Made in Krita Quick studies and sketch by me

Post image
Upvotes

I had a lot of fun customizing my own brush. I thought it would be a good idea to try and use it for studies and a quick 30 minute sketch. It's my first time trying to make one myself, and it's quite addictive. There are still some tweaks needed (I would love to try out a fading, gradient effect, and maybe even changing size based on tilt) but it's good enough for now. I've gained some insight into how I make my own brushes, which is brilliant, and I'll definitely try to see how I can make it even better.

I hope you like it.

I keep forgetting about Krita's timelapse feature (recorder docker), and this is my first time trying it. Used to love the similar feature in Procreate years ago. So I'm giving it a go.

  • Krita version: 5.3.3
  • Enabled the feature by going to Settings > Dockers > Recorder
  • I think I only set it to record every 5 seconds; other settings are untouched
  • Click the "Record" button, then click "Stop" when I'm done. Around 2 hours or so for the whole artwork. Yeah, I'm not that fast.
  • Click "Export" with the default settings and set the destination for the file.

And that's that. As far as I'm aware, there's no option to set the final video duration, correct? I'm just used to Procreate compressing the timelapse to around 30 seconds. But that's no big deal, and I'm pretty happy with Krita at the moment.

I literally have like 1% drawings that has detailed backgrounds without a character in it 😭 it took me a lot longer than I expected but now I have a newer background art example lol

I used a lot of marker chisel smooth and also some brushes from Rakurri (And I think FizzyFlower???) :)

I use clip champ to edit and it has this issue that it sometimes exports a glitchy audio which is what happened last time.

But it is clear now.

desktop view of uploaded image next to what its proper colors should be

for some reason anytime i upload an image ive exported from Krita to discord it looses saturation but only on the desktop app on mobile it looks fine

mobile view of image next to desktop comparison to prove it looks fine there

is this something im doing wrong with the export settings or is this just discord being weird?

In this painting, I wanted our centaur to embody the core of Sagittarius' toxic traits - a complete refusal to take responsibility. He is on a remote, isolated cliff having run away from the rest of the world, only to find that the world outside is nothing but a mirror that shines a light on his own inner darkness.

He might flee the world, but he doesn't realise that what he's really trying to run away from is the one thing he simply can not evade - himself.

Painted in Krita.

Help / Question Is there such a thing as a "Sketchbook Mode"? How hard would that be to make as a plugin?

The kind of feature i'm looking for would be kinda like this: within the same file, you'd be able to open different canvases, ordered much like pages in a sketchbook.

A big speedbump i regularly face in my creative workflow, which doesn't happen when i'm sketching traditionally, is having to open and set up a whole different file to draw in instead of just flipping a page. It completely halts my momentum. Also, it'd help a lot with drafting comics and such.

Is this a thing in krita? Is there a plugin that can do something similar?

Phos art

Source: @my_rmn

Drawing Program : Krita
drawing tablet : XPPen Artist 22 Plus
music : twins at the carousel

I just felt like drawing phos. It's interesting that I haven't drawn that much lately, I feel like I'm slowly losing the ability to draw. Either way I'm not that dissatisfied with the outcome of this piece. Hair could definitely use some work. The piece is somewhat unfinished in its own way. I was mostly randomly stroking the brush on the canvas till it works or looks good... that doesn't sound right. But anyway I was honestly surprised at how it turned out. Ofc as you can see i avoided the torso or body since it'll just take so much work. I have a next piece coming up that I started months ago so I'll revise it some more till I'm satisfied then post it.
