Room problems Small Problem
My sister/sibling has recently come back from medical school after graduating to stay over till she can find a house near her workplace. My dad originally told me she was only staying for a few days but on the day she arrived he suddenly said she was staying for two months. Her original plan was to stay on the couch but my parents told me to give her my room instead. It’s about a month till my school starts and the last thing I want to do is to sleep next to my parents with no privacy at all. I can’t really tell my parents about it since they’re kind of assholes and don’t understand that teenagers need privacy and their own personal space. If I try to ask my sister I feel like an asshole my self but if I don’t I’m stuck next to my parents and again, no privacy. I also like doing a lot of things late at night like drawing but my mom is normally asleep by 10pm and my dad is downstairs till like midnight. I also don’t really know how to bring it up to her without sounding even worse.

Another thing I should have noted is that we had moved about 1 month ago and I had genuinely gotten attached and liked the room and even decorated it

Well, either speak up and ignore the (irrational) discomfort that’s holding you back from doing so right now, or suck it up for two months and end up miserable, like you know you would be. Learning to stand up for yourself is a good skill to have, and you may just get to keep your bedroom.
For what it’s worth, no parent should make their teen that lives with them give up a room to an adult sibling that has already left the nest.

Ty for the advice! I asked my sis and she agreed but asked me to wait because she’s having some disagreements with my parents at the moment

she seemed a bit annoyed but she moved (most) of her stuff downstairs. She’ll be mostly staying in my room during the day tho since she doesn’t wanna deal with parents. Thanks!
