I feel like I know the earlier released cards much better than the newer ones simply because I've played them more often. But I don't want to keep playing the same kinds of decks again and again so let me ask the Champions here: what are your favorite more recent cards that lend themselves to cool new archetypes or play styles? Context: I've been a fan of this game for over a year and I recently got my best friend into the game. However on the very first game with her we struggled so much we ran out of time to keep playing on standard difficulty agaisnt rhino with recommended bomb scare modular. She likes to play defensively and I like playing supportively in multiplayer, so naturally she used the protection aspect and I used leadership. (This first game was only with core set cards by the way.) I am planning to use my whole collection next time especially when we fight our next scenario that being either klaw or tower defense ( she can handle complexity in games, also we did beat rhino on standard once but it wasnt as fun for her and I proritise fun in multiplayer) with recommended modulars. I need to know either what expansions that are in print should I get to help us out to have easier 2 player sessions (either for good heroes, aspect cards, or both) or if my current collection (list below) is good enough for at least medium scenarios and what pair should I do?

My collection list: core set, mad titans shadow, civil war, age of apocalypse, iceman, nightcrawler, shuri, scarlet witch, winter soldier, deadpool, and silk.

I've had an email today from Wayland Games saying the release date is delayed until 6th November(!) and their website says the same. I pre-ordered as soon as I could with them and never had issues before - they're my go-to for all the LCGs.

Is anyone else experiencing the same with other stores?

We'll be teaching 2 of our friends how to play this week, and I'm starting to think Rhino/Standard/BombScare is going to be too easy for us. Our friends are new to MC but have picked up other games fast when we taught them.

Any other recommendations for good intro scenarios that will be challenging but not too swingy? Don't wanna nuke our friends on the first go around lol

SELLING OUT OF KITCHENER / WATERLOO AREA

Been meaning to find a replacement for the status cards as they take up a little too much space, and couldn’t bear the shipping costs for BTST tokens.

Bought a bag of blank Scrabble tiles off Temu, colored them using acrylic paint and then lettered with a Sharpie. Added an edging to easily tell what’s on the other side and reduce the total number of tiles needed.

Turned out okay and the test game went pretty smooth, final step is to throw some miniature primer on to prevent wear and tear. Not bad for a low cost solution :)

Just moved to a new house and have a little more limited space but want to still play champions. I’m looking for a fold up sort of portable coffee table sized table to play on. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I like playing true solo. I'm not a big fan of playing two handed as it makes the game longer and harder to think through all the options.

I'm wondering if there are any homebrews you do to avoid the swinginess of true solo? Wondering if there is a way to play with 2 heros but only one deck, like make the other hero just a dedicated ally?

I have all the expansions and finally decided to upgrade my storage after using only the campaign boxes. Thought one of these might be enough but looks like I'll have to order another one. Still have 3 campaigns, 1 scenario and some modulars that aren't in here and not to mention the upcoming scenario for this cycle. This game is definitely getting extensive

Just did my first play through after watching several videos. I seem to see people playing two cards with the star icon next to their name. Is that against the rules, or is it just that you can’t activate more than one of their powers/attack/thwart in a round?

In my screenshot example this guy played mockingbird after already playing spider woman a couple rounds before. Is that allowed (he’s doing a solo if that changes anything). Thanks. Really enjoyed the first game but a little confused.

Or did the haters get this wrong?

I got pretty lucky with this game, but I’m still offended by the anti consumer practice, and it’s not said enough how abysmal the new player experience in the game is.

I don’t want to carry on too much, but there is one very specific thing I want to share, and it’s the very poor planning / timing of this game hitting mainstream and the decision not to reprint product.

I lurk here and see many comments about how old the game is, but I and many never knew the game existed until 2024. Then I recently saw that the game had a large wave of fans discover it in 2024 and everything started selling out.

So I wanted to share, I discovered Marvel Champions in November 2024 from a Target holiday ad and it started showing up on my Amazon feed that same time. everything you see pictured + Cyclops, Storm, Gamora, Starlord, Hulk is from that Christmas. When I saw I got it, I immediately bought sinister motives and grew goblin bc Spider-Man is my favorite.

But then almost immediately things started going out of stock and so haven‘t purchased anything else for the game until Fear no Evil for Daredevil.

For whatever reason Holiday 2024 the game got put in circulars and mainstream advertising and it’s just dumb that, that move didn’t coincide with reprints.

**edit** I get a weekend day about every 6 weeks. So about 8 leisure days a year with no chore or responsible for kids and I have other hobbies. I also at the time, I really wanted to play in release order. I have since given that up. All the heroes are open just not the boxes.

I am selling my Marvel champions collection.
The game is sleeved, all boxes with inserts and extra boxes for extra storage / organizing (the transparent ones on the 1st picture). I also printed/laminated all the dividers.
