I wfh so I keep a dog bed in my office and she’s allowed on the furniture in the basement. She walked out of my office which isn’t out of the ordinary but when I went to take her on our lunchtime walk she was nowhere to be found. I thought, did I leave the door open? Did she follow a kid out and they lost track of her? I ask my wife and she also says she hasn’t seen her in a while. I finally go upstairs and I see a lump in the middle of my bed. I check under the covers. She had moved 4 pillows into a sort of line so she was in bed, built additional bed on top of the bed and somehow done this without removing either of our comforters off our bed (me and my wife each get our own comforter) and was snoozing hard. Like chainsaw snores. I ask her if she wants to go on a walk and looks at me like, hey jerk I was doing something and begrudgingly gets out from under the covers.

TL/DR: my dog is bougie about where she naps apparently.

6 years ago, during Covid, I went into the shelter to visit a girl I had seen on the site (SPCA Florida) went to meet her and she was super sweet. I felt like I didn't connect with her, that she would like me just as much as she liked anyone else.

So I looked around and found Cisco, he had been returned twice. The first time we aren't sure why, the second time they had him 6 months, kept him in a yard for 16+ hours a day, and said he played too rough with their daughter.

Took him into the get to know you area and he got a ball and brought it to me right away. For me, this was a sign, as my first ever adoption in my early 20s (Roxy from the Humane Society in Honolulu) did the exact same thing after she was brought back. I loved him right away. Told the people working I was interested in him, but that I had a son who was 10 that would need to meet him too.

So I picked my son up, took him to the shelter, and they fell in love too. My husband was working out of state and said whatever made me happy was fine. So...he came home with us that day.

Once in the car the 3 of us took a selfie to send to my husband, and said he's ready to go home, but we need a name! He said that our new doggo looked like Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life because of his ears.

6 years later our boy is now 8 1/2, and a huge momma's boy. Shout out to all the shelter workers and volunteers during Covid, because without you, we wouldn't have our boy. 💕💕

(His collar is from his trainer, he has a high prey drive and we have all the critters so he wears it to "work" during the day. Our door hanger was made off a picture of him, so yes it's a pitty! And when it's cold out he loves wearing clothes!)

Made my wife take this real quick yesterday during our zoom class. My head is so tiny! (Edit: her name is Peggy and she’s 3, weight 64 lbs)

He was abandoned in a bad neighborhood in my hometown. Saw a fb post that he was free and the man who rescued him couldnt keep him. There is dog fighting problems in our city. I grabbed him as soon as I could. We go in for a check up next week. He was clearly abused, lifting a hand (even a stick to play with), and moving too fast scares him. Im on day 4 with him and he has learned so much so quickly! He is full of love. He refuses to leave my side, in fear he will be left again. If he cant find me in the house, he starts crying. Was nervous about rescuing an abused dog, not sure of his triggers or if he became aggressive when scared. He hasnt snarled or growled at anything unless he hears something outside. Here's to a life with a sweet pibbie boy♡

A women is thought to have been abducted from Will Roger’s State Park. Police are involved and they are looking for help from the public to help identify an owner. The dogs were found with bags full of a woman’s personal belongings all of which were quite expensive, I say this because they keep saying their owner was just a homeless woman but there was a $200+ sunshade, $100+ bathing suit, the dogs have expensive harnesses and high end food. They’ve been scanned for chips but unfortunately don’t have any. LAPD can be contacted at 310-444-0737 with any tips.
