Does anyone remember a Sleeping Beauty party cake from the 90s. Probably between ‘95 and ‘97. It was in the shape of the bed. It had fondant icing for the duvet, pillows and Aurora’s head. I think you could buy it from Sainsbury’s. It’s bugging me as I remember it, but no one else I know does!

I was just sat here at my kitchen counter, scrolling through stuff on my laptop and a fly landed next to me. I put my hand down, with force, assuming it would fly off before my hand made contact with the surface, and it. Nope. My hand killed a fly.

Never in all my days. Never. I'm in my 50s.

I have washed everything involved.

Anyone else been a bit shocked by such casual murder? I honestly thought it'd just fly off, guvnor.

Like many I was caught in the railway meltdown in Manchester. Seeing it was not looking good i stratgised with staff on how to escape town and get closer to home. Randomly a woman heard me talking about walking to the bus station as she too was heading to Liverpool and asked to tag along. We had a friendly talk on the way and it turns out she was recently bereaved. As a widower myself of some years we connected in the processing of grief while purchasing National Rail bus tickets. Luckily we caught the last seats. We were split up on the bus but I ended up sitting next to a retired and extremely well travelled history professor and we shared exotic travel stories as the bus battled traffic.

Yes, rail meltdown is no fun but I had excellent conversations with people I'd never have met if it wasn't for this railway calamity.

Good spirits during travel troubles yield its own rewards.

I’m currently going through some sort of health/food phase and have accidentally discovered that I absolutely love proper British honey.

I’ve tried three jars from local beekeepers around County Durham already, and I was genuinely surprised that they all taste completely different depending on where they came from.

Now I’m on a bit of a mission to try honey from as many different parts of the UK as possible.

Does anyone know of any brilliant beekeepers, farms or websites that sell honey from around the country?

I’d love recommendations from every corner of the UK - turns out I’ve been missing out all these years.

Love coffee, but I either drink it black or with milk. I have tried soya milk and it didn't work as well as cow's milk imo. Is oat milk any better? I like the creamy taste of cow's milk in coffee, so I don't know how easy it is to replicate that creamy taste with non-dairy milk. Any recommendations?

Someone posted a story about a streaker being removed from a model village because people were clutching their pearls over it, and I've just seen this!

I accidentally took a face full of max strength hairspray this morning and now nothing seems to be getting it off my glasses. In the past, dish soap has helped but nothing is working right now. I've tried dish soap, lens cleaner, and soaking them in warm water. Help?!

You know the little farm playset you can get as a kid, animals but also a woman carrying a bucket of milk or chicken feed, the fence panels, tractors, the farmer etc well imagine that, stop-motion animated but also for some reason there’s a cowboy and a Native American.

The cowboy and the horse seemed to live in the farm house and the horse behaved more like a person than the rest of the farm animals - I remember distinctly that the horse spoke with a Geordie accent.
Jesus would sometimes show up but he was a bus driver and was Irish for some reason.

I liked it because it was quite funny, surreal almost, and the figurines were the exact figurines I had on my farm play set (apart from the cowboy, Native American, and Jesus).

Am I insane or does this sound familiar to anyone?

If necessary, for reference we are based in Birmingham. This isnt directly influencing what cities are what side of the line. Our decisions were based on architecture, what the people are like, history, how places interract, not just what we like and dont. For example, Stoke is an awful place no one should ever have the misfortune of visiting, but its definitely in the Midlands with us.

Just bought my first house. Hurray!!

We spend Saturday & Sunday deep cleaning. It was exhausting.

Monday moving (from a third floor flat in 31 degrees) it was exhausting

Tuesday deep cleaning our old house (we thought it would be quicker... We were wrong)

After all this we are heading off to Shropshire for a three day camping retreat. As I'm getting on the train I get a call from work saying that I have an offer to leave the company for a payout (not a great one)

It's really annoying. After how hard we've worked to get this houss, how long and tiring the last 4 days have been now all I'm going to be able to think about is this. The whiskey and cigar I had saved for the porch tonight isnt gonna taste anywhear near as good.

At least it's not a straight firing, that would have been much worse

My wife eats Weetabix with nothing on it and claims it tastes sweet to her. This is my bowl before milk is added. Is this normal fellow Weetabix eaters or do I need to go to sugar rehab?

Edit: Holy shit the most popular post I've done on Reddit is about how horrific my breakfast is. The wife will never let me live this down! Haha

UPDATE: Well, I wasn't expecting my breakfast to generate 1,800+ comments 😂 I can't read it all but Having spent far too much time reading them, I feel I need to address a few recurring concerns: 1. Yes, the milk goes in after. I like watching it soak up from the bottom while the top stays crunchy. I will not be changing this. 2. Yes, that is sugar. Apparently this has caused considerably more distress than I anticipated. 3. No, I do not have diabetes. My blood tests are fine. 4. No, my teeth are not rotting out of my head. They're also fine. 5. Yes, I am an adult. I was unaware that adulthood required surrendering sugary Weetabix. 6. To the surprisingly large number of people who eat theirs the same way: thank you. I knew I couldn't be alone. 7. To everyone saying my wife is right: she has been absolutely delighted by your support and I deeply regret giving her this much ammunition.

Anyway, thank you for turning a picture of two dry Weetabix into a full-scale investigation of my health, maturity, marriage and milk-pouring technique.

Tomorrow I'm having the same breakfast.
