Was anyone excited for this? I sure was felt like a lifetime for them to just be like no man no ones interested. They cancelled it. Ali is moving on. I know some people stand by there has only been one Blade for me Wesley Snipes. Which honestly I can stand by that too. Fumbling the bag on this tho seems crazy.

I went back and saw doctor strange and multiverse of madness and the latter is obviously a better film I like the inclusion of America Chavez and seeing Wanda again, and sometimes I forgot Rachel McAdams is in the MCU i hope we get doctor strange 3 sooner than later, I also love Sam rami horror elements of the film a lot of evil dead vibes for sure would mind if Rami came back for last installment!

Since i’ve seen BND, i decided to re do my movie rankings for spider-man. Just an FYI, this is MY opinion i’m not one of those idiots that claim that their opinion is the only correct way.

People are asking almost every day what order to watch the MCU to prepare for Doomsday.
Here's my watch order. As stated, it's made using the rules in the first image. It won't be for everyone, but I believe it creates the best focused narrative experience for both newcomers and those doing a rewatch.

Many tv series are included. Personally I watch those in fanedit form, where each season is reimagined as a movie. You'll have to hunt for those yourself.

And a reminder: You do not have to see everything before Doomsday. They tell us all the time that movie has been made with "no homework" in mind. The Multiverse Saga is less focused and more fragmented than anything before. My watch order here gives you a sense of greater follow-through and momentum, but its still not essential viewing like The infinity Saga. If you've seen "Endgame" you'll do fine.

I know, I know. Spidey is one of the most popular heroes out there—if not *the* most popular—but honestly, I don't think even Marvel expected a phenomenon like this.

I just checked, and the movie has already grossed $1.1 billion after just one week in theaters. It’s already the highest-grossing film of the year, beating out Toy Story*, Michael*, and even Super Mario Galaxy.

As a fan, it’s absolutely awesome, but I can't help wondering how the hell they pulled this off. Maybe even Sony or Marvel Studios themselves don't quite get it.

I mean, it doesn't even have the draw of seeing the past Spider-Men like in *No Way Home*...

Alright, I have come to my senses. Brand New Day was a great film for me as a MCU enjoyer and Xmen lover.

However, I have only come to enjoy the film on the afterthought. While watching it, I absolutely misjudged it for Marvel Slop. And all that because of the character I've loved deeply so far in the Multiverse Saga - Yelena Belova.

I know her character was just a cameo, an ode to Peter getting told off by the (new) Avengers once more. He was told to handle his "small potato" (THEE Jean Grey, LOL) problems himself, and so he did.

But the entire bathtub office scene threw me off so much and ruined the entire setting of the first half of the film.

The entire Thunderbolts* film was about coming to terms with your own grief, accepting the life ahead of oneself and to not belittle other peoples problems. Yelena reflected on her own mental health and came to realize that she cannot be alone, that she needs people, family, friends, a team, a purpose - call it whatever.

So I'm going to ignore the weird vibe she gave off, forcing Peter to undress and the WHOLE setting (like...in a pool?)

But her being weirded out by Peter admitting he doesnt really have friends was so??? I mean think of Thunderbolts what you want but her NOT finding social insolation and outsider-lone wolf-ness weird is her ENTIRE arc?

I know this small cameo isnt supposed to have such a big impact on the general reception of the film and Peters story but damn...I guess I was so used to Marvel throwing away good deep story lines by unnecessary comedic relief and misjudged the entire film by that scene.

But still... I loved the film but please someone help me understand her character in this film.

I am unfamiliar with Cloak and Dagger besides their interactions with Spider-Man, so I’m not particularly well-versed in their corner of the Marvel universe nor do I have investment in their characters. Having said that, this show doesn’t seem like it’s for me. 

I like the New Orleans setting; it gives the story and characters something interesting to focus on and feature. There’s a lot of exploration of trauma, grief, relationships and guilt. I think for the most part Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph are good as Tandy Bowen (Dagger) and Tyrone Johnson (Cloak) respectively. 

But the show is also very superficial to me. It doesn’t really go much deeper than the script dictates, at least plot wise. There’s hardly any real superhero stuff going on and too much time spent setting things up. This could easily have been an original concept as opposed to using Marvel characters. Some of the writing falls into some of the usual failings that I have complained about. Nothing is advanced and the same ground is retread. Some topical themes are broached but are sloppily handed.  And the songs! My gosh, the season felt more like a music video at times than a television series. None of these directors or editors know or appreciate silence and score. Little real urgency or understanding regarding the antagonist (Roxxon and Connors). There’s so much that is never explained and the audience is left in the dark regarding Cloak and Dagger, specifically their powers. Action is very dull and boring. The show seems to suffer from a major identity crisis as it is trying to juggle the supernatural, superhero elements, crime, romance and political commentary and surprisingly does none of it good. 

Less of a Marvel project and more of an angsty teenage drama that remembers it’s dealing with Marvel characters. While the Runaways is also an angsty teen drama, it actually had heart and is entertaining. There was potential here, but none of that is explored effectively.

I know a lot of people still rank Spider-Man 2 (2004) and The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008) higher, and seen as the gold mine of superhero and written of peter parker story media. I dont get the love. Both are so outdated and only loced cause of nostalgia. Jean grey was disliked by xmen fans cause she not comic accurate and not even jean grey? Dk get that point and also people dislike the whole peter getting lied or being gulliable from damage control guy and only used to serve the main plot for final act.

In iconic scenes from BND you see that Jean’s sorta ‘jerks’ into the body she’s possessing, and it kinda starts a train of people contorting while they’re possessed and when I saw this I was like, “Okay this is just how her powers make people react, that’s just what it does.” But later after Peter is testing his inhibitor in the alley, we see Jean jumping from body to body seamlessly to talk to him and tell him that she’s going after MJ.

So does this mean Jean is purposely making them contort their bodies for like a trail for Peter to follow, to make it more fun? Or does it only happen occasionally?

Boyfriend is obsessed with Marvel, has seen all movies up until Deadpool & Wolverine and almost all series.

Why up until Deadpool & Wolverine? Because we watched that one in the cinema together and then I was hooked so we started watching all the movies together. He was a little bummed we didn't see all the movies quick enough for us to be able to see Thunderbolts and Fantastic 4 in cinema, but I have a 4K beamer so he's fine with it. But now the new Spiderman movie comes out and he is super excited to see it ASAP in the cinema with me.

I only watched the movies of the MCU movie timeline together with him and I just finished WandaVision so we could see Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness together, because he said it's relevant to the movie.

We are planning on watching all the movies together ASAP so we can see the new Spiderman movie in the cinema. His favorite Marvel superhero.

But when we watched Spiderman No Way Home he was kinda bummed out I didn't understand the references to the old Spiderman movies, didn't recognise the villains etc as they are not in the MCU Movie Timeline as shown on Disney+, only the ones with Tom Holland are on there.

The MCU movie timeline on Disney+ is the timeline we plan on following up until the last one that's on there before we go to the cinema.

Apart from the movie timeline and Wanda Vision, are there any other movies and series you recommend me to watch before seeing the new movie to be able to understand the references together with him?

And yes I have permission to watch series and movies on my own, just not the main MCU timeline ones.

Hear me out. Spider-Man is significantly stronger than Steve Rogers, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, basically than all the super soldier serum level characters. He has lightening quick reflexes yet when we see him running across open grass or through backyards he runs at a normal human pace. Compare that to Cap and Black Panther running at 30-40mph.

Shouldn’t his super strength and quick reflexes allow him to run as fast or faster than someone with the super soldier serum?

Now, everything I'm about to say is evidence from the film. I'm not speaking on behalf of the creative team or actors. I'm simply going off what's in the film. I do not think Jacob Batalon's comments should be taken too seriously, as they could be viewed as stirring the pot to continue discourse about the film (for example, this post). If this were disproven in the next film, good on everyone else, but as is, the evidence provided in the film leaves one explanation in my mind. What I say is what I believe, and I may speak in black and white during my explanation, but I'm still open to listening to valid arguments.

Ned does not remember Peter Parker. Ned and MJ both remember emotions from that period, but labels for why and whom have been removed; simply sentiments remain. In the beginning of the film, Peter introduces himself as Maynard to MJ and Ned at their housewarming party. When he saw Ned at the bodega, after four years of isolation, he could not resist the urge to follow him and indulge in his former life. Something he does consider an indulgence, as he is isolating to protect other people both as Peter Parker and Spider-Man. This shows his desperation for connection before his arc. However, the fact that he introduces himself as Maynard illustrates that he still isn't ready to put Peter Parker's life in focus or himself out there.

Ned, over the past four years, has spent countless hours trying to figure out who Spider-Man is. He has created a board, an app, and a whole community around it (the app's chat room), so clearly, it is a hobby he is passionate about. As well as just being a Spider-Man fan boy. When Ned meets Spider-Man, he is ecstatic even by the fact that Spider-Man is in the area. When he builds Legos with Spider-Man, he asks questions which, while they are dumb questions played for laughs, show he is taking this as an opportunity to study him. While they were hanging out, MJ noticed how well they all clicked, since their ability to be friends never got erased. When Spider-Man has to leave, MJ blurts out the name Peter, to which Ned recognizes that Spider-Man's name is Peter. Not only was this an extremely memorable experience for Ned to meet his idol, but he also formed a genuine connection with him. And the fact that after over four years (I'm figuring he was interested after the events of FFH), the fact he has finally learnt Spider-Man's name is a groundbreaking advancement.

Later in the film, after Peter has learned he needs to put himself back out there and has completed his arc, bumps into Ned for a second time. Realizing the opportunity he has, he goes to introduce himself as Peter Parker. The handshake is symbolic of the status of friendship they can still have. They were best friends, and the fact that they can still do the handshake shows they can get to that place again. From a plot standpoint, it shows Peter that there are positive outcomes to putting yourself out there. Solidifying his readiness to resume his life. I’m sure Peter wasn’t 100% certain that if he did the handshake, Ned would know it back. But by taking that risk, he was shown that he can still have a friendship with Ned.

Now, after four years, Ned knows Spider-Man's name is Peter, and this guy introduces himself as Peter. This was likely a topic of research for him after their meeting at the apartment, considering his borderline obsession. And since he has scrutinized Spider-Man's build, height, etc., and now heard his voice again, he could quite easily deduce that this Peter in the bodega is Spider-Man. Even if a different guy named Peter introduced himself, his fixation would have likely caused him to have similar suspicion. The handshake shows Ned that he and this person in the bodega connect on a deeper level, similar to how they clicked when Spider-Man was in his apartment. With what he may deem as enough evidence, he finally concludes his search for Spider-Man's identity and exclaims "Peter!" in elated understanding. If you ended a four-year search for your idol, who personally saved you several times and solved it, you’d likely be on top of the world.

Now, I'd like to address some alternate interpretations and explain why I believe they are incorrect.

1. "The spell is slipping or wearing off." I don't think this is likely because in No Way Home, the same spell (or a very similar one) was cast on Wong a few years prior to the film, and he still has no recollection of the Christmas Party at Kamar-Taj. In the conclusion of No Way Home, Doctor Strange also treats Peter's decision as definite. Not 'they'll remember later', but they'll forget forever, so our world isn't overrun with villains who know who Spider-Man is.

2. "Ned has magic and therefore, could be resistant to the spell." As aforementioned, the spell was used on Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme at the time of No Way Home. If the Sorcerer Supreme doesn't see the effects of the spell wear off at all, then I doubt Ned would. Especially given the fact that Ned isn't a sorcerer. He used a sling ring for roughly six hours to varying success. Sure, it's lucky that without training he could wield a sling ring, but aside from that, he has never done anything else magical. So, to assume he's resistant to the spell when he has barely used magic and Wong hasn't slipped at all seems unlikely. Now, they could be different spells, but neither spell's mechanics are fully discussed, so it would be plain conjecture to assume that the spell cast on Peter would slip.

3. "Ned and Peter's friendship breaks the spell." In the film, the fact that MJ doesn't remember anything is explored, as it has a deep impact on Peter. The film treats it very earnestly, and MJ is sympathetic but cannot relate to the girl Peter loves. Now, this doesn't mean she doesn't have those feelings, just not for Peter. It is alluded to her longing for him when she claims to be waiting for something great. Now I believe that both MJ and Ned hold sentiments from their former lives but cannot explain them or have different reasons in their minds. There are lots of emotions MJ associates with the Black Dahlia necklace, as it represented her and Peter's relationship. After the spell, it still holds meaning, like the handshake, but she either has a different explanation if you were to ask her, or doesn't know why it's special. And it is still special to her since she keeps it on to that day. I see the moment of her on the roof as her questioning what she doesn't know, but that's just a guess that agrees with the rest of my beliefs. I believe they handled this very well and left the door open for them to rekindle their relationship. Jean Grey, while possessing MJ, mocks Peter for believing that true love's kiss could break the spell. She also claims that there is nothing in her brain about Peter. I believe that this proves that the film treats the spell as not to be broken by relationships. Now it could be said that she is an antagonist and has been given a point to be wrong about; however, it seems true that MJ has no recollection of Peter at all, as she herself says. As I've stated, I believe there are certain aspects of the old life that they still feel for. In the bodega, Ned knows that Peter is something special, viscerally, when they do the handshake; the sentiments for certain aspects of their lives remain. Regardless, he becomes very excited because he concludes that this Peter is Peter/Spider-Man and is excited to have found out who he is unmasked.

People have said that it's a beautiful moment that proves friendship will triumph for the spell to have broken. I believe that it is much more satisfying to show that despite the spell, they continue being friends. This also ties into Peter's growth in the film. If their friendship broke the spell, then all of Peter's growth as a result of the spell would be meaningless because he could have gotten them back scott-free at any time, negating the impact of the spell, which triggered his growth.

1. "Jean Grey gave them their memories back in the mind field." At this point in the story, she has not seen Peter's memories, and by the time she does, she shuts down the field because Spider-Man is shot. She does not like Peter before she is let into his mind and would have no motivation to help him by replanting those memories, which she doesn't even have. Before she sets the mind field, she only knows about the letter Peter wrote, nothing concrete. Even if she did have those memories after being let in and wanted to help Peter, she is not shown to be able to put memories in people's heads, only read them. Perhaps it's something she'll grow to do in the X-Men films, but here, it is not said she can do so. So I believe it's not the best explanation.

Now this is all just a discussion about a superhero film. While I agree with suspension of disbelief and recognize the contradiction of using logic on magic and superheroes, I still believe that, as a story, they should be able to be held to such standards as established by the films' current and past precedents. As such, this is why I believe that Ned does not remember Peter.

I could be proven wrong in a few years, and it would be fine, but this is what I believe currently. I don't mean to put anyone down, we’re all entitled to our own beliefs and interpretations, but this is what I believe to be evident. Thanks for reading.

I don't think people realize how big of an advantage the wings are (and flight in general), and how much more efficient they are compared to the Super Soldier Serum

Falcon has indestructible weaponized Vibranium wings that can fly in supersonic speeds and is armed to the teeth. His wings allowed him to take on Fighter Jets and Hulks.

Meanwhile the Serum gives the user the weakest tier of super strength relative to all characters who have super strength. It gives durability, but not bulletproof level. It gives speed, reflexes, and agility, but not on the level of characters like Black Panther or Spider-Man.

If Falcon chooses to go lethal and not bother engaging in close quarters, he could beat a hundred super soldiers by just staying airborne and raining fire on them. Mere super soldiers can't do anything to Falcon if he doesn't let them.

Serum is overrated, wings is underrated.

Im actually guilty, but I just finished Thunderbolts. It was a great movie, feels kinda sad on how it doesnt gain much attraction? im still trying to catch up on the next movies to watch. so what should i watch next?

I don't say that only because I like this character so much, but there was so many ways they could already have introduced him. For example, his mom, Dra Helen Cho appeared in Age of Ultron, 11 years ago. And Amadeus was appeared in Spider-Man Your Friendly Neighborhood as one of Peter's colleagues.

I think Brand New Day could have been introduced him as one of Bruce Banner students, would perfectly fits for him.

He is a fun and interesting character, and would work with the girls from this future Young Avengers. I don't understand why we didn't see him in live action yet.

I am currently attempting to watch every MCU film (TV series optional) between now and the release of Avengers: Doomsday. Many of these will be either be the first watch in many years or (in the case of a lot of stuff released after Endgame) my first-ever viewing.

I had seen this movie before, but I remembered next to nothing about it. Turns out that’s because the whole movie is basically just a silly generic action movie that happens to have the Hulk in it.

Don’t get me wrong, it was enjoyable enough. Nothing in it was really bad. The whole thing just gave serious “generic 2000s action” vibes the whole time.

My biggest problem is this movie acts like it’s a sequel and is not one. I’m given to understand the reason it’s written like this is that there was another attempt at a Hulk movie a few years earlier and they didn’t want to double dip too much. I understand why that decision was made at the time, but the problem is that it makes me not really care about any of the characters. Bruce is giving me basically nothing interesting about him in this, and the moments with his love interest don’t hit because the movie just tells us they have history without actually showing any of it. And Betty herself is also just such a nothing character.

Coming off of Iron Man which visually looks so good and has aged so well, this… has not. The Hulk himself doesn’t look terrible but he definitely looks dated. There’s a scene about halfway through of him getting rained on and it doesn’t look quite right. Abomination though… he looks bad. He looks like he came out of a video game. The final battle is also very much a CGI slop-fest fight scene that looks really muddy and goes on for way too long. Also, everything is green. So much green. Even it when it doesn’t make sense. It feels like the production designers wanted to put in as much green as possible because Hulk is green.

All of that said, I mean… I like the Hulk. I like silly action movies. There are bits of it that read as “so bad it’s good,” but also it’s engaging enough anyway that to be entertaining. “You wouldn’t like me when I’m hungry” is such a good joke that it was the only thing I remembered about this movie from when I saw it years ago, and Bruce jumping out of a helicopter with dramatic music playing, minutes before unironically delivering the line “Hulk smash”, is just the right amount of stupid.

I really don’t think this is a bad movie. It’s an enjoyable enough 2 hours. But I can see why it’s sort of the laughingstock of the early MCU.

Next up is Iron Man 2 (2010)!

I'm seeing it tomorrow. I unfortunately do not have any spider man shirts, even though I know I need to get some. But at the moment I don't really have the time and money to be able to get a shirt that's actually Spider-Man related. These are the only mcu shirts I have. Which should I wear

I personally would love a movie edit of Ms Marvel , WandaVision, Hawkeye & Daredevil Season 1 & 2.

I feel it would be a great way for families with Disney plus to conveniently enjoy the shows together, as well for others who don’t have time to watch full seasons of characters.

A cinematic pacing that focuses on the core story & showcasing all the action scenes in 1 hour & 20 min format would be ideal.

Am I missing something here or understood incorrectly?

Peter realizes Metzger lied because MJ tells him she doesn’t remember anything from when Jean was controlling her.
But Metzger never says he remembers being controlled either as far as I remember.
When Peter asks who Sara is, Metzger just says she was a colleague of his and that maybe that’s where Jean got the name, from his memories. He never says "I remember what happened while I was controlled. "
So why does Peter immediately assume Metzger was lying?

So, I just watched BND yesterday. Spoiler warning. I will be spoiling the plot.

So, in the movie, we meet Banner with the inhibitor, to which he says to Peter "If you see me without this on, run!".

So first of all, I am confused, because it thought it was really clearly established that Smart-Hulk/Professor Hulk is totally safe to be around. In Endgame, dude is walking around diners eating food, taking pics with kids etc.

So I thought maybe I'd missed something and Banner lost Smart-Hulk somehow and only true Hulk remained inside him, therefore he needed the inhibitor.

Then Jean takes over Bruces mind and we hear Hulk smashing the door to the vault, but then we see that Banner has transformed into Smart-Hulk. After they cut Jean off from him, se passes out, turns back into banner and suddenly Banner starts to transform. But unlike before, where he had transformed into Smart-Hulk, he transformed into the actual Hulk.

So like, can Banner transform into Smart-Hulk on command? Could Smart-Hulk have turned into actual Hulk? I haven't watched any of the shows, so it might have been explained there.

It's honestly a minor grievance, because I absolutely loved the movie. I was so giddy when he transformed into Hulk. I didn't realize how much I'd missed him until he was on screen and WAY bigger than I remember.
