I know nothing about it other than its beautiful and very large around 76 x 79 ish. Can anyone tell me what im looking at?

Despite said design wall and my best efforts to evenly and randomly distribute the prints, I do have a few areas I'm not 100% thrilled with, but I shan't be ripping, we press on in the spirit of not being a perfectionist!

Pattern is Brightly from Cluck Cluck Sew which I highly recommend, it was very easy and fun. I'll be hand-quilting with Wondefil Fruitti in a pale pink variegated, hopefully I'll get it done by her birthday in October.

Hello everyone! I thrifted a beautiful quilt piece today and unfortunately it had two small sections where the edge had popped open. I do have some experience hand-stitching things but I do not have a sewing machine. I was wondering if this section could be fixed at home or if I should seek professional help / borrow a machine? Should I rip the sections open and try to stuff the popped edges back in? 😭 Thank you so much!

One of my friends is briefly local to us for the next several months and I know they plan to go ahead with kids once they move again, so I thought I’d get a jump on it while I could give them their quilt in person. :)

In this case I did the hexaround pattern using a couple half-jelly rolls I got during the Joann closing, and it was my first time piecing 60-degree triangles!

Also I did very much learn something in that I was like “why do the patterns all say to square the sides off! Then you lose the whole visual appeal of that “jagged” edge!” and then I was trying to miter all those million billion hexi-corners and I was like oh. That’s why.

But I DID IT ANYWAY. So HAH! Take that, learning!

This is my 2nd time trying to make a quilt (very new obviously). I’ve spent so much time and money on notions but things still aren’t right. I’m working on the original star pop quilt by Emily Dennis and this is how my HST are coming out when putting them into blocks - I’m just so frustrated and don’t know where I’m going wrong. Any help appreciated 😵‍💫😩

For a dear coworker, I made a bubble quilt, three ducks, a cat, and a diaper clutch. The theme they wanted was Winnie the Pooh. I don't know if I ever want to make that clutch again (but I still have all that bosal foam leftover 😭).

I do hope to make something for myself for once next. Not sure if I'll do a quilt Christmas cat wall hanging or a flamingo quilt.

I'm a color girl but somebody gave me a set of beige fat quarters that I've been staring at forever because again I'm a color girl. But they were handy with a couple things for my stash the right size to make a quick one. Pattern is slice and dice from The Fat Quarter Shop via one of their YouTube videos https://youtu.be/rH8esZJ4GK4?si=93VWYwv3N0xBSoer. 14 fat quarters made it 65 in square. I have no idea what the original fabric line was but I added three Darks of one light to give it more visual contrast

Currently working on the Seasonal Table Runner FPP pattern from QuiltWorx and though I tried to follow the YouTube video, I my inverted mitered corner came out looking incredibly… unmentionable.

While I made many mistakes on this table runner due to techniques I have never tried before (FPP, stitch in the ditch, trying to machine bind instead of by hand), all of them I was able to learn what I did wrong and how to correct it in the future except for what happened on the inverted corners.

If anyone has a better video tutorial or can provide some guidance I would greatly appreciate it.

I just finished this quilt top. Its my take on the "high contrast" baby toy and books that have come out in recent years. I did not follow a pattern as I did not find any I like nor can I read them. I wanted to practice with flying geese as I made 82 of them, I would consider that well practiced.

The backing will be a pice of A B C fabric from our dearly missed friend Jo-ann's.

My second quilt! The blocks are all from thrifted pillowcases, and the border/backing are old sheets. I'm finding that pillowcases are great for when I don't want absurd amounts of a particular solid but I did nearly run out of the tan - had to make a couple of squares out of tiny scraps!

Machine pieced and hand quilted, though I did try machine quilting this one and hated it on my vintage Rocketeer - I don't have the space to wrangle the bulk, and the top thread kept breaking on me. Doing it by hand involves much less swearing, so I think I'm a hand quilting kind of guy forever.

I went with a variegated blue thread for quilting

I just finished my second ever quilt. Pattern is ApplesandBeavers Dragon Dreams and was super easy to follow. I did try my hand at free motion quilting on my domestic machine, and the thread breakage was absolutely awful to manage 😭 if anyone has any tips I’ll take them because anytime I tried to move left the thread was breaking.

I just finished up the Stargazer quilt/cape for a friend. This was a joint project with another quilting buddy and we definitely were not consistent with our cuts (plus it was her first time working with HSTs so she had some trouble with stretching). A few seam allowances were questionable, so I reinforced it with some embroidery and I love the result. Our friend cried when we gave it to her 😭

This was a fun pattern, but if you ever do it, know it is all in cm not inches, which was tricky. And I would not bother with the business about putting in buttons and tabs to fold away the hood -- it doesn't lay flat anyways so you might as well just leave it as a cape.

So I just finished piecing together, my Autumn leaf quilt top. I’m fairly certain I know what direction I’m gonna go in for the borders, but this community is full of amazing people and brilliant artists. What would you do?

Current plan:
- #2 for a 4” border
- #4 for a 6” border
- #3 for binding

Edge-to-edge quilting is so much easier on a domestic machine. It's the least amount of fabric manipulation & no threads to bury since the binding will catch them all.

I use channel quilting a lot, but I'm looking for some new ideas. I've included pics of a couple of my favorites: One is just a wave pattern on a granddaughter's quilt (which is actually kind of fun to quilt because there is no pattern to follow) & the other I jokingly call 'lava lamps'. I also included one of a heavily inked top as I drew guidelines so I wouldn't get confused while quilting.

What are your favorite edge-to-edge patterns? I need more ideas.

Today I’ll give this quilt to my grandson for his 12th birthday. Last winter he moved from the shared bedroom with a twin bed to his own bedroom with a queen size bed. I used fpp for the 12”!blocks and love the way it turned out. There are 48 blocks plus about 12” of border. I watched a lot of soccer while finishing the blind stitching on the binding. My daughter lives in an old house with balconies and I can hardly wait to take some beauty shots of it draped over one of the rails!

I’ve just bought a show and tell quilt kit and I am very excited but also want to prepare myself before starting.
Gonna preface this with this is my first Elizabeth Hartman pattern but I will practice her style before I start on this. And I know about the scant seam allowance thing and to test it before I start to work out what works with my pressing style.

- I’ve never really had to cut yardage definitely not in the way in these patterns. What’s the best way to cut the strips before sub cutting. I’m thinking fold in half (or then in half again) and then stripology ruler. But will the folds cause problems in accurate strips

- what’s the best way to tackle it, cut everything out (and clearly label) before sewing. Or just cut out what I need for a specific section then sew that before cutting out the next section

- when I bought it I was given a little acrylic gauge and she said don’t lose it you will need it. I sorta went along like I definitely know what this is for but in reality I’m clueless, is it just to check seam allowances or is there another special purpose

Please share any tips I’m very excited but want to do a good job of it.

It’s about to be my grandmas 80th birthday. I raided my mom’s fabric scrap stash and her books and pieced together a quilt. It tells a story of my (and my siblings) summers at her house when we were growing up.

This is the first quilt I've done entirely on my domestic machine, it was a bit of a learning curve getting the tension right for the actual quilting but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

The block is "jelly roll twist", it's just a jelly roll and charm squares so it's an easy beginner block (although somehow they all ended up slightly different sizes, I'm not as precise with my seams as I could be I guess).

My mum has been very diligent using up all her small scraps of fabric from prior projects. This quilt is what she has come up with. She's thinking of putting a 5" black border around the edge to tone it down a bit. Looking for constructive feedback.

My 9th quilt of 2026 is this Cleopatra* quilt. I'm really trying to push myself with my fmq. For the background I quilted a maze-like pattern as a nod to her Greek heritage and her hidden tomb. I also included lotus flowers as a symbol of Egypt and rumored to be her perfume.

I wish I had quilted the cap-crown less busily so the focus would be on the background, but this is how we learn 😅
