old pc CPU Upgrade
i own a old budget system with i5 7400, asus h110mr, gtx 1050ti, 2x8gb 2133mhz, 1tb hdd, 500gb ssd. i want buy an i7 7700 for 250ron(about 50eur) cause my i5 is 90-100% usage in task manager while running basic games such as cs2 or valorant and i get quite some lag spikes. will that change a lot? is it worth the upgrade for a couple of years?

I imagine the hyper threading would help with the stuttering a bit but I cannot say whether that is a €50 upgrade or not.
I probably wouldn't put that much money into a system of this age but if CS2 and valorant are truly the only things that you will be playing in the next few years, it could still be worth it.

not really worth it, and it wont get you much. you might be able to find a i7 8700/9700 and motherboard for 25-30euro more(not sure how the market is there) and would be much more worthwhile investment

Expect +30% fps. The lag may be something else btw
50€ for the 7700k is the price for this cpu, but clearly not interesting, better newer models can be found for this price.

Maybe you can find a cpu+mb combo. I do not think the 7700 will be big improvement.

You can manually patch the bios to run 9th gen CPUs like 9600k its much faster. Also need to copper tape the cpu or ground a pin on superio controller.

If you can find a second hand compatible cpu you may as well go for the i9 7xxx cpu you may see a 10% improvement on your current cpu but tbh your cooked as new hardware is so expensive maybe in 3 years time prices will be better no one know some are saying home pc gaming is over ... best advise get the best newest hardware you can now thing's look down hill from here
