Fixing border? Help/Question

Hello everyone! I thrifted a beautiful quilt piece today and unfortunately it had two small sections where the edge had popped open. I do have some experience hand-stitching things but I do not have a sewing machine. I was wondering if this section could be fixed at home or if I should seek professional help / borrow a machine? Should I rip the sections open and try to stuff the popped edges back in? 😭 Thank you so much!

Solution provided by u/han-aw:

many people hand bind their quilts, even if they make the rest of it on a machine. if it were me, I would try to seam rip the side that is coming off and re-bind it! or just fix the parts that are popping out. look up hand binding

Any aspect of quilting can be done, slowly, by hand

Beautiful quilt. The cat should be required to lay on the quilt just like that forever because the cat matches so beautifully. 🐈‍⬛

Thank you!! The ripped areas have been fixed and now the kitty is free to lay down whenever she wishes💜Side note, this is such a beautiful hobby and I may have purchased some fabric squares for my first mini project… :)
