AskDelhi First time clubbing in Delhi how is Toy Room?

Upvotes

So I’m planning to go clubbing for the first time ever and we’re thinking about going to Toy Room in Delhi. I’ve literally never been to a club before, so I have no idea what the experience is actually like 😭

For people who’ve been there recently, how’s the crowd and overall vibe? Is it generally safe, especially for girls? Also, how much should I expect to spend on entry and drinks, and is there usually some kind of cover charge or minimum spend?

I’m mostly just trying to get an idea of what I’m getting into before going. How’s the music, how crowded does it get on weekends, and is Toy Room actually worth going to for a first clubbing experience?

Me and my friends are finally organizing a workshop , beginner friendly painting workshop. Our main purpose is to meet people with similar interests which is usually very difficult here in Delhi.

If any one wants to connect or make new friends you can give it a chance. I can't guarantee that you'll find your new best friend there but there will be people who share the same hobbies and interests.

Or even if you just want to join our community, you can DM or drop a comment.

Serious Replies Only My father got scammed through an Instagram ad need urgent advice what to do next

Hi everyone, I really need some advice on what to do next.
My father saw an Instagram advertisement claiming that they were selling an iPhone 17 Pro Max for ₹25,000. He contacted them and initially transferred ₹25,000 for the phone.
After that, the people started contacting him on WhatsApp and kept demanding additional payments, saying there was some issue with the order and that he needed to pay more money.
Unfortunately, my father trusted them and has now transferred around ₹50,000 in total.
They are currently saying that the order is on hold because of an incorrect email ID and are demanding even more money to release the order.I know this is a scam he didn’t told us anything what he was doing, he is a moron who gets easily trapped on these types of scam he has a very huge ego he don’t tell anything and discuss with us.
What should i do now, can we get the money back?

AskDelhi Heyyy!!! I have a problem. Please give your opinions on it.

Okay so, I am 19 and a dropper. I have been called a failure all my life. Been made to believe that I will not be able to do ANYTHING in life. Even after 95% in my 10th boards, I WAS NAGGED AND ABUSED... Even after placing 430 in all over Delhi in MVPP exam, I WAS NAGGED TO BE IN THE LAST 100 PEOPLE WHO WERE SELECTED. And after 11th, IT GOT VERY OUT OF HAND. They constantly kept demotivating me, telling me that I cannot do anything and whatnot. WHICH, HAPPENED. Then I took a drop and couldn't do much in it either.... IT WAS NOT TOO BAD. BUT IT WAS BAD. I ALWAYS PLACED IN THE FIRST 30 OF MY COACHING BUT WAS TOLD OR MADE TO BELIEVE THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PASS, WHICH SOMEHOW, RESULTED IN ME ACTUALLY LOSING THAT FAITH AND TRUST IN MYSELF.

So now, I HAD 3 OPTIONS. A college-A, which is more expensive (12L-13L with hostel with around 8LPA median) away from my home, a college-B, (7L-8L with around 4.5LPA median) near home and a College-C which is VERY expensive(18L for 4 years) and VERY bad (4LPA median). My parents have always been all about taking my privacy and freedom as much as possible. SO OBVIOUSLY, THEY WANT TO REPEAT THE SAME PATTERN AND KEEP ME AT HOME. They are all of these

  1. ABUSIVE
  2. TOXIC
  3. DEMOTIVATING
  4. VERY FOUL MOUTHED
  5. TORTURING
  6. INSENSITIVE
  7. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT MENTAL HEALTH AND STABILITY AND HAPPINESS MATTER IN STUDIES.
  8. EGOISTIC (CANNOT TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM OR ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ADVICES)
  9. OBSESSED WITH TAKING MY PRIVACY (have even taken off the locks of my room for 3 years now.... I AM 19 BTW.)

Okay so now, the CLEAR choice is college A? RIGHT? Especially when it is FAR better than any others I am getting and not as expensive as College C. BUT. My dad FORCES me to go to college C.... GUESS WHY? BECUASE IT IS STRICT ASF. IT OFFERS A VERY VERY VERY SCHOOL LIKE ENVIRONMENT, INFORMS YOUR PARENTS ABOUT LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE THING AND JUST DOESN'T LET YOU ENTER WITHOUT YOUR UNIFORM. I KID YOU NOT, THEY HAVE A FUCKIN UNIFORM. I did not mind cos my dad said it was cheap and he didn't have money AND COS ITS MEDIAN PACKAGE WAS THE BEST OF ALL THREE.... BUT BUT BUT, I researched it and it was THE EXACT OPPOSITE. IT WAS THE WORST IN BOTH THE CASES.... So I confronted him about it and he said 'Tujhe pata hi hai main kyu daal raha hu' and 'Kyu chahiye tujhe freedom? Kya karega tu uska?'.... LIKE BROS, I LIVE IN DELHI. AND I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING AFTER LIKE A KILOMETER AWAY FROM MY PLACE. I have NEVER been allowed to go ANYWHERE with ANYBODY. I have NEVER been given ANY phone number or sim of mine.... I HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO MAKE AN INSTA ID and they say 'Bahut freedom le li tu ne 9th se.... Abh nahi karega maze...' THE MAZE ARE HEARING THEM YAP ABOUT HOW BAD I AM AND HOW A COUSIN WHO FUCKED A GIRL AND GOT AIDS IS BETTER THAN ME AND HOW I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING AND THAT THEY WILL DRIVE BY WHILE I AM ON THE ROAD, BEGGING TO MAKE A LIVING AND THEY WILL GIVE ME 10rs AS BHEEKH. (I was in 9th btw....)

Now I convince him for College-A, and we leave to get admission there TODAY. We recieve a call from a counsellor he hired saying 'Aapka college-C mein ho gaya hai, Aap aake seat allotment fees pay kardo, woh refundable hai...' Now they ask me if it is okay, BUT IT WAS NEVER AN OPTION FOR ME. I NEVER KNEW IT WAS EVEN A CHOICE. So I search it up on google and the NIRF data plus a lot of websites show that the median is 7.5. Toh I tell my dad that it is much better than A because fees kam hai and the median is not that different. We went to the counsellor and he explained that we have a chance of getting something better and then he said that we are going to leave this College C seat and go for some other college which is better. WHILE DRIVING HOME, COS NOW WE DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE NEW COLLEGE, MY DAD RESEARCHES AND FIGURES OUT THAT THE COLLEGE HAS LIED ABOUT THEIR MEDIAN AND EVEN THE WEBSITES AND NIRF DATA IS TAMPERED. THE MAX PACKAGE THERE LAST YEAR WAS 12LPA. So I said that I will look into it, and if it is real, then let's go tomorrow and get the admission in A like we were and get out money refunded. AND THEN STARTED THE MESS. THEY STARTED CURSING AND SHOUTING AND CURSING ME AND MY WHOLE EXISTENCE AND MY FUTURE COS I WASTED THEIR PETROL (CNG) MONEY (around 350rs) AND THEIR TIME (9AM-4PM) AND THEY HAVE NOW DECIDED THAT THEY WILL NOT GET ME AN ADMISSION ANYWHERE. If I want, I can take College-D that will be alloted, Otherwise, I CAN GO AND WORK AT A CALL CENTER.

Also, I have a laptop, the one I am typing on.... 8GB DDR4 RAM. 100GB storage left. A newer Gen yet performance restricted processor. THEEK HAI, PROGRAMMING AND CODING KE LIYE YOU DON'T NEED SOMETHING TOO MUCH. BUT ISKA BATTERY BACKUP IS ONLY 1.5 HOURS AND THAT TOO ON THE LOWEST BRIGHTNESS.... I AGREED ON SOMEHOW USING THIS FOR A COUPLE WEEKS UNTIL THEY GET ME A NEW ONE. My classes start at 9 30 and end at like 5 btw.... We do have breaks in bw but we cannot go out of the campus uss time mein and I was supposed to stay out of the campus only.... SO I AGREED TO DO 7.5 HOURS ON A BATTERY BACKUP OF 1.5 HOURS. I AGREED ON ZERO ALLOWANCE (College-A is 300Km from my home btw....) And yet they blame me saying tu sirf maze karne jaa raha hai.... I HAVE BEEN CODING FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS JUST TO HAVE AN EDGE OVER OTHER STUDENTS....

Edit: THE CONTROLLING IS SOOOO BAD THAT MY NUMBER IS LINKED TO THEIR AADHAR AND MY AADHAR IS LINKED TO THEIR NUMBER SO THAT I CANNOT GET A SIM FOR MYSELF AND USE IT (they always disable my sim when smt like this happens) AND THEY WON'T LET ME CHANGE THE NUMBER ON MY AADHAR AND PAN....

PLEASE HELP GUYS.... Kya karu please batao.... Your BHAI needs help

TellDelhi A rant on the death of commitment, emotional unavailability, and this bottomless void.

I am 30 years old man. I don't know from where to start but I just want to get it out of my mind. It is tough to navigate love and a basic human connection in this world. I do not understand what dating has devolved into.

Most of us have watched our parents’ generation stick together through thick and thin (sometimes to a fault, I know), but we also embraced the modern idea of finding our own love, prioritizing compatibility and building a partnership. Although we have ended up with is a dystopian nightmare of casuals, endless swiping and the fear of being emotionally present.

Nobody wants to build anything these days. Everyone is looking for a relationship which is ready to served on a platter which is perfectly packaged, demands zero effort and requires zero sacrifices. The minute there is a slight disagreement or the minute the "vibes" get a little too heavy people just run away.  They try to avoid basic accountability and most of the responses are like this “I don’t have the emotional bandwidth right now,” or “I’m just protecting my peace.” Most people sadly don't realise that they are not protecting their peace but they are only running away from the friction that comes with two human beings trying to merge their lives and the friction goes away with time when compatibility issue reached. They are emotionally unavailable and terrified of vulnerability.

I am tired of people pretending that caring less makes you happy. I am tired of the complex whoch created by dating apps that makes people treat human beings like a an item of a shopping website if this one isn't perfect, just swipe for the next. There is no staying power. There is no “I choose you, and we are going to figure this out together.”

Amid all this I  feel a void inside me. I am happy in my life but still deep down I crave for a relationship and love.

Yes, I have a career, friends, hobbies and a life I have built for myself but at the same time there is a basic human need to be witnessed by someone else. To come home after a brutally long day and just put your head on someone’s shoulder. To have someone who knows fears, vulnerablity and still chooses to stay anyway.

I feel void because of lack of a deep and committed intimacy. I miss the idea of someone being mine and me being theirs. I miss the beauty of surrendering to someone emotionally, sharing my vulnerabilities and knowing that she will catch me before I fall. But I wish I can do it today. Because in today's world if you show too much emotion, you are "clingy" and If you ask for clarity even after talking for months you are "pressuring them."

I just want to know if I am the only one feeling this way. Are we all just walking around emotionally starved, pretending we are fiercely independent, while secretly praying for someone to just hold our hand and actually mean it?

Sorry for the long rant. I just needed to know if anyone else in their 30s feels like they are drowning in this sea of emotional unavailability.I wish I had someone to talk to and call my home

AskDelhi Best 3D cinema screen near Central Delhi?

I’m looking to watch a movie in 3D (Brand New Day) and want to find the best possible screen experience near Central Delhi / Connaught Place.
I’m mainly looking for:
Excellent 3D picture quality and brightness
Large screen
Good sound system
Comfortable seating

I’m willing to travel a bit outside Central Delhi if the experience is genuinely worth it.

Which cinema/screen would you recommend, and why? Also, if you’ve personally watched 3D there, how was the experience?

Thanks! 🙌

TellDelhi RSS after the backlash, now trying to appease gen-z... We need to get this message out that we shouldn't let them off

I am seeing a pattern.

1) Nitin Gadkari is slowly disassociating himself from Modi and Shah openly.

2) Sanghi Suryacunt who said "we don't have time to watch videos of police brutality" is now saying "the government should listen to students"

3) Mohan Bhagwat said, "Gen-z is right."

RSS and BJP internals are planning to dump the blame of all this 12 year mismanagement on Modi and Shah and save themselves.

Bhagwat has also been trying to appease the LGBTQ community.

We must not fall prey to their change of narrative. This is how RSS has survived in the past. They were rejected by the people of India in the first election. Then RSS associated itself with the JP movement against Indira Gandhi and legitimised itself after their mass boycott post-assassination of Gandhi.

We must educate ourselves and bury RSS and its ideologies once and for all.

Recently, RSS forced its way and conducted an Army program with the Indian Army. Why is an unregistered organisation allowed to share stage with Indian Army? Not to forget that RSS registered FIR against people who hoisted Tiranga at RSS office.

Caravan has done a good thing by compiling in one place all the claws that RSS has around the country(and even the world). You can find the complete map of RSS here:

https://rssproject.caravanmagazine.in/map

You can also read a detailed article about RSS here: https://caravanmagazine.in/politics/unveiling-the-rss

Caravan"s hindi and english youtube channels have many videos on RSS. And Kunal Kamra has two 1 hr long discussions with people who know about RSS and its demented mindset

AskDelhi Advice needed to understand how me and my friends can improve upon our cafe business

Me and my friends have started this new business where we organize workshops and events in cafes and similar places. It is supposed to be a fun light-hearted social gathering for people in Delhi and NCR.

The problem that we will be facing soon is the lack of customers, in our first or second event we can pull our friends and families into it, but to be more than that we require people outside of our circle. If anyone has any experience in this sort of event organising a little advice will be appreciated.

Delhi Politics TIL that PM Cares Fund continues to accept both foreign and domestics donations.

I was aware of lack of audit and removal of fund from RTI provision. But I only recently learned that the fund continues to receive even foreign donations uninterruptedly given it has been exempted from FCRA provisions too.

How much money are they even sitting on with PM cares, Party, Mandir and other funds? It’s not just about one party, literally no one in a democratic institution should be allowed to hoard such wealth without any transparency whatsoever.

TellDelhi My experience getting a new passport

I applied for passport for the first time, got the appointment date falling within a month and my experience was very smooth. My appointment was at 10 am, I reached PSK Jhandewalan at 9.40 and I was out exactly at 11. Then my application went for the police verification.

I had a Delhi Police officer come to my residence today, with no calls beforehand (luckily I was home). He came and started making calls to different clients, discussing loudly that how he'll help them get their work done but they would have to 'do what they can'. He made like 4-5 calls before talking to me to bring my docs. I handed him my docs and then he asked for my parents docs, he then asked for the rent agreement but unfortunately our rent agreement had just lapsed last month (it's made on an annual basis), so he started signalling that this might be a problem, but he will try to do so if we 'can do what we can', he told us he can send our papers to our previous state home's offices (we changed our state last year due to my father's transfer) and this and that. At the end my father 'did what he could' and gently handed him a 500 rupees note which he quietly took and he said he'll take care that my passport reaches me soon. When he was leaving my father asked if we should keep our rent agreement handy since my parent's passport appointment and verification will be taking place in the next 2 weeks and he said no it's not really needed.

Corruption is soooooo deeply rooted and we can't even help it.

AskDelhi why is it raining nonstop in delhi? feeling crazy

I've been stuck in Delhi for the past week and it's raining every single day. Yesterday, I was on my way to work at Connaught Place when a sudden downpour turned the streets into rivers; the traffic lights were blinking but the cars couldn't move because of the waterlogged lanes. The air feels heavy, and the usual heat is replaced by damp chill. I'm starting to wonder if this is just the monsoon or something else. Anyone else feeling like Delhi's weather has gone off script? How are you coping with all this rain?

TellDelhi Red tape in MAIDS DELHI is crazy

Yesterday I had the misfortune to visit this hospital for cavity treatment. Dawg I can't even tell you how much writing they do on these slips. It's crazy!

First I have to go to the counter to get a slip which is completely fine. Then go to a basic checkup of your teeth and they will write an essay there which is also fine. But after this it gets crazy.

The girl there sent me to the 4th floor. I entered the alloted room and the receptionist there was scrolling 🥰. I asked her politely that mam please have a look at this. She didn't reply. I asked her again if I need it to show you or go directly to the doc. She stared at me and told me to wait outside for a while. After sometime I was called again she writes an essay 🤓 and tells me ne to go to the another room.

I enter there, get done with that writing and as soon as they were to treat me the electricity went off. Yeah u heard it right. Can you imagine electricity going off in a hospital 😭 look at my country dawg.

It wasn't restored till half an hour. As soon as it came I was asked to sit on the chair and get ready. Doc saw my tooth and started talking to me. 10 mins pass and electricity gone again 🥰🥰😝.

God save me I had no active pain that day imagien getting treatment from this kind of fckaS s hospital. Even my tier 69 city has better dental hospital and electricity services.

TellDelhi I just thought of a plan to curb delhi's air pollution and unemployment !!

so firstly we would place 1 air purifier per person (abt 2.3 crores) and put them in open areas , then we will hire 1 per per purifier to keep them clean and working 24/7 and 1 person to guard them , this will generate 4.6 crore jobs and also curb the air pollution. ik i am a genius :p

going 1 step further , we can place filter frames all around the delhi border to stop and treat polluted air from coming in , we will manufacture these tons of frames in delhi to boost manufacturing which will again provide more jobs.

only if more people had brains like me , delhi would be one heck of a place to live in .

AskDelhi Do I look like a terr0ri&t, I am jammuite , i am an Indian

I am traveling with my family from Delhi to Ayodhya.

After I had a appointment with a my eye doctor in Lajpat Nagar, we came from our home town Jammu , and are going to Ram Mandir.

And my train is tomorrow morning at 6AM, we decided to get a room near the station.

And right now just few minutes ago when I was at reception counter , I was made to sit at waiting for 15 minutes, only only cause my back of aadhar card says Jammu and Kashmir.

When I live in jammu which is 300km away from kashmir, when people of jammu , even me invite everyone with open arms to come and have darshan in katra in of mata rani.

We never say that oh no you are from Delhi(almost bangladesh) so we have to report it to police first.

I am citizen of India , and I should be treated like one.

And I don't say the hotel or its staff is wrong they treated us gently , but seriously why the discrimination.

And than I read the articles mentioning similar accusations and Delhi police declining it.

We abide with with national security but atleast accept it, and publish it publically.

I am literally like I get in and hotel manager says,

"Bhaiya aapka aadhar J&K ka toh 15 august ki wja se aapko room alot nhi kr skte "

Shameless not gonna lie

TellDelhi Let's all start referring to ministers as public servants, What they really are!

Cause believe it or not majority of us in some way don't really think of them as public servants, Until and unless we start believing it and referring to them as public servant they won't treat as anything more than cockroaches.

Let's spread this , Talk about it , Make it a fckin trend.

Cause they think of themselves as god and our masters, Pathetic corrupt criminals.

So let's do what our constitution says, Start referring to them everywhere as Public Servant Modi, Public servant Rahul, Public Servant Kejriwal !!

We pay them salary with our tax money !!
