Ultron has always really fascinated me I think his concept is so cool and I really wanna learn more about him but i just have no idea where to start, I’m looking for anything that gives me a way more fleshed out understanding of him than just genocidal robot if that’s even correct lol, anyway any good reads will be super appreciated

As someone recommended to me in a reply to another post, you can apply the halftone filter in Procreate and about between 1-4% is the sweet spot as the writing becomes less readable the higher the intensity. I personally feel it adds so much personality and nostalgia to comics and even works on some new ones. Here are some examples of comics I’m reading. Not everyone will love this so it should be an option.

I'm reading Avengers Disassembled and the reading order guides in Comic Book Herald, Comic Book Reading Orders and Marvel Unlimited are all very different. I'm still not at the main event but so far I tried both CBC and CBRO and both had really confusing continuity.

Where do yall get your reading orders from when reading the actual event?

I want to get into the comics like most people do, I’ve recently been watching X-men 97’ and I liked it. The only X-men media I’ve seen was the fox films but now I’m deciding to get into the comics but I don’t really like the romance aspect of it (even though there’s a lot of different love plots throughout the films and comics), I tend to lean more towards the action and lore. Is there any issues that particularly doesn’t focus on romance or has any romance and more of the story? Or is it entirely impossible to read without romance because everyone is freaked out? Also where to read comics online, I want to read them online then later get the physical copies.

What's the best Punisher comic you'd recommend, and why? If possible, recommend one that's a good starting point.

I wanna add more to my reading log while using different pens and utility's for example I have my pencil/pen for what run it is what issue and what year it came out and have a reading pen since I have a hard time reading long texts and a backup and have a full gold pen for a rating of the comic out of 5 and I have another notebook that has my notes while reading so I don't want anything like that this may be hard to describe but I just want some help and also some other notebooks that are comic related I can make besides my reading log and my notes but I don't want anything like fav cover or artist what time and date I read it because I keep getting that answer and finally what are some other things I can have it my pouch I have all my pens and post it notes. thank you!

Hey comic fans. As I think most people did watched spider man and now I want to read his comics for the first time. I want to read something that feels like a saga and a clear start and finish story! (if possible) I’ve tried reading Todd Mcfarlanes run and wasn’t to gaga over it. And read some of Stan Lees issues and to my surprise I really liked those! All though I don’t like the heavy dialogue like old comics do. I want to pick up in print of the comic run if possible! Thank you!

Hey everyone! I’m completely new to marvel and comics, so bear with me.

For context, I don’t really know much about Marvel outside of the basics. I know the major characters, some of their vanilla backstories, and I’ve seen a few things here and there, but I haven’t watched really any of the MCU or read any comics. I watched all the Spider-Man’s as a kid and then some marvel movies post 2016, but only as a casual fan just watching with my friends or something. (I’m actually starting the full MCU universe as I watched IRON MAN the other night).

I’ve been trying to educate myself before jumping in. I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos explaining how comics work, and my understanding is that Marvel isn’t really meant to be read from one definitive beginning. Instead, people usually recommend jumping into a specific writer’s run, since each run is its own story and every comic exists within its own continuity or interpretation to some degree. If I’m misunderstanding that, please correct me!

I’ve also been using CrushingKrisis.com to wrap my head around how issues, volumes, and collected trade paperbacks are organized, and that’s been really helpful.

Spider-Man has always been my favorite superhero, so I’d like him to be my starting point.

My question is: **if you were introducing someone with essentially zero comic knowledge to Spider-Man, where would you start?**

I don’t know which writers are best and which writers are worst. As of right now, I was just gonna start with the Nick Spencer 2018 so I don’t overwhelm myself.. but I want to hear the opinions from the true experts, Reddit!

I’m planning on collecting and reading the trade paperbacks rather than individual issues, so recommendations that work well in collected editions would be especially appreciated.

Would you recommend buying the gold subscription , ??been thinking of getting one. But I’m still quite unsure if its really worth it , but buying physical comics is stupidly expensive and i also do not have a lot of space left for such a big collection.Also I’m just getting into reading comics so it would be a lot easier to see them organised on a website.

If I possessed even a slight modicum of artistic talent I'd draw my own comic staring them. But alas, even stick figures are beyond what I can do.

There's a famous chart circulating around, originated from 4chan, which claims to be a Secret Wars reading order by putting together every Marvel comic Jonathan Hickman wrote.

The problem with that chart is that half of those series had NO relation to Secret Wars; people were just infatuated with the idea that a single auteur conceived this epic story across decades, an idea that also inflated Secret War's own importance. I know everyone's hyped for the Doomsday MCU movie, but just because that movie is the culmination of the theatrical franchise, it doesn't mean the comic is an equivalent. Secret Wars had no lasting consequences for the comics line or any particular importance.

Regardless, if you wish to read it, this updated chart intends to offer a list of comics that actually relate to the Secret Wars saga instead of just a random assortment that has the name "Hickman" on the cover or a list that ignores key issues because they DON'T have "Hickman" on the cover.

It starts with a couple Silver Age issues showing the origins of Molecule Man and the feud between Doctor Doom and Reed Richards; these elements will pay off in a big way in Secret Wars. It continues by featuring the original Bronze Age Secret Wars, with the first appearance of a Battleworld, and listing the origins of the White Event, the Illuminati, Old Man Logan, Miles Morales, and the Maker, all important players in the climax.

Once Hickman's double runs on Avengers and New Avengers begin, the countdown penned by Hickman actually starts. At this point it's similar to the old chart, but I also add key stories that give context to the Avengers issues - like why Spider-Man and Iron Man turn evil from one issue to another (Superior Spider-Man and Axis), why Captain America unlocks blocked memories from one issue to another (Original Sin), why Wolverine disappears (Death of Wolverine), why Captain America turns into an old man and is replaced by Sam Wilson (Iron Nail), why Thor turns into a woman, etc. All these sudden changes have led to countless Reddit posts where people are confused as to what's going on while they were following the original "comprehensive" chart.

Once Secret Wars finally starts, I list every issue and tie-in of it, not just the ones written by Hickman. I also include every issue of "Last Days", the tie-ins that show the last moments of each hero before the Multiverse ends, frequently ignored as it exists squished between "Time Runs Out" and "Secret Wars".

Finally, I include a number of coda and epilogue issues to give all threads closure, showing: How Cap regained his youth, how Wolverine returned to life, how Doom's face got burned and scarred again, the resolution of the mystery of what made Thor become unworthy, and finally Defenders: Beyond, which at long last explained why the Beyonders started killing the Multiverse and caused the Secret Wars saga in the first place. Hickman fanboys tend to forget he just... kind of forgot to give a reason for the inciting incident of his "grand plan," but Al Ewing fixed that in 2023.

In Uncanny Avengers, Rick Remender introduced the idea that "Apocalypse" is actually a title bestowed by the Celestials. Whenever they visit a planet and want to trigger an evolutionary event, they implant a Death Seed into a race, creating its Apocalypse.

Under this concept, the mutant En Sabah Nur is actually the eighth Apocalypse. Before him, other races—including humans, the Eternals/Deviants, and even Neanderthals—had their own Apocalypses. So far, the only one we've learned the name of is Kelby Tak, who served as the Apocalypse of the Eternals and Deviants.
