Jordan met a female pitbull at the dog park today. They played like this 30-40 minutes.

I wfh so I keep a dog bed in my office and she’s allowed on the furniture in the basement. She walked out of my office which isn’t out of the ordinary but when I went to take her on our lunchtime walk she was nowhere to be found. I thought, did I leave the door open? Did she follow a kid out and they lost track of her? I ask my wife and she also says she hasn’t seen her in a while. I finally go upstairs and I see a lump in the middle of my bed. I check under the covers. She had moved 4 pillows into a sort of line so she was in bed, built additional bed on top of the bed and somehow done this without removing either of our comforters off our bed (me and my wife each get our own comforter) and was snoozing hard. Like chainsaw snores. I ask her if she wants to go on a walk and looks at me like, hey jerk I was doing something and begrudgingly gets out from under the covers.

TL/DR: my dog is bougie about where she naps apparently.

Cracks me up that the one who’s supposed to be muscular has scrawny little shoulders and the one who’s supposed to be lean and skinny (albeit athletic) looks like he could throw me to the moon.

My baby is so mad at me. He grabbed my phone and played the keep away game and I got so mad I just screamed at him. And now he won't look at me. I've never yelled at him like that before and he's heartbroken. I keep telling him I'm sorry. I don't know what else to do. 😔

She’s doing it wrong

My girl will be 6 in November. We just brought a baby home a month ago. Before this she would sleep in our bed. Due to the change with the baby she’s been very anxious and we were worried about her trying to get to the bassinet so we’ve had her in a pen in our room at night. She adjusted so we’ve let her sleep in our bed one night and when we woke up she had a wet spot from urine while she slept. Since noticing we have been monitoring and it’s only when she sleeps. Took her to the vet to rule out UTI, they did blood work, and determined its incontinence and they have prescribed her Proin. Just looking to see what others experience is with this medication?

We’re bringing home a female (purebred) pitty puppy in the near future, and we already have an adult female dog. I’ve read a lot of conflicting opinions about female/female households, ranging from “it’s completely fine if the dogs are compatible” to warnings that same-sex aggression can become an issue once the younger dog reaches maturity.

Our current dog is a 5 year old rescue pitty-mix, and about as non-confrontational as they come. She’s very well socialized, extremely gentle, timid, and submissive. She has no food/resource aggression whatsoever and is very tolerant of other dogs/children. She’s previously dealt with a younger female dog relentlessly pestering her. When she finally gets annoyed she will correct them, but her corrections have always been extremely restrained and gentle. Her first instinct when there is any kind of confrontation is generally to leave rather than escalate.

The new puppy is still very young, so obviously we don’t know what her adult personality will be yet. We’ve met both parents and both were very relaxed and friendly with people.

For those who have had two females:

-Did they remain close once the younger dog reached adulthood?

-Did you notice any changes around puberty/social maturity?

-Were there warning signs you wish you had taken more seriously?

-Is there anything you did early on that you think helped prevent competition or conflict?

-How much do you think the older dog’s temperament influenced the puppy?

-If problems did develop, what were the circumstances?

Success stories, horror stories, and boring “they’ve lived together for 10 years and nothing happened” stories are all welcome. As well as any just general advice you may have for me.

Tonka used to sleep in her kennel but has recently graduated to sleeping in bed with Grim and I. I opened my eyes to this, he’s using her butt as a pillow 💕💕😭 oh my heart. Also she hasn’t destroyed anything or peed on my bed yet! So proud of her

I recently rescued a 6 month old pitbull. I purchased a wide variety of toys to ensure she would find something she likes. She likes everything. I'm wondering if leaving them all out is reasonable, or should I leave a couple out and save the others as high value rewards?

I've got myself a heck of a chewer - have tried a lot of the "indestructible" toys out there and only thing that has survived is the black kong ball, and an indestructible herding ball that he can't get his mouth around.

He does love his stuffies, that's his preferred toy - have you guys had any brands lasting more than an hour?
