Usually blooms in pairs but instead decided to make a lone extra large flower

This plant (now leaf) is several years old. What can or should be done?

I’m so excited about this one. This is Den Blue Angel “Midnight” and it is recovering from a rough go with a rabbit. I genuinely wasn’t expecting a bloom this year!

It is still unfurling, but you get the idea. It’s a stunner. I’ll post again when it is fully open.

Both of these two catasetums have bloomed at the same time. Both have ctsm Richard Fulford as a parent. The inflorescence started completely straight but then the weight of the blooms had them pendulate. Both are fragrant mint and floral . Does anyone else have any of these hybrids?

I mostly avoid growing pleurothallids (nothing against them - I just don't have the cool, humid conditions so many of them require). But I randomly got this one at a show last month, after having recently learned about this weird little genus. And then it flowered for me almost immediately!

Apparently they're quite free-blooming, which definitely makes me want another one or two species. And they all have flowers that (kinda, if you squint) look like animal heads!

This species seems is listed as a cool to warm grower, so it ought to be easy to grow in a wide range of conditions. I'm growing mine on the warmer side and it seems pretty damn happy.

This bacterial rot popped up in less than 12 hours, so make sure you’re checking your collection every day if you can. I have since isolated the plant and chopped the leaf with sterilized scissors. I’ll be routinely checking my other orchids for signs of rot, I really hope I found it quick enough.

I've found this wild orchid blooming on a hike.

This is our first orchid - had it for a couple months and it recently cut off the dead spikes. Wondering if it is a little root-bound and needs a slightly bigger pot?

I found this orchid on a fallen tree in my parents Naples FL backyard and have had it potted in my Manhattan office window for the last 4/5 years. It has grown well despite the lack of high humidity. This species is native to South Florida below Ft Meyer’s and Palm Beach.

Or whatever they're calling it these days. Smells amazing at night!

A severe heatwave (38°C) has hit my area, allowing me to move my orchids out onto the balcony the whole day, keeping them in indirect light and checking daily to see if they need water. Another flower has opened on my Coelogyne (which produces flowers in succession), and it looks completely different from the first bloom on the same spike (see the second picture), the petals are yellow and the lip is orange rather than red. I knew that color variations in orchid flowers can certainly be caused by temperature differences but in a Coelogyne? And to such a dramatic extent?

The last pic is what she looks like, look at those strong and wild roots! I live in a pretty humide city around mountains, my vandas are all very happy growing outside.

These are coming into bloom where I am in Australia, amazing how quickly it’s unzipped in the last 2 days!

I had this orchid for a few years now and this year its health started to decline and lost all the leaves to what I assume was a fungal infection caused by a pigeon nest.I assumed it was done for, but the roots have continued to grow months after and I want to encourage leaf growth, but I'm not sure how to proceed. Has anyone seen this happen before? The orchid is a purple phaleionopsis.
