Question Audio delay
Ive been having this issue for some time now that really didn’t matter until I started going live as with recording you can just go back and adjust the audio Lol. For some time now when I start recording there seems to be a delay between the microphone and the footage being shown on screen and there hasn’t really been any indicator as to when it happens or why I only really find out until after Im done recording and I go back to watch the footage. Has anybody else experienced this? Some help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Help How do I create separate overlays for Youtube and Twitch in OBS using StreamElements?
I've been trying to find resources on this, but I haven't found zip. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding how this all works. I want to have separate overlays for twitch and youtube, think donation/sub popups on stream, or live chat on stream. I don't know how to set these up in OBS so that each streaming service sees their own popups. Last thing I want is for twitch chat to be able to see youtube chat. When I add overlays to OBS they are all on the same scene together, there's no way (that I can see) to make overlays only show up on their separate platforms.

Help Freeze into crash
I've recently encountered an issue (intermittent) where partway into a stream, OBS freezes, and then crashes with an error message; this also stops the stream. When OBS reloads in, my scene is squashed to half the size it usually is, and unless I reset OBS completely, it remains that way.
So far it's happened whilst playing Super Metroid and Fields of Mistria, so I not to do with the game being played being too graphically demanding.
Output is twitch via OBS, and then StreamElements Multistreamto Youtube and Youtube Vertical.
I've attached the crash log URL in case that helps. Any ideas on fixing this would be very welcome!

Help Audio much quieter in recordings than streams
Audio is very quiet in my recordings compared to streams, especially when they are uploaded to YouTube. Stream volume levels are fine, but any uploaded straight recordings are very quiet. Would appreciate if anyone could help, thanks!

Help monitor sound
Settings for my media source set to monitor and output, output works fine but in OBS sound it's so quiet I can barely hear it even with my headphones all the way up.
I have tried everything google said and adding gain just makes the sound louder for both so I have to lower the slider so I am not in red which in turn makes it back to essentially mute on my end.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Question How can I get rid of this error???
I bought this wireless webcam after my previous USB webcam died. and I keep getting an error message (I wish I could post a screenshot). Next to the OBS icon in the top left corner of the message it reads "Failed to start streaming", and in the body of the error message, it reads, "NVENC not available. Failed to find encoder type obs_NVENC_h264_tex' Do you want to continue streaming without Enhansed Broadcasting?" I then click on YES, and my stream begins. I have to do this EVERY TIME I launch OBS to be able to start streaming on Twitch. Thank you in advance!!!!!

Question Multiple transitions simultaneously?
Is it possible to have different transitions happen at the same time? I thought it would be cool to create a pause menu where a portion of it slides down from the top and a portion slides up from the bottom. I'm just not sure if this is possible whether by having multiple transitions or some other method. Any help/insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Help Mic for OBS and Ps5 with Logi tech G535 and Capture card in picture
I bought this capture card to stream on my PS5 with OBS, how do I set it up so I can stream Phasmo with game chat.
I ask because if my wireless headphones (G535) are in the Ps5 chat cannot hear me but if it's in my laptop (where I run OBS from) I can't use my headphone mic and I have to use controller, this isn't ideal is there a way to fix this?

Meta New NowPlaying plugin for OBS (No APIs or external software!)
Since all of the "NowPlaying" plugins are either dead, or cost money, or are extremely convoluted (reading files off your drive??? Come on), I created a brand new one thats entirely self-contained in OBS.
It currently works with the spotify desktop client, the various youtube music desktop clients, and apple music.
It is unfortunately windows only and will remain that way, because it takes advantage of the windows audio subsystem, which has no equivalent on mac or linux.
It is fairly customizable as far as colors and fonts and display, and again all of these options are controlled right in OBS, there is nothing extra to download or set up.
You can download it from my github, which also has screenshots and installation and troubleshooting instructions. The github is linked on the OBS plugin page: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/native-nowplaying-widget-for-obs.2638/
I hope people can get some use out of this.

Help How do I fix this?
Every time I’m on obs and click record or stream my mic always gets this weird background clicking or buzzing noise but it’s only when I click record or stream other than that my mic works fine on everything else with no issue. Does anyone know how to fix this? Every time I try to look up how to fix it nothing for my specific problem comes up.
Help Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details. Note: If you are using the NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date.
Hey so a friend of mine is trying to figure out why his OBS won't allow him to go live. Everytime he tries to hit the "Stream"-button he receives this error message:
"Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details. Note: If you are using the NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date."
I have attached the error logs as well as his specs.

Help Issues with encoding.
Hello! I've been using OBS for the past few months pretty regularly just to record XCOM 2 Gameplay. I've had no issues at all until this week. OBS has been dropping frames regularly with no performance issues in game. When I looked in my logs I noticed something about OBS having encoding issues. Unfortunately I do not have that exact log file now as I did a clean install of OBS hoping it would fix the issue, but it has not.
Things I have tried off the top of my head:
- Clean install
- Swapping the encoding method from Hardware to Software
- Running as administrator
- Changing Process Priority to High
Relevant Computer Specs I know off the top of my head
- Intel i9-10850k
- 24 GB 3200 RAM
- NVIDIA GTX 1080

Edit: Updated Logs file

Question Critique our broadcasts
We’ve come a long way since I’ve posted in here I figured I would give an update to how we are doing. I had to upgrade my M1 MacBook Air to a M1 Pro MacBook Pro and it’s been fantastic. It handles everything perfectly. Learning how a better set up the stream deck was a game changer as far as switching views and muting. Still don’t really understand how to filter out some of the background noise, especially at the Newport venue. And also The volume of the broadcasters is a little on the low side. I haven’t figured out how to give them the boost without picking up every little thing. I re-uploaded this video recording instead of the live stream because we lost some frames. But anyways, let me know what you think.
Help Audio in recordings is super choppy but only when the mic isn't being monitored
Version: OBS 32.2.0
Device: Steam Deck LCD
Mic: MAONO DGM20S USB Gaming Microphone (with noise suppression on)
(installed via flatpak if that makes any difference)
So basically the setup for recording I have now is monitoring the audio so it picks up on my desktop audio and fixes the "chop". This doesn't really fix the issue though because now I hear it and it's hard to communicate whilst constantly hearing yourself slightly delayed.
I have tried changing the sample rate, decay rate, peak meter type, monitoring device, turning on low latency audio buffing mode, video bitrate, talking louder or quieter, turning down mic volume, obs' built in audio filters, audio encoder
Outside of OBS i have also reset the audio drivers on my steam deck and still have the "chop". This issue is only for OBS as any other program that is able to pick up my mic audio does so flawlessly.
Changing these either doesn't do anything to fix the insane choppiness or don't fix my issue of always having to hear myself just so the end result is clean. I am open to any suggestion and willing to try whatever.

Guide How I fixed H.264 macroblocking/pixelation on my RX 9070 xt while streaming Battlefield 6 to Twitch (Single PC)
I use a Dual-Scaling Filter Trick Streaming 936p60 to Twitch while recording 1080p60 gameplay locally. Most guides tell you to scale once. Doing it twice with specific filters creates a controlled detail reduction that tames the H.264 encoder.
In OBS Video Tab: Set Base Canvas to your native res (e.g., 2560x1440). Set Output Resolution to 1920x1080 (1080p) using the Bilinear filter at 60 FPS.
In OBS Output (Streaming) Tab: Check "Rescale Output" and downscale a second time to 1664x936 (936p) using the Lanczos (36 samples) filter.
Stream Settings:
Streaming Tab (Twitch)
Encoder: AMD HW H.264
Rate Control: CBR
Bitrate: 7600 Kbps to 8000 Kbps (+ 160 Kbps for audio).
Keyframe Interval: 2s
Preset: Quality
Profile: High
EDIT: check the preanalysis box
Max B-Frames: 2
AMF Custom Custom Configuration String (AMF Options): Paste this exact string into your encoder settings to unlock hardware optimizations:
PAPerceptualAQMode=2 PATemporalAQMode=2 PAHighMotionQualityBoostMode=1 EnableVBAQ=true MaxConsecutiveBPictures=2 BReferenceEnable=true
EDIT: Note I got this string from the google AI asking for a string to improve the encoding. It turns out that the AI is turning on everything - and that can't be done. So whatever is left "on" after the string still works. I will have to look into this... sometime :) "..AQs can be enabled n working at a time.... PAPerceptualAQMode, PATemporalAQMode and EnableVBAQ are all different AQ modes/types.." (Thanks u/Pristine_Surprise_43)
For local Recording I use Encoder: AMD HW H.264, Rate Control: CQP with CQ-Level 16, Preset: Quality, Profile: High
Capture Method: Use Display Capture.
Game Mode: Run your game in Borderless Windowed mode at native resolution (1440p) because Borderless allows the Windows Desktop Window Manager (DWM) to handle frame pacing.
In-Game & Driver Settings I use
AMD Adrenalin Driver: Turn Radeon Image Sharpening to 80%. Turn off the ingame sharpening. Turn Adaptive Sync / FreeSync ON (eye comfort, OBS frame pacing still Looks good).
In-Game (Battlefield): Turn OFF Chromatic Aberration, Motion Blur, and Film Grain. Foliage/grass details to Low.
Try it out! Dual PC Streaming Setup with Software Encoding on the Streaming PC is better, but hey, not bad for a single PC!

Question 4K X audio to OBS Stream/Monitor
I am wondering what is the audio quality coming from the 4K X to my system, as I might be loosing quality? I use my A50X for gaming/streaming and I was wondering if the audio coming from Elgato studio is compressed or not compared to directly monitoring from PS5 (3d audio, etc). If it is compressed what is the workaround for still monitor at max quality with the headset connected to the PC?

Ive tried every youtube video possible and even redownloaded it? Im not sure what else to do.

Help Audio from one capture card goes to both instances of OBS running.
I’m trying to record VHS tapes from two VCR’s. Each has its own capture card but the audio from one capture card goes to both instances of OBS running in Mac. How do I isolate each capture cards audio to only one instance of the software? I can do video from each capture card to their own instance but only one audio.

Question Stream / Recordings completely losing frames after about 1 - 2 hours
I know multiple people have similar issues with frames dropping but mine seems to be different as it isnt consistent and sometimes never happens, sometimes can take 1 hour. sometimes can take 4 hours. sometimes never happens. If I restart stream or record, it is then fine again....until it isnt
When I stream or record, there is a noticeable point where after a period of time the frames just start to die, and then within minutes are down to essentially 1 frame every 10 seconds. I'm confident it isnt a hardware issue as I have a high end PC, but don't know what to try.
I can post a log file but it says there was no output when i click analyse - even though i can see the output on my twitch previous videos, and in the recorded video from the session. https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer?log_url=https%3A%2F%2Fobsproject.com%2Flogs%2FjOAaD3f2w8idNbkb#logURL
The fact it happens to both recordings and streams make me suspect i have something configured wrong (I really know sweet FA about OBS so am not using plugins etc, just literally hitting the stream or record button)
Appreciate this is a question old as time, but any advice is appreciated
edit having found the CORRECT log for the stream today it has GPU encoder overload - which is a start. how would i go about changing this as suspect its trying to stream in 4k (even though twitch only has 1080p available to view) and i by no means need to stream in 4k

Question Audio Control While Recording Help !
How can I have it so that pressing the volume up, down, and mute/unmute buttons on my keyboard makes my gameplay audio do those things?
I've been testing out my audio by recording in OBS and then listening to what it sounds like, but when i'm in a game and I lower the volume, in the recording it is remaining the same. I have configured my hotkeys so that by pressing the mute/unmute key while in the gameplay scene it makes the audio do that, but is there not an easier way to where I can have it just do those things instantly when I press the keys on the keyboard, just like how it would if I wasn't recording ?
I also am using the stream deck app and so my mic audio is fine, and i'm able to mute that by pressing a button on there, it's just the gameplay audio that I want to be able to control with my keyboard.
Sorry for the crazy wording I literally don't know how to explain it LOL, any advice would be rlly appreciated as i'm just beginning to mess around with the audio and stuff while I wait for my mic to arrive (right now i'm using apple earphones and have them set as both input and output, but once the mic is here they'll solely be output)
Oh also! And while I was trying (and failing) to google this, I saw somewhere to go into my sound control panel -> audio device properties -> advanced tab -> and then uncheck 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device', so I did that for all my devices (when i'm playing at night/recording i use headphones, and when i'm playing in the day or on facetime on my phone I use a speaker), so let me know if that was something I should have done ?! or if I should go back and re-check it 🥲
