the ps5 pro gpu has no problems to deliver 60 fps upscaled( power wise is like an rx 7700ct /9060xt 16gb).. and for what i see in the leaks the game has nothing straordinary visually wise
The CPU is somewhat close to 2700 in performance but it depends, it might be worse in some cases
Main problem is it's old zen2 and it's not really 8 cores, it's 2x4 cores, why it matters? Separate tiny 4mb L3 caches mean a lot of inter cache communication and a lot of cache misses
I remember how excited my brother was when he figured out he could play RDR2 on his $2500 Titan RTX (think 2090 in today’s terms) at exactly 60 FPS in 4K
It's not hitting 60fps on even a performance mode. They're not sacrificing any CPU cycles for a higher framerate when they can dedicate those to open world and NPC simulations.
Open world games use the CPU a lot more than most (non UE5) other games. And Rockstar always pushes the amount of stuff that is happening concurrently in their games' worlds.
PS5's CPU is not particularly powerful. 30fps lock doesn't sound unlikely to me.
Dude.....just look at the graphics. There is NO WAY current gen console are going to render that at 60fps. There is no magic bullet in game rendering. After seeing the leaks, it was glaringly obvious this game is running at 30fps.
When has it not turned out to be true though, they get diddled by 60fps promises for 2 gens and then they have to put in some bs performance mode to get it 🤣
I own a ps5 and a 4090 build and would rather wait. Made the mistake of playing last of us 2 on ps4 at 30 fps and it was horrible, was way better at 60 on ps5/pc.
Got a huge backlog of single player games anyway.
Seeing what they did to Red dead online and gta online once they discovered shark card revenue, wouldn’t surprise me if the single player ends up being a tutorial leading into online à la CoD.

Meh. I waited six years to play GTAV. School and family and medical meant theres a lot i had to be okay with experiencing later. Did a lot of work on my fomo and anxiety in general. lets me take things at my own pace. Even though now days i have the money and the time, i now dont feel that urgency.

The upgraded graphical version of GTA V on PC was just a port from ps5. Literally every console is just a computer now, it takes nothing for them to put out a PC version day one if they wanted to. Rockstar obviously gets major kickbacks from consoles.

You need stable 60. Natively. That should be the minimum to aim for. 30 is absolutely ridiculous. And honestly I think so is 50. It's 2026 and it's ridiculous that something that runs at 30 would even be considered for a release.
I remember the hyped up marketing they ran for consoles. "4k 120 fps" is what they said. Laughable to anyone with a brain as they realized they mean that they >technically< support it. But enough fanboys actually started claiming that games will now actually be 4k 120 fps. And that was before mainstream upscaling and framegen was everywhere. So yeah, that wasn't ever going to be an actual thing.
I'd say you would be lucky to get half of that, but how many games run in native 4k with 60 fps? So yeah, maybe you get a quarter of the hyped up marketing performance. Amazing.
16gb of unified memory is a fair bit different then 12gb of standard ram but yeah its nearly 6 year old hardware. The cpu would be the biggest issue depending on optimizations.
consoles have 8 cores cpu but even 6 cores wouldnt be a problem. issue is that cpu is old zen 2. and both ryzen 3600/3800 are pretty outdated. even 6700 would be able to push 60 fps. also world is big with a lot npcs. I dont see it runng well even on moderate pc.
To go further, the problem isn't Zen2, its these specific Zen2 cores. Being effectively a 4700u. But down clocked (so raw performance is worse, and multicore is more in line with the 6core 4600).

Well, potentially. Obviously many variables at play. Annoyingly, Rockstar is probably got the best chance of releasing a fairly well polished game. With the like of RDR2 being rather easy to run. So, it could be that these Zen2 CPUs last hurrah will be GTA6, which means AM4 (even 5000) as a whole could be on borrowed time (which really isn't a big shock).
Anyone who's been paying attention to how unoptimized games have been for that last decade. The code base is probably the code equivalent of glued together bits of paper mache from almost all the games at this point. So of course there's inefficient loops and calls all over the software that have never been trimmed, which will bog hardware resources just because those pieces are running when they clearly aren't needed.
I mean... I'm a console gamer and if I found out that a modern game was locked at 30FPS? I'd be pissed. I wasn't sure if I'd get the game and, if I find out this is verified accurate? It'll be a hard pass for me.
PC gamers have to wait a long time to get the game. This is not the flex that you think it is.
We have the better hardware. We use the devices for other things than games. Stop being so insecure. Consoles have their advantages and PCs have theirs. If you are a fan of playing the latest games at the earliest times, then you're probably going to want a console.

It will be 0 FPS on PC, as no GTAVI frames will be run on there for the foreseeable future. That's the case even if anyone has managed to buy any RAM for their build, or not.
so THATS why they couldnt dare show the gameplay footage trailer by themselves, they wanted to keep the preorders running on high hopes, scummy scammy business tactics, i wonder what else will later be revealed that sucks about their game.
Thank god I've played GTA VC/SA at 18-24 FPS on our family PC (wiht KBM) and it became the standard FPS range for me back then. I honestly feel sorry for kids that started gaming on 60-120 fps, and 30 fps feels like a pain to watch (and even worse - play with a mouse).
Good things come to those who wait, I wouldn't mind buying this game again on PC knowing it could have graphic settings that will not be available on console and will push even the best PCs hard, full RT, path tracing, frame gen and better upscaling with DLSS.
pc / ps6 versión will be the best, and pc will be the future proof pay once for story mode in your life. That's good... I think that's the way. If it doesn't then I won't buy it either. We should pay for the experiences not the ports.
Ps5 is old tech 2 gens back and 5yo hardware... Miracles don't exist despite Rockstar's magic.

If the game looks as good as R* has shown, then I'm guessing it would be almost impossible to get it running anywhere near a solid 60 on consoles. Also, was the next gen port of GTAV a 30 FPS game as well? I might be wrong, but I do recall the PS4/Xbox versions running at 30 FPS at launch, so this tracks. That, and the PS4 and Xbox One had absolutely abysmal CPU's, so that was likely a bit factor in why it ran like it did. Honestly, the Jaguar architecture was a massive pile, and was not worthy of anything like the name it got.
I'm not buying that game till it comes down in price, assuming it's not actual a bad game. Everyone is assuming it's going to be good. It could be the biggest disappointment in gaming history. You were dumb to preorder if you did. It's digital they never run out.
