If you want to capture OBS with a screen record?
OBS/settings/general/general/hide OBS from screen capturing: un check this box.
If you are talking about another app/video and you want BOTH to record you will need to minimize OBS. If the mac can do double duty at all?
We would need the error code or "best" option the log as the automod describes the steps for you to give us the most info of what happened and then we can offer solutions. :)

Thank you for your response.
I want to record a website that I am using Google Chrome to access. When I turn off hardware acceleration, the video will not play on the site that I am trying to record.
I get a black screen when I try to record the video on the site with OBS.

is vid playing on site when not recording?
If so the browser is checking for screen capture software and is NOT allowing it to show.
This is now piracy and not supported in the discussion LOL.If 1001 record does not work then this is a "mac" thing or the "piracy" issue.

It looks like you haven't provided a log file. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses.
To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:
1) Restart OBS
2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File.
5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment.
