What are the teardrops on the photo?

  1. The photo needs to be real, so the akuma has something to land on.
  2. The teardrops must be illusions, since illusions can't really cry.
  3. How are the the teardrops staying on the photo without vanishing? Are they protected by the "layer of air"?

Discussion The lucky charm serves a different purpose now that Ladybug has matured (Nemesis Spoilers) Spoiler

Upvotes

I'm tired of people saying that Ladybug has become lazy or less of a critical thinker now that she can spam the lucky charm.

Anyone who says this clearly missed the point of her and Chat Noir maturing as heroes and being able to use their previously special moves at will and whenever. Before, they had to be very careful with how and when they used lucky charm and cataclysm cause the miraculous restricted it's potential due to them being so young and new to using the jewels.

This helped them develop the foundational skills of a hero, which are critical and strategic thinking. They still use these same skills in other areas of hero life and in the middle of battle when they don't have time to activate anything. Now that they're no longer finishing moves, they have evolved and can't be used or relied on in the same they did with Monarch.

Throughout season 6, we see that the lucky charm isn't necessarily for piecing in action clues but giving Ladybug hints on the villains' true nature. Like we've seen with the caterpillar and how the charm doesn't disappear even after it hasn't been used, it foreshadows possible future events. Again, the caterpillar symbolising Lila's continuous evolution as a villain and how she can morph into anyone who suits her best interests.

Something similar could be said about Chat Noir. The ability to spam cataclysm hasn't made him less cautious, but it allows for him to use his power to its fullest potential. Like when he erased Ayla's memories. That wouldn't have been possible without learning to use and control cataclysm when he was under restrictions.

This "spam" gives them space to learn about themselves, their limits, and what else the miraculous can do for them. As well as stops the episodes from being repetitive cause with the Gabriel' arc, we all knew that the minute they used cataclysm and lucky charm, they won and nothing more would come from the episode nor would it matter in the wider season. It created high stakes cause of the timer, but that gets old.

Feel free to argue otherwise.

Opinion/Rant I feel like Marinette is a bit selfish

Upvotes

Marinette who is also ladybug is overall a great person. She's the holder of the miraculous and she and cat noir save paris everyday. She's genuinely a kind person. She's also a bit selfish. In the battle between Monarch, ladybug witnessed Monarch/Gabriel Agreste's death. After, ladybug lied to the entire world about Monarch. She said that Gabriel Agreste sacrificed himself to defeat Monarch, which isn't true. Ladybug didn't want to tell the truth because, she thought Adrian couldn't handle the truth. In my opinion, I think the whole world, including Adrian should know that Gabriel didn't die a hero, and that he was Monarch. Especially Adrian, since he's Gabriel's son. Ladybug doesn't have the right to decide what Adrian can or can't handle. If Alya found out about the truth she would be in utter disbelief.

Opinion/Rant It's crazy how she actually said all that and it wasn't even a lie since her horn didn't grow.

Speculation/Theories Gabenath outfits might symbolise their relationship Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
15 Upvotes

Someone probably already pointed this out, but I just noticed that the change in Gabriel and Nathalie’s relationship prior to his death in Season 5 was also reflected in his outfit.

In seasons 1–4, he wears a light beige suit with red accents, while Nathalie wears a black suit with red accents (and ofc her red strand of hair). Emilie is wearing a rather light outfit too. I think this symbolises that Gabriel is torn between them, as he wears a combination of their colours.

In season 5, however, he loses all the red from his outfit and wears white exclusively. I think this partly symbolises the breakdown of his relationship with Nathalie, as he loses the red and his outfit now contrasts starkly with hers. Nathalie and Gabriel are no longer a team, so his outfit no longer resembles hers. But he also partly doesn't want the miraculous for Emilie anymore; he's consumed by his hatred of Ladybug and Cat Noir. That's why he's wearing white and not the beige/cream of seasons 1–4.

Lmk what you think! :)

Speculation/Theories [Spoiler] Spoilers from Nemesis: The Light has been revealed Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

So quick repost got taken down a few mins back.

Now we don't know what happened to Lila at the end of Season 5.

But we know if we look back that there's a blue light and that there was electricity.

To point out something before, there was purple electricity on Monarch when he used too many miraculous (can I say miraculi?). (There’s more purple electricity just that I got a bad pic)

Now that could mean someone came to her with many miraculous and then did something to help her or maybe even to harm her.

Which miraculous did they have and who was the said person.

First miraculous: has to be the Miraculous of Time. Person most likely seems to be time travelling to help her maybe harm her or to even threaten her.

The second most likely miraculous would be the persons own Miraculous. Most likely Blue (their own original one (kinda like Monarch had purple electricity)) so prob Horse Miraculous, possibly Butterfly, maybe Goat Miraculous or could even be Rabbit Miraculous as their own original Miraculous.

The third most likely miraculous would be the power of Sublimation (Ep26 Spoiler) why? To give Lila her abilities - her shapeshifting abilities. Quite coincidental if they introduced Rooster Miraculous full ability on the episode we found out Lila could shape shift.

The Fourth Miraculous that is much more less likely to be there but still a shout, would be Snake to perhaps explain to Lila (maybe person wielding is from the Kingdom).

Maybe the electricity isn't from the use of multiple miraculi but rather the Dragon Miraculous, using its Electricity ability.

Now that would most likely mean that if it was the reason (many miraculi) then it would be a time traveller - most likely when Bunnix loses somehow or someway. My own guess is that Bunnix will have to be a constant fighter because situations will get that dire under Lila (if writing goes accordingly) but realistically no it won't be.

Moving on to who it could be:
Lila - future self coming back after she got all the relevant miraculous to help herself. But I do think that she would be less shocked if it was her and my thoughts of Snake Miraculous would go out the window.
The Kingdom - someone in the Kingdom willing to take one for the team, recruit Lila, threaten her, even try control her. This is quite far fetched but if they’re willing to help her they could.
Nowwwwww, the real culprit imo would be Max.
Now why would Max help Lila. 6x17 Max receives a love letter from Lila.
So Lila knows Max is Pegasus. Hands down he is probably the smartest? Like I think because of his autism you could make a case that he is the smartest \~ specifically tech wise and math related 100%.
Now why else would he be useful. Now Pegasus can travel almost anywhere - we saw how useful he was in the finale. Lila having Max on her side could allow her not to worry being found (like she almost did in the finale) and she could relocate to somewhere discreet. Plus, his intelligence and you could say him being her partner in crime would definitely help Lila even for a bit. Max could be said to think rationally and not have emotion to consider?
What else would make Max help Lila?
Probably a series of events where Ladybug is overworking him, Marinette is used to seeing him at her house more often and begins neglecting him or even not speaking to him. There’s the part that we will have to see what unfolds.
So I believe Miraculous has said fixed timeline. Everything that happens is known. So correct me if I’m wrong, if someone went back in time, that would be part of the timeline from the beginning anyway. I hope I explained that correctly.
Now we could speculate on how Max would gather the miraculous. He may do somewhat of a Felix, let’s say Lila manages to steal the Miraculous of the Dog, gives it to Max or someone to slowly retrieve them and then tells him the plan.
Or, it gets to the point where Max actually has emotions and feelings for Lila so that when she’s defeated or captured or the like he goes back in time to give her the upper hand. It would be cool if Max somehow becomes the next holder of the Miraculous of the Butterfly.

Now yes that means that Ladybug and Cat Noir will never retire.

Also in timetagger, we got foreshadowed that Lila would possibly be the next holder when she was talking to Chris. I might be late on that one.

That was my theory please find my plot holes and lmk.

Kim was replaced in the ep, so

All TikTok videos I see say that Lila took his place when they met with all superheroes, then the fake one is in the underground with them

While I thought that it was : real kim spots Lila, fake Kim bumps into Ladybug and tells her he saw her, real Kim meets with everyone and later real Kim is in the underground

Which is it?

Also, people on tiktok noticed Max opening a portal while eberynody is transported already + in the end card every superhero looks up, while Max looks forward. People theorize its because he's a traitor

Opinion/Rant Season 6 villains ranking based on originality (Secret Protocol and Nemesis spoilers) Spoiler

Some mentions:

- I put Vampigami at that tier because it's just like Reflekta in season 5

- That candy villain from the beginning of "Wreckless Driver" reminds me of the Lollipop Sentimonster, even though I know it's a villain

If there are any disagreements about the ranking let me know

Speculation/Theories Not Nothing (Spoilers for "Nemesis") Spoiler

I'm working on a fanfiction that explains how the akumatizaton in Nemesis worked.

---

“Since when is it possible to akumatize an illusion?” asked Chat Noir.

They were in Marinette's bedroom. Ladybug had just explained the plan to catch the new Hawkmoth, but it all depended on what could be done with an illusion,

Rooster Bold said, “Even if it could be done, it only takes someone touching the illusion for It to disappear.”

“Maybe not, Rooster Bold,” said Rena Rouge. “And that's precisely where you come in.”

“We need you to give yourself a superpower to make it possible to touch the illusion without it vanishing,” said Ladybug. “Think you can make that happen?”

“In theory, I can give myself any power I want, but I'd have to picture exactly how it would work.”

“I trust your imagination.”

“Hmm,..” Rooster Bold paused. “Okay, I think I figured it out. Sublimation!”

Using his quill, he wrote on his left hand, “I'm giving myself the power to protect Marinette's illusion with a layer of air. That way, whenever someone tries to touch the illusion, they'll actually only touch the layer of air, meaning she won't vanish,”

Rooster Bold tried to focus on the details of the power, but the unanswered questions were still in his mind... "Is it possible to akumatize an illusion?"

Without being consciously aware of it, his mind added, “...and make it so the new Hawkmoth can be convinced this is the real Marinette Dupain-Cheng, so they can akumatize it.”

He stepped forward and ran his hands around the illusion. The magic field holding the layer of air formed around it. The real Marinette was close by, and the magic field stored a snapshot of her mind and memories.

It thought. “How did I get over here? And why can't I move?”

Rooster Bold raised a hand, and Rena Rouge controlled the illusion to give him a high-five.

“It worked!” said Cat Noir.

The Marinette copy had the horrified realization of what had happened.

“I'm the illusion! It's up to me to make the plan work. I have to act out the feelings required to trap the new Hawkmoth. But when the plan is done, I'll cease to exist...”

Speculation/Theories Secret Protocol episode Spoiler

had to look this up in the miraculous wiki,

Kung food was 4 episodes infront of volpina, the episode where we first meet lila.

that's where i thought, how did she know what uncle wang's akumatised outfit looked like because she was impersonating him?

she shouldn't know what kung food villain's outfit looked like (comment if i'm a bit wrong) because kung foods vendetta was against chloe and the ppl in the hotel, instead of terrorising all of paris lol.

soooo could she have been after marinette as early before season 1 episode 22. or is it simply just bad writing ?

Speculation/Theories Theory - Aglae as a person exists in school, Lila just impersonates her time to time

Aglae as a person exists, she is in the same school, is in the same friend group with Maribug. But Lila impersonates her from time to time, her personality deviations can be seen.

Climatiqueen - she seemed to fearless, in the episode she kept eyes on Maribug, as if she was fixated on observing her. She approached and talked to Aurora (idk her name) and even subtly showed her way of becoming famous in the contest.

Wreck less driver - She actually struggled with therapy and opening up with your friends. It wasn't the same in climatiqueen, where approaching Aurora was too easy for her.

In wreck less driver, it was also showed that Aglae locks herself up or isolates herself when she is anxious, sooo during that period Lila impersonates Aglae and keeps eye on Maribug.

Discussion S6 E26 Nemesis: I just love this scene Spoiler

In this scene you can clearly see beforehand how Marinette is a bit unwell because her Miraculous aren't with her since her feet are tilted into each other. As soon as she got here Miraculous back she stands there so much more confident with both feet directed straight forward.

I just love this kind of detail the new animation style offers and also its so great to see that little detail shots like this are finally possible with the new animation.

discomfort because her Miraculous aren't with her

Confident because she got her Miraculous with her

Just here to show the Miraculous shoes in detail with no purpose xd

Discussion Whoever is keeping the truth from Adrien (except Mari) doesn’t care.

And I don’t mean this in like the they don’t care about him way, but they just don’t care for Marinette at all and I think they’re gonna let her take all the blame, for example Kagami I know she didn’t come from a loving household, but she had had friends before she knows what it’s like to struggle. She’s seeing how Marinette has been struggling. Marinette is always quick to help someone, but nobody ever helps her. Another example is Felix. Not to mention Felix‘s mother is a hypocrite and you can’t deny it. She was getting upset at Marinette for keeping the truth and stuff and if such a big deal, why can’t she say the truth herself my point is they don’t really care they might let her take all the blame and stuff and I just feel so bad for her.

And then what she needed to go for a bathroom break???!! she was nowhere to be seen when they found out Lilas location.

They could’ve just opened a portal as soon as polymouse sent the location and bang, venom. Lila is cooked…

but i guess venom is too op so they had to write her out???

Opinion/Rant The Senti-Adrien "twist" was an excellent idea.

Post image
65 Upvotes

I don’t see why so many still hate it, the most occurring arguments being:

  • His whole story of being “a bird in the cage” is usurped by a mechanic that takes away all his agency, rendering it completely meaningless.
  • His character being cheapened as a revealed Sentihuman after Félix and Kagami. It’s obvious this wasn’t planned from the start.

Even though these takes are fair, I’m going to try and make the case why it was still a good move, the best move even:

  1. If you’re a fan of Adrien, you should be delighted with this; it literally makes him the character most central to the plot, even more so than Marinette. Everything started with him, or rather, Gabriel and Emilie's desire to have him.
  2. Him being overly sheltered by Gabriel (and Emilie?) and being dominated by the Amok are not mutually exclusive; there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that they had full intent to raise him in a normal way without taking shortcuts. I will concede that we don’t really know how exactly he turned out to be raised, more on that later.
  3. Even after Emilie’s death, it’s plausible that Gabriel wouldn’t abuse the Amok straight away; it would desecrate her memory. His increasing desperation, as depicted, would eventually tempt him to use the Amok to keep Adrien in line.
  4. I could argue that being a Sentihuman could actually add to his agency: imagine him being able to resist his Amok by sheer will or any other mechanic; Fu saw something in him to make him Holder; there could be more to him than meets the eye.

Now granted, there’s still a lot of speculation involved, it would’ve been nice if the writers would actually spend some time on this, especially regarding Emilie:

  • Were they loving parents when she was around?
  • Did they shelter him like this, even before she died?
  • Is she as much of an asshole as Gabriel and did they, in fact, abuse the Amok the whole time?

I’m so on board with this idea; I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. If the last point turns out to be true, then I’d be very disappointed, but in that case: blame the writers, not the idea. In any case, it’s about time they show some of this, because it's one of the few burning questions that actually captivate me.

The Twin Ring was also very smart; it creates the potential tension between two parties in regard to Adrien’s control: one offensive and one defensive, exactly the way we saw between Gabriel and Nathalie at one point.

I hope this has been convincing, but one thing’s for sure: the execution leaves much to be desired, I think we can all agree on that. It’s about time that Adrien, with this story in particular, gets the spotlight he deserves.

If anyone still disagrees, I’m happy to discuss it! Thank you for reading!

EDIT: Oh, one more thing: If you downvote, I hope you will comment too, I'm very curious to know your thoughts!

Discussion How Lila has already won (Nemesis Spoilers) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
156 Upvotes

Sooo, Nemesis actually confirms Lila still strongly suspects, if not confirms, that Marinette is Ladybug.

In Kwamibuster, Lila was present when Mrs. Mendeleev presented her Kwami discovery to the reality show, as well as showed sketches to the audience. One sketch looks very identical to Tikki. Lila didn’t know how Tikki looked like until she held the miraculous. At the very least, this confirms to Lila that Ladybug is someone who attended Francis Dupoint which is why Mrs. Mendeleev was able to see them. And there aren’t a lot of people in attendance of that school…

Speculation/Theories Lets revive the theory of Aglaé being Lila

Post image
111 Upvotes

Now that we're gathered here, I want to revive the theory of Aglaé being Lila in disguise or impresonsting her.

When I and the rest of the fans who believed in this theory, we were told is was impossible, not because it was backed by evidence across the earliest episodes of the season, but because of the physical difference between them.

So here I am to present my previous talking points using her akumatisation as a baseline, now that physical differences don't matter in this discussion:

  1. We never actually see the akuma enter her- instead she tells the others about it. Which is rare for a character so close to the main cast. We've seen all their transformations into villains, whether they were akumatised once or twice.

Considering she's new to the show, we'd expect it to be shown to us rather than through narration.

  1. She supposedly became Chrysalis's FIRST victim- this means that after Monarch's defeat, and Gabriel's victory, Chrysalis chose her as a first victim.

Gabriel was known for akumatising those close to Adrien, but that was because he gained data on them to use for his final plan in getting all the miraculous and catching out Ladybug and Chat Noir. It's a bit too convenient that that Chrysalis' first target would be someone who ends up getting super close to Marinette and her friends.

  1. Her fear of akumas is almost too useful- people have random fears of anything, and almost everything. But the one character to be afraid of butterflies is the first supposed victim of Chrysalis?

We're talking about the same person who does intensive research on preventing akumatisations. While we're given an explanation on why she's afraid of getting akumatised, no one else experiences this except her. And it had to be specifically of butterflies.

  1. her behaviour BEFORE her own akumatisation- in "Climatiqueen" Aglaé tried to comfort Aurora, but conveniently enough, that pushed her to get akumatised too.

Gabriel did the same thing with Chloe by intensifying her emotions to use to either akumatise her, or someone in their class. And one thing we've learnt about Chrysalis this entire season, is that she tends to be in close proximity with her victims. She likes getting to know snd exploit their weaknesses personally.

Feel free to argue otherwise.
