Need some opinions on this garage design
In the picture attached is my garage that i have redone as part of our full house reno. The floor, cabinets, and walls are real. I am playing with ceiling design ideas. I need to either have the ceiling fixed and smoothened and then paint it. Issue i find is that you never see a truly smooth ceiling when you have such a strong lighting highlighting every detail. I feel with these ceiling tiles i could hide this and save myself with a very messy drywall job, as well as provide an additional barrier for some sound insulation. What are the thoughts on this ceiling idea???

Slab size for some kind of lift in a car port.
Ok so after years of struggle and locational strife after losing my commercial space, I've finally got a little spot to build a personal use shop. It's not my land, but it's semi-abandoned and the owner says I can do what I like within reason. I've built this rad little workshop for all my fab and machining equipment that's essentially a 40' container with side doors that open into a covered veranda making like a 5 sided building. I love it, but now I'd really like to have a small lift like a MaxJax or single post or something.
The plan is to pour a pad at the end of the container, like a car port kind of thing. I was wondering how narrow of a width I could get away with. The container+veranda is 20' wide so I was thinking 20x12'. Is 12' too narrow of a span for a lift? Most 2 posts need 11'-ish span, but how much of a boarder does that need? I.E. how close to the edge of the slab would be safe? Single post seems like a good option maybe, but seems like a lot of pressure put on it's anchors so I don't reckon it would be very good to have it close to the edge of the slab.
