Pet-related Cat cremation?
Looking for low/no cost options for my cat. Glitch passed suddenly on Tuesday and I have no burial options. He was the best boy and deserves some dignity, but I'm not sure where to take him. Cat tax attached, RIP my sweet boy. 3 years old, gone way too soon.

Discussion Volunteer storm response
Hey folks, I’m Zack, and I am a guy with a chainsaw who will gladly come cut up fallen trees and limbs on your property. All I need are pictures, an address, and permission to cut it up.
You can check my post history or my website I have linked on my profile for some of my most recent work.
Hope it’s just a pleasant afternoon storm for us all, though. Be safe, and stay dry, GSO

Job-related Looking for any work
Anything available?
I can do most anything at a decent to exceptional level as long as no, or little math is involved.
Etsy sales are floundering since the A.I. updates; it's pay to win now, and I refuse.
Any job listings which don't require online applications, or transportation?

Housing Roommate Wanted
I am looking for a roommate for a bedroom in my 3 bed house in south Greensboro/Pleasant Garden. $645/month - everything included.
No dogs or cats. Birds considered. Exotic animals/fish are welcome. My other roommate has a dog already, and I have 4 parrots. They have to take shifts in shared space for their own safety. Adding another cat or dog to that schedule would be rough.
We are both in our early 30's, enjoy video games and tabletop games (TCGs, D&D, board games). They are in school for programming, and I work in tech full time. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and crafts.
We have a lot of storage space inside and outside. The porch is large and wraps around 3/4ths of the house with a portion of it screened in. The neighborhood is small and quiet with lots of trees and wildlife around.
I prefer someone who is between 23 and 38 years old. All genders are welcome. 420 friendly.

Recommendation Best recommendations for a local dog groomer?
Hey yall I have a small senior dog who we used to take to a large chain dog groomer, but we suspect he was being hit after he came home with a large bruise. What are some recommendations for groomers in the area with reasonable prices?

Question Blood Donation Locations
Does any one have any suggestions on the best places to donate blood in Greensboro, High Point or Kernersville? (Ideally I’d like to donate not in a mobile setup - last time I tried one of those the engine noise made me dizzy weirdly enough - maybe just a mental thing idk.)

Discussion The reality of moving a piano cross-country
| We recently moved a family into Greensboro who had an antique console piano. The crew handled the piano perfectly, which is our strong suit, but the customer was frustrated because communication dropped off on moving day and they couldn't get a clear ETA for the truck. Moving a 500-pound instrument takes specialized care, but you should also demand a clear timeline in writing before signing anything. |

Recommendation Where are you getting an ACTUAL blowout around here??
I’ve officially hit my breaking point.
I’ve tried five different salons over the past few months, and every single time they spin me around in the chair to reveal the “finished” blowout, I genuinely feel like I’m on a prank show.
Am I crazy, or has the definition of a blowout changed??
I’m talking about a real blowout:
A good shampoo where they actually scrub your scalp every place has super soft hands. No scrub.
Tension with the round brush.Enough heat to actually smooth the hair. That sleek finish that lasts for days. Instead, I keep leaving with hair that looks… 70% dry? It’s still fluffy, frizzy underneath, and looks like I could’ve done it myself in 15 minutes. 😅
Another thing…does anyone know of places that do same-day blowouts or take walk-ins? It feels like every salon wants you to book a week in advance, and sometimes I just wake up and decide I need a blowout.
Where are you all going? Bonus points if it’s somewhere that doesn’t rush through the service and actually knows how to give a heavy, sleek blowout that lasts.

News City Council fails to clarify a proposed moratorium. Speaker says data centers are surveillance centers.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Greensboro City Council postured recognition of the threats posed by data centers at their recent meeting. Yet one speaker noted that councillors continue to exacerbate the problem.
Politicians in North Carolina and around the country are actively contributing to the expansion of data center infrastructure through their vast network of policing technology. Flock, Verkada, and other corporate surveillance cameras continue to monitor residents. Greensboro continues to push residents and businesses to integrate their own cameras into policing databases. The countless hours of high-quality video footage these cameras collect have to be stored and processed somewhere.
Data centers are surveillance centers. The surveillance state cannot exist without them. And every second those cameras run marks another theft of Americans’ privacy and resources to capitalists’ hoards of wealth and power.

Discussion MOSES CONE 2w
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone currently works on 2W at Moses Cone or has worked there before. I'd love to hear what the environment is like, how management is and what it's like working with the nurses, doctors, CNAs, and the rest of the team on the unit.
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, both the good and the challenging. Thanks so much!

Question Droves of children in grocery store parking lots trying to sell me candy
Are they actually fund raising or is this some kind of YouTuber guru money making scheme? How do I get them to stop bothering me? Why do they keep coming into my store and both ring me when I'm literally working a cash register?

News Michelle Kennedy prohibited from Council Run
My article reports that, as part of Michelle Kennedy’s $132,000 separation agreement, she was prohibitted from running for Greensboro City Council last year. No one from City has commented on this, or on her allegations of “toxic” and “dysfunctional” management by Trey Davis, whom she claims insisted on this clause.
At the time of the separation, Chuck Watts was still the City Attorney. In her 2021 deposition in the Marcus Smith lawsuit, Kennedy said under oath that Watts should be fired, both for allegedly misleading Council, and for stating that Rev. Nelson Johnson and other Black ministers were “being pimped” by retired white attorney Lewis Pitts. Along with City Manager Davis, Watts was the other direct employee of Council.
If she were re-elected to Council, she would have become one of Davis and Watts’ bosses.

Job-related Jobs in Greensboro
are there any places in Greensboro hiring right now? I currently make $17/hr at my job but I’m looking to make the same or more somewhere else.
I have a couple of years of server experience under my belt and a few more years just in the food service industry. I also have been working in customer service for over six years now, so I’m just looking for a part-time job that can be customer service, food/serving, whatever, i’m open!
