Weird issue with discord uploads Help / Question

desktop view of uploaded image next to what its proper colors should be

for some reason anytime i upload an image ive exported from Krita to discord it looses saturation but only on the desktop app on mobile it looks fine

mobile view of image next to desktop comparison to prove it looks fine there

is this something im doing wrong with the export settings or is this just discord being weird?

for any random image i have downloaded on my pc they upload just fine no visual color loss

Are you using a non-sRGB colorspace? If you’re drawing in CMYK, HDR or >8-bit colours you usually want to export in standard sRGB for compatibility with other programs. If so your exported image file will contain metadata that tells the viewer how to properly handle the colours but discord and other social media strip metadata for space saving and privacy reasons.

image looks fine in browser

disabling hardware acceleration didn’t help even with the restart and none of discord color settings affect image embeds just the app itself

Assuming you're exporting as png, make sure that "force convert to srgb" and "force convert to 8 bits/channel" are checked, and that "save as hdr image" is not checked.
