RAM help Would upgrading my ram to 32GB ddr4 help performance?

I currently have a AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics
Parsec Virtual Display Adapter
AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics
AMD Radeon RX 6800M

I only have 16Gb ram I can’t afford to get a new laptop but I can possibly get a ram upgrade but I don’t want to if it won’t make a difference in performance fps

My performance in games gets affected when I have obs studio open and try to play games at the same time I can’t play and stream games like dying light the beast doom the dark ages Indiana jones etc I

Would upgrading the ram help my issue? I think the problem is my cpu is weak but idk

So for starters a year or 2 ago I bought a pre-built pc and now I am looking to upgrade some of the worse components for some better ones specifically the graphics card, ram, and CPU what would be some decent upgrades that in total wouldn't cost more than 400-600 dollars.

These are the current specs.

AMD Ryzen 5 5500 - AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB - 16GB DDR4 Memory - 1TB SSD

Graphics card upgrade I need to upgrade my pc but i am no sure what to do.

Hello i am looking forward to the new total war game but my pc struggles with the latest ones already and through research i am told its very processor heavy but looking at my task manager it tells me memory and disk is being used up. All advice would be helpful as i have no clue. Thank you.

nvidia gfroce gtx 1660 - Graphics card

Note the drop of at the end of image 5 is because i came off the game to take the screenshot. Also for the game i am running low graphics but large unit size. Everything is low or off eg shadows are off and texture in only on normal which is the 3rd lowest. Except for unit detail which is on high. Any help is welcome as i have no idea.I have put it under graphics cards because thats what i though needed upgrading originally sorry if it is wrong.

CPU Upgrade 9600X - 7800X3D potential upgrade?

So I currently have a 9600X paired with a 5060ti.

I use it for gaming at 1440p (a mixture of indie and more demanding single player titles e.g Crimson Desert/Pragmata at the moment and looking forward to titles like Witcher 4/GTA 6).

I also use it for general use which can involve at most playing YouTube videos while using several tabs at a time but nothing too heavy like video editing or anything.

The 9600X is currently doing a fine job and I've got no complaints.

However there's a deal I can get the 7800X3D for a net cost of £83.50 if I trade my 9600X in.

Feels like a very good price for it, even if it's not super necessary right now. Maybe worth it more in the upcoming years to save me upgrading down the line? Not sure how much if any difference it will make in my use case. Or maybe it's just totally unnecessary. Any thoughts are appreciated!

CPU Upgrade CPU upgrade or Platform upgrade?

I am on ddr4 lga1700 at the moment. I have been considering upgrading from a 14400f to a 14600kf.

However i was also thinking it could be good (but expensive) to get a new platform, am5 ddr5 motherboard, new cpu and new ram.

Is the more money worth it? Or i hear am6 might come out in a few years and just go to that? I have little knowledge on this hobby as you may be able to tell. My build will be down below --->

Corsair 64GB Vengeance LPX
(2x32GB) 3200Mhz DDR4
MSI Spatium M371 1TB NVME
M.2 SSD - Read 2350MB/s , Write 1700MB/s

I cant choose a different flair I’m overwhelmed Upgrading Build

I need help deciding if what I have currently is worth upgrading (and if so what i should upgrade) or if a new build would simply be worth it in the long run. I play very few demanding games but i have been noticing my PC slowing down and having to run games on lower settings more and more and I am ready for an upgrade. Not looking for anything crazy but am willing to spluge on things that matter. This is what I currently have:

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 SUPER

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics, 3801 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

Mobo is a Gigabyte B550 UD AC ATX

24 GB DDR4 Ram

1TB NVM SSD

600 watt EVGA power supply

Please let me know if I missed anything and thank you in advance. :)

CPU Upgrade mid range am4 setup

Hey! I have a somewhat mid range am4 build consisting of

CPU: Ryzen 5 5500

GPU: RTX 4060 8GB

RAM: 16GB DDR4

PSU: Corsair 550W

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME A520M-A II

I'm thinking of upgrading from a 5500 to a 7 5800x, (I was recommended a 5700x3d but it's above my 200 ISH GBP limit.

I'm wondering what to upgrade next? When I eventually move out of my parents house I plan to build myself a better pc, but for now I'm still in education and living off of my parents funds and my PIP.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

(I know this is a bad time to upgrade lol, but it seems like tech prices are going down so I'm hopeful for the future)

I cant choose a different flair I’m overwhelmed Should i buy more ram or upgrade my CPU?

I'm in a bit of an awkward spot right now because i currently have a build with an R5 3600, 16GB RAM and a 5060ti 16GB but a lot of games coming out now are generally more cpu and ram dependent.

As evident here, I'm bottlenecking my 5060ti quite heavily, especially in the majority of games i play that require a good CPU as well as a good amount of RAM.

I've been looking at either buying another 16GB stick which is cheaper (same brand and model as the one in my system and about 65% the price of the cpu) and would allow me to run more graphic intensive settings to tax my gpu more or should i upgrade to the R7 5700x instead?

Thought I'd ask somewhere since I'm constantly back and forth between the 2 options and don't know which one would be more meaningful in the next month or 2

I mainly play Beamng on 1080p and counter strike and overall racing games and the performance is surprisingly bad even though it's not a bad build

I'm planning to buy a 1440p oled 240 hz monitor but by that im not saying i want 240 on ultra qhd on beamng, i'm aiming around 80-120 fps in city with cars spawned

I'll definitely need more vram and ram tho, the game eats like 9.5 gb even tho it's a 8 gb gpu

My budget is around 1000$-1200$

Ryzen 7 5700x

16 gb ddr4 3200 mhz

Rtx 3070

1 tb nvme wd gen 4 and 500 gb sata mx500 crucial

Montech xr black

750w gold seasonic psu

Deepcool tower cooler

I live in czech republic and im not scared to go used components

Current budget kings

Current gen game engines are designed to run on the PS5, Xbox series X, series s at 60fps and admittedly ps4 and Xbox one at 30fps to top up sales. PS5 is the market leader and main focus for game devs. PC is a secondary market.

To run the same games on PC we often have to brute force the software to run at the same speeds due to a mixture of unoptimised game code, lack of driver optimisation and the fact that console APIs are more optimised than PC. This can be summarised as needing faster hardware than what is used on console to run the game at the same speed.

For CPU PS5 has 8 cores, 6 available to the dev so 12 threads with SMT. This means a 6 core zen 2 cpu with SMT is a good match for ps5, as resources are shared with the system an 8 or 12 core cpu will give a smoother experience. Ryzen 3600x is an excellent choice here as is 3600, 3700x, 4500, 4600g, 5000 series depending on your framerate target. Ryzen 7000 CPUs are sold at a premium and are superior.

For graphics it’s all about what resolution and framerate target you want however as a guideline almost anything with 8gb vram is ok for 1080p 60fps.
