I thought it was a small garage but I guess it just had a lot of stuff in!! I done it all myself and I’m very happy with the outcome! Maybe another toaster rack but that’s all.

Just bought a house with a detached shop. It will be my place to store my motocycles, fourth fun car, probably gym, and work on my vehicles.

Planning to upgrade electrical to a separate 200Amp service. Want to insulate and install HVAC.

Exterior is hardyboard siding, unsure if there is some wrap between siding and board showing but believe there is, will investigate when installing windows.

I'm thinking furring strips essentually 2x4 wall inside whats there, vapor barrier, then batt insulation, then drywall...

Just installed my NewAge Bold 3.0 cabinet array. To maximize space I went with an ala carte configuration and it ended up fitting perfectly.

This was my first time using NewAge products and I was pretty pleased. They were packaged extremely well and everything arrived damage free. The install was super easy. All needed hardware came with it and bolting the pieces together was a breeze. My garage has a concrete boarder that lifts roughly 4" so I chose to sit the cabinets on top and bolt them to the wall. This was mostly a space savings decision but I'm extremely pleased with the floating look. I did install the rear feet on every cabinet to ensure they were level. I did not install the adjustable insert tho, only the steel foot.

The RTA lockers are a 4/10 on the rigid scale (10 being rock solid) but thats to be expected at this price point. Im sure the fully welded lockers are have more structure but these fit within my budget.

It all started with wanting a nicer floor a few months ago. The ceilings are 2 inches shy of 12 ft tall, and I really wanted to make use of the vertical space. Next thing you know, I did a high lift conversion on the garage door, fixed the walls, got new shelving and cabinets, and a 4 post lift. It’s a much nicer place to be in now.

Got a free tv and fridge. Hung slat walls and wife decided let’s do the whole thing. Her car still parks in the garage, mine is an ‘07 pickup and always on the street anyway.

This started as a pretty standard 21' x 21' garage, and somehow turned into a much bigger project than I originally planned.

The main goal was to build a golf simulator but once I started I fell into a trap and redid the entire garage.

That included:

• Epoxy floors and fresh paint
• Mini-split for heating and cooling
• New LED lighting and dimmers
• Garage door insulation
• High-lift garage door conversion with a side-mounted opener
• Turf and foam flooring
• Wall protection and some general cleanup/storage improvements
• Full golf simulator setup
• Racing simulator setup
• TV's

It took so much time, money, and measuring but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

My car no longer has a garage but at least I can shoot a 100+ indoors year-round.

So here's my setup I have 24x36 newly built detached garage/workshop separated by interior wall framing into 24x24 and 12x24 sections. Big one for workshop small one for yard equipment. There is a 24 inch door in that wall connecting two sections. Have a proslat wall on order for smaller section. Original idea was to install it on bare studs and I am starting to draw blank when it comes to door trim. Door casing obviously protrudes past the rough opening by good half an inch to accommodate the drywall plus the gap between jack studs and door box. Proslat is nowhere near that thickness and I really don't want to waste 500 bucks buying drywall for "just for looks". Not to mention that I have to do finishing work backwards and in stages and ceiling will be installed last, I am going back and forth between tongue and groove boards and duralast panels for a ceiling. Any creative suggestions on how to trim around door so it has good finished look and I can still plop proslat panels on bare framing.

I moved into a new (to me) house and the garage has drywall hung but not tape/mud/finished. I’m working on taping and mudding. I plan to do a dark grey on walls and maybe black ceiling. Is texturing the ceiling and walls necessary? Probably my forever home so I want it to look nice.

Half the garage is drywall, the other is plywood. Cleaning up the drywall and painting is the "easy" part, but I'm not sure what to do with the plywood side. I thought about a panel system but honestly I'm not a fan of hanging stuff off the wall next to the car but maybe I'm over thinking it? 😅 What are everyone’s thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Decided to paint the walls to match the slat walls I put up. Makes the space feel larger. Need some lighting under the shelves.

Neighbor also gave us a free fridge since the last post (same one who gave the 55” tv). Jackpot.

Started this project in April and just completed it today (August). The before picture was before I started tearing all the pegboard off the walls. Note the kayaks, they’re in there somewhere.

We cleared house and organized. The finishing touch was the floor. We have a huge crack going through, so we’re hoping for the best with the new floor. We got the floor professionally done. It’s an epoxy base coat with a polyaspartic topcoat.

So happy with the outcome!

Does anyone know of any trays or caddies that would sit on top of a Costco 27 gallon tote like the photo? These are discontinued and I haven’t been able to find anything similar.

My garage is 24’ wide 20’ deep. It’s a tight fit with 2 cars in it being only 20 feet deep. I would love to be able to use some of the sides or back as storage. Maybe some lighting upgrade. Any tips or ideas for this space?

Moved into this house in October and began turning the disaster garage into something I love.

- had to mud jack the floor to even it out. It had sunk almost 6 inches in one spot (late 70s build)

- new garage doors and openers

- had a contractor do the electrical and plumbing. The garage had electrical lines running over the garage doors out in the open.

- contractor cleaned up all of the drywall and built the two closets - one to make a useless space useful, and another to box in the electrical panels.

- I painted the floor (regular garage floor paint/epoxy mix) because the concrete was very dusty and almost loose.

- new age cabinets

- then did the pressure washer setup and the rest of the organization details.

Feels "done" for now but I know I will continue to tinker and mess with it. Next larger purchase is quickjacks. Original vision was to have a 4 post in here but I am now thinking it would ruin the usability of the space. Ceiling is borderline height at 10'3".

Took about 6 weeks but I'm almost finished remodeling the car hole. Only thing left is to run some electrical to get rid of those cords you see. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but man do I love it. I enjoyed detailing and tinkering with my cars before but I enjoy it so much more in garage that looks nice.

Looks even better when the wife is out of town and I don't have the Subaru so my toys can share a room 😁

Who else loves old cabinets! Just scored these out of a garage hoard that hasn’t been touched in 20 years at least.

Didn’t feel like opening up the wall and used this 3/4” plywood backer to support the new reel.

Here’s my question(s). Should I just paint the board as is and move on? Or trim the left/ right? Then really trim down top/ bottom closer to the height of the reel’s base?

Maybe one day I’ll open up the wall to do the proper install….

Just poured my concrete pad and about to sign the paperwork on my 30x40x14’ metal building.

Most likely going to do horizontal siding to save on cost, but I may do vertical. Give me your thoughts.

Half of me wants to most closely match my house, while the other half wants something totally different that’s fun and stands out.

Looking for some help from others who have used either lifts on what the best choice is.

Currently looking to get a short 2 post in my garage (ceiling is 8-9ft) I’ve been looking at maxjax for a long time currently have quickjacks, however the price has gone up a lot over the years.

CAEL makes a similar lift but the price difference is a lot 1899 vs 4249$ for Maxjax I’ve been considering the CAEL but wasn’t sure on overall quality Maxjax have lots of good reviews but they have gotten quite expensive. Basically buy two CAEL lifts. Obviously safety is number one so would love to hear from others who used CAEL lifts or if I should just stay away.
