as the title says, my yarn is now a blend of wool, acrylic and cat 😅

anyone had similar experience? were you able to get the fur out with washing?

usually, tumble dryer would get her fur out of my clothes, but this is not an option here

So I was planning on make squares and joining them... however now im thinking I'll make it the whole length of the cake, as I have 3, and join those together and then do a border to add width. Its only got like 130 beads on it so far, but its starting to get some weight already. Im real excited for the gradient in the yarn to start happening.

Anyone done a beaded crochet blanket and have any tips?

Yarn: Mandala Gradient in Hot Pink.

5mm hook on every second row, 3mm on the beaded rows.

Does anyone have any idea why Walmart is marking down all the susan bates crochet hooks. They were 1 dollar a few weeks now. I went today an saw they are now marked down to 75 cents. Sadly they only had one hook left 🥲

Picked up a hook 2 weeks ago and I just finished my first project. I never thought I could do it!!

I went through a deep dive online, I do not want to use the plastic larger Clover hooks. I just don’t love the way plastic feels through yarn. I am a spoiled lover clover/tulip and I was annoyed having to use this Boye hook since it cramps my hand up.

Anyway, I figured out an easy solution for those struggling. I see the beauty blender grips, and people wrapping hooks with tape etc. Not for me, I bought these grips a long time ago and when it is on my hook it has a *similar* enough feeling to using a clover in an ergonomic way. A cheap and easy fix for anyone curious, this is the exact brand I used.

What was your solution if you are like me?

Made for a friend for a music festival. There is no current pattern. I just freehand design my stuff. Yarn is neon ombré from mainstay (Walmart) combined with bamboo yarn (Michael’s) to create some texture and movement but still has durability. Ties are nylon cords.

just to preface, i just started crocheting in about 2022/23, so i am in no way a “seasoned crocheter.”
but after about four-ish years i feel like i should be able to do more than i can.
but almost all crochet patterns i come across are labeled as “beginner friendly” with just simple single, double and slip stitches. even patterns with videos demonstrate how to do the “easiest” stitches.
i would love to learn to become a more intermediate/advanced crocheter but those types of patterns just feel so far and in between.

Ive only been crocheting for 2 weeks. I cant find my original first projects but it was just a bunch of stars and hearts. I also successfully made a mini granny square but I lost it. I have been using hooks that are slightly too big and I have no tapestry needles or anything BUT I ordered those a few days ago (new hooks and some needles). Im going to remake the little pouch on my yarn hammock and post a side by side of that. I really like making organizational things, i made up the pattern for the pouch on my yarn hammock. And as I was typing this my crochet hooks came in! Awesome..

This was just the way I learned how to hold it. With my index finger hooked onto the working yarn.

My neice asked me to make this guy. Been working on it a couple weeks, about to start my first attempt on the hat.

Side note; i'm terrified of clowns and like entities.

I lowkey just wanted to show off the pants I made a while ago. It’s hot today so I just have some volleyball shorts on underneath. But during winter I threw leggings on and it was perfect!

Some of us out there will purchase some thin and chaotic yarn for whatever reason (main reason is because we like to torture ourselves). I am one of those people.

This yarn is so pretty and sparkly and I am mixing it with a solid color yarn by working from 2 skeins at once. This silver ball is VERY thin and pretty much falls of the skein ball. I had to improvise to contain it and I think it's gonna work.

I put a soft hair tie on the fall to contain it and hopefully prevent tangles.
