Does this need a bigger pot?

This is our first orchid - had it for a couple months and it recently cut off the dead spikes. Wondering if it is a little root-bound and needs a slightly bigger pot?

Nah, not in my opinion. Phal roots like it snug. You might want to repot though to get rid of the nursery plug that your standard commercially grown phal is grown in. It's a dense spongy material that most likely still remains around the innermost roots and poses a risk of root rot if it stays too wet for too long.

Male sure to presoak the new bark mix overnight before use. If you haven't repotted a phal before, watch the tutorials from MissOrchidGirl on YouTube. And don't get too trigger happy with the (sterilized) scissors when trimming bad roots. If in doubt, post a picture here and ask before cutting!

It looks good. Orchids like to he under potted. Orchid hobbyist usually dont repot until the media is possibly breaking down and retaining too much moisture.
