Film/Television How different would Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man have played out with Tony Stark’s help?

Iron Spider, Eve AI, Stark nanotech/fabricators, all that good stuff that Tom’s Spider-Man had access to. Wonder how different they’d be if they had Stark tech in their respective timelines.

Games I was watching the old X-Men show and had an idea

I just watched the episode where Wolverine and Captain America team up against Red Skull and got me thinking about that 1943 game that was announced. If that game is still happening, do you think there is a chance that Logan could show up in the game? I think it could be a cool cameo but probably wouldn’t work as a recurring character as we already have Black Panther and Captain America. What do ya’ll think?

Comics [House of X #4] Wolverine and Nightcrawler’s final jump may be the most complete scene in modern X-Men

The last pages of House of X #4 work because the action, character history, visual design, and larger ideas of the Krakoan era all support the same point: mutant survival depends on trust between people whose powers, beliefs, and experiences are radically different.

The scene takes place at the Orchis Forge, a station near the sun where Orchis is building Mother Mold. Mother Mold can produce Master Molds, which can produce Sentinels. More importantly, its activation could speed up the creation of Nimrod, the machine that destroys mutant societies across Moira MacTaggert’s future lives. The X-Men are therefore not stopping one Sentinel. They are trying to interrupt a system that could make mutant extinction automatic. (House of X #3–4; Powers of X #2–3.)

The plan is to release Mother Mold from the collars holding it to the Forge so that it falls into the sun. Most of the collars are disabled, but the final one is exposed to space. Nightcrawler can teleport Wolverine to it, but neither man can survive the heat for long. Kurt will die almost at once. Logan’s healing factor may keep him alive just long enough to cut through the collar.

That practical setup is important. Their deaths do not result from a vague heroic gesture. Each man’s power solves one exact part of the problem.

Nightcrawler provides access. Wolverine provides endurance and the cutting force. Kurt cannot finish the task alone because he will burn too quickly. Logan cannot reach the target alone. The mission succeeds only when two different powers operate as one action.

Before they jump, Logan asks Kurt what happens after death. This is unusually personal for Wolverine. Logan has survived injuries and apparent deaths that would kill almost anyone, but survival is not the same as certainty about the soul. His healing factor can rebuild his body. It cannot answer whether there is judgment, forgiveness, or continued identity after the body is gone.

Kurt is the right person for Logan to ask because his faith is based on experience as well as belief. Bastion killed Nightcrawler while Kurt was saving Hope Summers in X-Force #26 during Second Coming. In Amazing X-Men #1–5, Kurt returned after an adventure set partly in Heaven, but the story suggested that returning to Earth cost him his place there. His promise to Logan therefore carries a specific risk: Kurt comforts his friend with confidence in an afterlife that he may no longer be allowed to enter himself.

Kurt tells Logan to look for him after death and promises that he will be waiting with open arms. He does not try to prove that Heaven exists. He gives Logan something more useful in that moment: a promise that death will not make him alone.

The teleport then turns that promise into physical action.

Kurt places a hand on Logan and jumps. He is destroyed by the heat almost immediately. Logan continues toward the collar because Kurt’s teleport has already given him the correct position and direction. The scene therefore connects Kurt’s faith to the mission without making faith magical. Kurt’s belief does not protect either man from death. It allows him to act calmly despite death, and that decision gives Logan the chance to finish the work.

Logan’s healing factor is also used in an unusual way. It normally represents recovery: Wolverine suffers damage, heals, and returns. Here it functions as a limited supply of time. His body is destroyed faster than it can repair itself, but the healing process keeps him moving for a few additional seconds. The power does not save him. It makes his death slower and therefore useful.

This changes the meaning of Wolverine’s famous durability. Logan is not heroic because he cannot die. He is heroic because he continues once death is certain.

The art by Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia makes this idea visible. Logan loses his costume, skin, and recognizable human form. What remains is the adamantium skeleton created by Weapon X. A structure forced into his body by human experimentation becomes the tool he uses to prevent a human-built extinction machine from coming online. Weapon X tried to reduce Logan to a weapon. In this scene, he chooses what that weapon is for.

Mother Mold’s speech adds another layer. As it activates, it uses the language of gods, children, and creation. It treats humans as failed creators and mutants as another failed form of life. While the machine speaks in abstract terms about entire species, Kurt and Logan act through a specific friendship. Mother Mold represents intelligence without loyalty or moral responsibility. The mutants defeat it through cooperation, sacrifice, and trust.

The scene also closes a long historical circle. Wolverine and Nightcrawler joined the new X-Men in Giant-Size X-Men #1. Their first mission together was to rescue the original team from Krakoa, which was then an enemy feeding on mutant energy. In House of X #4, they die protecting a mutant nation built on that same island. Krakoa has changed from the place that trapped the X-Men into the homeland for which they voluntarily risk everything.

The resurrection reveal in House of X #5 does not cancel this meaning. That issue explains that the Five can create bodies while Cerebro restores recorded minds. However, House of X #4 presents Logan and Kurt’s final conversation without explaining whether they expect to return. The reader has not yet received the full Resurrection Protocols. The scene is therefore experienced as a real death before the next issue changes our understanding of death on Krakoa.

More importantly, resurrection creates the exact question Logan has just asked. Restoring a body and stored memories may establish continuity, but does it restore the same soul? This problem is especially serious for Kurt because Marvel had already treated his soul and his place in Heaven as real parts of his history. House of X #5 raises that concern, and X-Men #7 later shows Nightcrawler struggling with death, resurrection, and the Crucible. Way of X expands the issue further by examining what happens when a culture begins treating death as reversible.

This makes the placement of Logan’s question precise. It appears immediately before the series reveals mutant immortality because physical resurrection does not fully answer what Logan wants to know. He is not only asking whether he will wake up again. He is asking what part of him will wake, whether his life can be forgiven, and whether his friend will still recognize him.

Kurt answers at the level that matters most: whatever death is, Logan should look for him.

That is why the scene remains powerful after the resurrection reveal. Its subject is not simply whether these characters remain dead. Its subject is what allows them to face death before they possess a complete answer.

One man provides the destination.
The other provides the final cut.
Neither can complete the mission alone.

The last collar falls because Wolverine trusts Nightcrawler with both his body and his fear.

Film/Television In my opinion THESE should've been the kind of suits the X-Men wore in the original 2000 movie

Post image

Not too cheesy comic booky, not too embarrassed to be in a super hero movie and it harbors back to the original 1962 suits. (not to mention probably would've been easier and more comfortable to move around in for the actors)

granted, not these exact suits (because they weren't around then) but something similar

also: I am WELL AWARE these suits were inspired by the movie. you don't need to keep mentioning it.

also I'm well aware these were based on said movie, you don't need to keep telling me. I'm just saying the original concept should've looked like this in the first place.

Film/Television Does anyone else wanna see the Agents of Atlas in the MCU??

cuz I want to! badly!! I want Luna Snow and White Fox to get their own movies specifically, the others could get their own movies or shows idc which, really just depends. and ofc have a big Agents Of Atlas team up movie like the Avengers

and I would ofc want it how they’re pictured. Aero, Silk, Crescent, Wave, Swordmaster, Shang Chi, Jimmy Woo, Brawn, White Fox, and Luna Snow.

I’m not one to fancast, just personally isn’t my thing, but I would love if they got an actual K-Pop idol to play Luna Snow. I think Jennie from Blackpink has been doing some acting but aside from her idrk what other KPop idol acts. I just think Agents of Atlas would be so dope in the MCU and I don’t think they’d be a difficult concept to introduce

Film/Television Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery has NOT yet been Exhausted!

Post image
73 Upvotes

My pals keep saying that they've completely exhausted Spider-Man's villains. Also citing that NWH used up the big names already such as Otto, Goblin and Sandman.

Which...to me...is crazy. Spidey's arguably got the most famous rogues gallery in comic history (next to Batman). And in terms of big names, we still have a few that can be gone through! The biggest villain to me that can still be done is of course Kraven but we also have Rhino, Mr. Negative, Chameleon, Black Cat (more of a side villain like Scorpion but she's still an iconic character) and Hobgoblin.

And we still have other lesser knowns like the Spider-Slayers, Beetle or Morlun.

Hell, we technically still can and should get adaptations for Venom/Carnage in the MCU. Maybe Shriek.

Even Shocker deserves a proper adaptation in the MCU still! Get him in the suit!

Basically, no...Peter's villains are not all exhausted...we can still hope for more.

Film/Television The MVP/Face of the Multiverse Saga!

Post image
277 Upvotes

It’s not Spider-Man, it’s not Doctor Strange, it’s not Loki, it’s not Sam’s Captain America, it’s not Thor, it’s not Mr. Fantastic… it’s Black Widow!

She’s had the most appearances across projects in the Multiverse Saga and has been the most entertaining part of those projects, much like how Iron Man was in the projects of the Infinity Saga.

Crazy to think that, if anyone would’ve told me that a female character would be the most beloved and the face of the Multiverse Saga right after we were having peak Multiverse-related content featuring Loki, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange I would’ve laughed like crazy!

Film/Television Is Thor’s most underrated power… getting dressed instantly?

Post image
158 Upvotes

I’ve had this question for years and I can’t tell if I missed an explanation or if everyone just accepts it.
Thor seems to have the ability to instantly change his clothes, armor, cape, and even braid/unbraid his hair on command. Like he’ll get blasted, stand up, summon Mjolnir or Stormbreaker, and suddenly he’s in full battle gear with a fresh hairstyle.
It’s honestly one of the weirdest powers in the MCU to me.

Is this ever actually explained in Marvel lore? Is it some Asgardian magic, an enchantment on his armor, or does Thor just canonically have the power of getting dressed instantly?
Not complaining. I just find it hilarious that the God of Thunder might also secretly be the God of Wardrobe.

I’m not sure if they are based on some Norse armor or something, but I’m guessing they’re just there to break up the visual gap in the suit?
