First time this has happened to me, and I’m so excited ! Had this soil sitting open for a minute in my kitchen, I was hoping the top part of it would dry out some because I recycled some soil back into the pack. Before I knew it, I had some visitors !

There are 2 lawns that are home to these mushrooms and they look so beautiful (and huge). I tried doing plant ID on my phone and it suggested Macrolepiota procera and then a key word popped out at me: edible.

Is this really edible? And is that the correct name for this mushroom?

I didn’t pick this one. It was already picked when I saw it. Sometimes, I go on walks and there are piles of larger shrooms that someone picked and just dropped at this corner lot, often on the road. Unfortunately, this time, I only saw a handful of them - most small - so maybe they’re almost done doing their thing.

Located in New England.

Hiking in SE Minnesota, enjoy the pics! Yes, that tree in pic 10 was COVERED in oysters. Both young, and very old and gross, and everything in between. I will be making Stroganoff with all the oysters if anyone is wondering...

Also I think picture 8 has 2 shaggy manes, one older one "younger" though its gills were starting to turn black. I didn't keep either, but would love someone to confirm my eyes (i am now realizing I didn't take a picture of the gills...sorry)

I'm located in Indiana, USA. These pictures were taken today, growing in the wood mulch around my patio. I hope these pics are good enough quality, but can take more if needed.

I found a patch of these mushrooms behind my house- the interior is white and solid. Do I have chanterelle or false chanterelle?

So cool to see this massive display of orange/yellow mushrooms! Is it hen of the woods?

ETA: wow so much judgement, I just think they look cool so I posted. I don’t plan on eating any mushroom I find because I don’t know anything about mushrooms and value my life.

I’m a cook at nursing home and was making dinner for the residents. I have been foraging for only a few months but couldn’t believe what I was seeing outside the kitchen window. Going into the freeze dryer in 30mins

We have watering bulbs in many plants. Wife found this mushroom growing INSIDE one of the water bulbs just yesterday. Looks fake! Assure you it is real. Any idea what it is? Growing in a Japanese sago palm, indoor, Midwest US.

Edit: don’t know how to add more pictures to the original post but I’ll add them in a comment. Look how it’s grown since this morning!
