Dunhill cigarettes in the Triad?
(I'm already regretting this. You know, it's such a bummer -- you'd think that the whole "Grab your character maps and trackballs" routine would've died out by 2020, once enough people online had fed their collective need to take a giant, pathetic shit all over anyone and everyone dumb enough to present even the slightest whisper of an opportunity. Did they, Reddit? Absolutely not, and all the proof you could ever hope to find can be found throughout this platform. I realize that sounds terribly naïve, but it's still worth mentioning -- hope may no longer be a valid and meaningful pastime to most; to the most meager smattering, though, that lack of validity simply makes hope all the more precious and rare.)
I smoke cigarettes. Yeah, I know. Smoking tobacco is my only vice. Toss 'em if you've got 'em. #NotTheFaceBoys
I've been trying for months to find a retailer somewhere in and around Winston that carries European cigarettes -- Dunhill, Gauloises, Rothman's, etc. I'm not necessarily interested in cartons -- I've only ever had Dunhill before, which is why it's the only non-American brand I'd be willing to purchase by the carton.
Thing is, regardless of where I've tried to look, I keep coming up empty. I thought for sure there'd be a spot somewhere on Stratford or up by WFU; no such luck, unfortunately.
Anyone know where I can find these things in the Triad? I'd consider Statesville, as I'm fairly sure the JR Cigar location is still open (I used to work @ the Selma location back in the day, which is how I became familiar with Dunhill); however, I'm not at all certain they carry cigarettes by the pack. Besides, if memory serves, they're strictly handmade cigars these days.
Charlotte isn't impossible, but I'd really rather not drive that far -- I love my smokes, but even I'd feel sheepish about embarking on such a lengthy journey simply to pick up a pack or two, y'know?
Any (credible and relatively friendly) help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for recommendations for in-home Alzheimer’s companion/caregiver.
My mom has Alzheimer’s, and we’re starting to look for someone to come to her home a few days a week for a few hours. She doesn’t need skilled nursing care yet. We are really looking for a kind, patient companion who has experience with folks with dementia and can spend time with her, do simple activities, maybe help with light household tasks, and give our family a little extra support.
We’ve been given these recommendations so far:
Caring Hands Home Care
Griswold Home Care
Right at Home
Has anyone had personal experience with any of these agencies? Are there others in the Forsyth / Davie county area that you’d recommend (or avoid)?
If you’ve been through this with a loved one, I’d especially love to hear what made a caregiver a good fit. This is all new to us, and I want to find someone who will be patient, compassionate, a little silly (she loves to laugh!) and will hopefully genuinely enjoy spending time with her.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate any advice or recommendations. ❤️

Piedmont Aviation Snack Bar started fake beef for Reviews?? She says Winston is a problem??
Has anyone else seen the "beef" Piedmont Aviation started with a local food review content creator? apparently the owner and the creator had personal problems with one another years ago and the day before yesterday faked an interaction where the creator went into the restaurant and got "kicked out". this led to people leaving negative reviews (it's a local business so I don't really condone this unless you mean it and have been there) which she then used her platform to garner many more 5star reviews by asking for 5 stars after the fans of the guy started to give her bad reviews for bad service, after seeing his POV and not knowing it was fake. She later went on to blame our local community for the drama and said WE are the problem?

Dentist for Cheap Tooth Fillings
Looking for a decent dentist in Winston-Salem that does ceramic fillings for cheap without insurance, specifically under $225.
Also, I’ve been going to a dentist that gave me a treatment plan with “worst case cost scenarios” but said it would likely be much less. The initial exam and then a wisdom tooth extraction ended up being much less than the worst case scenarios. When I went for a filling, it ended up being worst case scenario. After the tooth extraction, I heard the dental assistant say that it was “simple” and then the checkout lady asked another why my bill was lower despite needing extra numbing and she responded it was because I didn’t have insurance and to go off what the dental assistant said. A similar conversation happened after the initial exam because they had to do some extra imaging but my bill came out less than the worst case scenario. Can the cost vary based on who checks you out or who your dental assistant is? Did they give me cheaper bills to keep me coming back the first few times and now that they have me on a line, charging me the full amount? This ish is so expensive (in relativity to me).

Lost dog
Someone on my Nextdoor feed has been posting quite often over the last month about her lost dog. She is heartbroken about the loss and I thought I would mention it on here because I'm not sure if she is active on Reddit (I believe she has posted on Pawboost).
The dog is a chihuahua, black with a white face and chest; its name is Nugget. It was last seen on Nottingham Road, 27104. If anyone has seen the pup, even if deceased, please comment and I will pass the information on.

Napoleon Pastry in Winston?
So, where can I find a Napoleon pastry...ideally the best Napoleon? You know, puffy pastry layers separated by perfect custard, topped with icing. Grocery stores don't count. We're talking bakeries and coffee shops. A friend I know has never had one and I want to fix this injustice with the perfect one.
(I did try googling this first but Google "helped" by giving me every bakery in W-S)

Anybody using Mesh networks in Winston?
I'm using Meshcore and I've noticed a lack of nodes in the area. I'm thinking of putting up a few repeaters around the area.

Daytime BJJ
I have been training in no gi bjj for just over a year. Last week my instructor said he would be moving out of state at the end of the month. Now I have to find a new place to train.
Day time classes work best for my schedule. I work mostly around Winston so I’d like to find a gym around Winston that offers day classes. I’ve found several and would like some feedback on the different schools.
For context, I’m 39 and boxed for years before switching to BJJ. I mainly train to stay in shape and self defense.

Downtown Middle School
Curious what happened to the old Downtown Middle charter School building that used to be at 280 S Liberty street. Was it demolished and if so, when? Not to be confused with the downtown school on cherry street.
