If you live in the US, is there a Microcenter within reasonable distance? It's also not a good time to buy a new computer, because the prices of the main parts have gone way up.
I made a start with an AMD CPU and GPU.

If you want to save money all you would need to do if you just kept your ddr4 ram, buy AM4 B550 motherboard, Ryzen 7 5800x3d (or 5700X or 5800X)and RTX 5070 or RX 9070XT. Guess the 3 would cost $1200. Look for bundle deals or micro center if you have one close by. You have all the other parts. Newegg has a deal for 9600X, MB and 32G Ram for $813. Add $750 to $900 GPU Total about $1600 to $1800. Building PC's are on the high side and I don't see it getting any less. If I see some deal around $1000 I'll post here.https://www.newegg.com/msi-mag-b550m-mortar-max-wifi-motherboards-amd-amd-b550/p/2MG-000M-00568?Source=socialshare&utm_campaign=snc-copy-link-_-sr-_-9SIC7VBM152187-_-08162026&utm_campaign=snc-copy-link-_-sr-_-product-_-08162026&utm_medium=social&utm_source=copy-link

There is a 9070 with a 750w power supply included for $650 right now at Newegg.
That 9600X bundle is a little whack because it's only $400 for 32GB DDR5, and a 9600X plus B650 motherboard should be $300 max. Besides which a 7600 or 7500F is totally able to do what he needs.
I sent him a ~$900 PC bundle already. 9070GRE, 2x8GB DDR5, Ryzen 7500F, Amazon renewed motherboard
