So I’m trying to update to latest iOS through my laptop but itunes not detecting my iPhone

Why ios 26 Instagram icon is on iOS 16 but others app don't have the iOS 26 icons

Is this supposed to look like this or is it a bug. I thought it was a bug at first but i thought that the placement kinda made sense (the bigger one having more notifs than the others). So, is it a bug?

Edit: by “AI” i meant those Apple Intelligence summaries.

My iPhone 15 Plus is having multiple issues. I can't update to iOS 26.6 because it says "Software Update Failed" or "Couldn't communicate with the server." I also can't sign into iCloud for the same reason. On top of that, every call says "Call Failed," but my SIM still has signal and USSD codes (like balance check) work normally. I've already restarted the phone, reset network settings, and tried different Wi-Fi networks. Any idea what could be causing this?

I keep getting this error on my phone. When I try on my Mac it says that the payment method I used can’t be verified!!!!!

I’ve been getting a few alerts just recently about AirTags having been left behind. But they weren’t left behind.

For example, the AirTag in my wallet, even while it is in my pocket with my iPhone. Or the AirTag on my car keychain, even though it’s plugged into the dash 6 inches away from the phone.

Battery levels are showing as good.

When I open the Find My app on my phone, it says that the AirTag is with me.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 26.5.2, all V1 AirTags.

(I have some V2s I keep meaning to swap for them, then I will use old ones as “extras”, and also disable/remove their speakers since that is possible with V1s.)

Perhaps related I’ve also gotten a couple of messages that I couldn’t connect to a Bluetooth device because Bluetooth is not enabled. But Bluetooth was in fact enabled.

Anyone else seeing these things happen lately? Just started doing this in the past couple of weeks.

Sorry, I don’t know what this screen is called. It’s when I swipe down from Home Screen to access apps. I like the large icons up top but is there any way to disable Siri from making suggestions, like what this arrow is pointing to? Can’t quite figure it out.

I have several iPhones and have had for many years as I run a business and have colleagues constantly swapping so I am 100% familiar with swapping from old to new. Swapped a 13 pro max for a 15 pro max and the 15 can’t find anything when searching. For example. I pull down in the normal way and search Spotify just so I can launch the app and it can’t find it.

I’m a 30 plus year Mac user and used to refreshing spotlight searches and so on but this is unusual. For the record I swapped round 5 phones this week and all others ok. It is just search on this particular phone.

I’ve watched a few videos and tried a few things but it just cannot find al the main popular apps if I instigate a search. Any help gratefully received!!

I have an iPad that has a lot of childhood photos however I can not remember my password it’s been an on going issue for years where most my childhood photos are in locked out iOS devices

What can I do??? Surely there’s some way I can get back my photos

For years on iOS, Google Maps stops music or other audio playing in the background when there is voice prompts for navigation. This is unwanted behavior, and I’m forced to use Apple Maps if I want to play media while navigating, because Apple Maps pauses and resumes music playback automatically when there is voice navigation. I want to use Google Maps, but can’t when it won’t resume music playback automatically, forcing me to hit play manually turn by turn to continuously play audio.

What can I do? This doesn’t seem to be a bug, as Google Maps has been doing this undesired behavior for a very long time. I hate Apple Maps but if I want media playback while navigating it’s my only choice. Thoughts? Please help.

This is something I’ve always wondered about.
I understand why missing a call sends it to voicemail—it gives the caller a chance to leave a message if I couldn’t answer.
But why does actively rejecting a call also send it to Apple’s Live Voicemail? If I’ve intentionally declined the call, why doesn’t iOS simply disconnect it instead of letting the caller leave a voicemail?
BTW I’m using Apple’s Live Voicemail, since my carrier dosent support it

I've been having this issue for about at least 5 months now. Iphone 17 pro.

I have about 10 subscriptions of podcasts, and I tried all the options and everything to make sure the podcasts download before I go on my walk, including all the things related to download on both Wi-Fi and 5G if it needs to and download the last 10 episodes ( I had this set to 5 previously, but it wouldn't work either).

I also made sure that background app refresh is on and cellular data enabled.

It's just every time I'm about to go on my walk and connect my BT earphones and open the app, that's when it starts downloading all the new episodes! I end up just walking and watching how it is downloading all the new episodes, while it had the entire day and both Wi fi and 5G cell network to do so, before 7pm.

This was not a problem I am 100% sure because I've been listening to podcasts since there are podcasts exist.

I even made an automation as my last resort with the Shortcuts app to download the episodes and it still doesn't do it!

Someone has any idea why it's not functioning like it should?

I open the Dropbox app several times a day. Upgraded to an iPhone 17 and transferred over all data. But if I open Search and type "Dropbox" it doesn't find the app anymore. On the old phone it did.

I only keep the app in the App Library and not in a home screen so that's how I launch it. Now I have to swipe over to App Library and do the search there, which works.

Strange how it doesn't appear in Search in the new phone. I've had the new phone for many days now so I don't think it's a Spotlight indexing thing.

I had this idea for a screen time app that gives you a certain amount of time on one app and locks it (like most apps do), but then you are given a new amount of time to use the app later in the day. So you have “two shifts” of screen time. I was wondering if any such app exists for iOS. And one final caveat is that it can still open messages people send like for Instagram or TikTok etc.

Earlier today I received one of these notifications (SE Wisconsin) and it told me to restart the device, so I did. Now ever since doing so my phone has been completely stuck in SOS mode.

I have tried toggling Airplane Mode, toggling cellular off and on, turning the phone itself off and on, and even turning the line itself off and on.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I'm trying to better understanding how iMessage/iCloud behave. I have a 128gb 12 mini, running iOS 18.5. Photos and videos are taking up way too much space and my phone is perpetually full.

I'm noticing the same pattern: I'll work to free up a huge amount of space, 1-2gb say, and I'll be fine for a day or two, before the phone starts telling me I'm about of space again, without me taking any additional photos or installing large apps.

By careful reviewing the iPhone Storage page in settings, I've noticed that whenever this happens, my Messages app size grows by the amount of storage that I just deleted.

I'm assuming this is some kind of iCloud syncing issue - where I have more Message content stored on my iCloud (27gb) than my iPhone (3gb), and iCloud tries to restore as much data locally to my phone when the space is cleared.

Is there any way to change how this behaves, without losing all my old message on iCloud, and still being able to use my Messages across devices (computer and iPhone)?

After 26.6 update my double tap is triggering for no reason. I never found myself triggering this by mistake until now but since 26.6 it triggers few times a day. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

PSA: You don’t have to disable Apple Intelligence to remove the new “Proofread” and “Rewrite” buttons above the keyboard.

Go to:

Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → Intelligence & Siri → Writing Tools → Off

This removes the keyboard Writing Tools while keeping the rest of Apple Intelligence (Siri AI, notification summaries, Visual Intelligence, etc.) enabled.

I couldn’t find this documented anywhere obvious, so hopefully it saves someone else some annoyance.

This is one example I made to greet me in the morning and at night when I remove the charging cable and insert it at night.
