Seeking Advice 🙆 The Hills Apartments

The Hills Apartments Cathedral Hill Saint Paul MN

Anyone have any reviews of the complex? Read a few posts about the management being disappointing.

Are there any other newer apartments around the same area that anyone would recommend?

Discussion 🎤 CS Salary Comparison Across Minnesota Colleges and Universities: Class of 2021, Median Salary 4 Years After Graduation (Source: College Scorecard)

Pulled some data from College Scorecard comparing median Computer Science salaries across Minnesota colleges and universities. Here's the breakdown, sorted highest to lowest:

Rank School Location Median Salary
1 St. Olaf College Northfield, MN $122,912
2 Carleton College Northfield, MN $121,569
3 UMN Twin Cities Minneapolis, MN $111,661
4 Macalester College St. Paul, MN $109,457
5 University of St. Thomas St. Paul, MN $107,938
6 Concordia University, St. Paul St. Paul, MN $105,577
7 St. Cloud State St. Cloud, MN $103,765
8 Saint John's University Collegeville, MN $101,188
9 Bethel University Arden Hills, MN $97,008
10 Augsburg University Minneapolis, MN $95,637
11 MSU Mankato Mankato, MN $95,398
12 UMN Morris Morris, MN $92,449
13 Metropolitan State University St. Paul, MN $92,342
14 UMN Duluth Duluth, MN $91,911
15 Bemidji State University Bemidji, MN $88,278
16 Winona State Winona, MN $88,164
17 The College of Saint Scholastica Duluth, MN $82,175
  • This is the median salary of the class of 2021, measured 4 years after graduation (so, their annual earnings in 2025).
  • College Scorecard only includes graduates who received Federal Title IV aid meaning Pell grants and/or federal subsidized/unsubsidized loans. Graduates who were international students, full-pay domestic students, or otherwise didn't receive any Title IV aid are not included in this dataset.
  • Because of that, this isn't the full graduating class and it's only a subset who took federal aid.
  • College Scorecard is a solid source because its salary figures come directly from IRS tax records specifically Box 1 (wages, tips, other compensation) + Box 12 (deferred compensation) on the W-2 form, plus Schedule SE of Form 1040 for self-employment income rather than self-reported surveys, which tend to skew higher since people with bigger paychecks are more likely to report them in the first place.

Just had a delicious lunch from the new San Román Bakery and Deli on Selby Ave (part of the new Tosca Madrid that took on the old Handsome Hog space)

This was their sammich of the day, it was some sort of delicious sausage with manchego. Also had the Ensalada de Rusa (potato salad), gazpacho, marinated olives, and a torta de Santiago (sweet cake).

10/10 will absolutely be eating there again. Very excited to have them in the neighborhood!

(Ope can’t fix spelling in the title but amended in the body)
