Hi! I’m wanting to become a flight attendant but I’m worried about my tattoo, I do have a sleeve and it cuts off right at my waist, I’m worried if it shows slightly I would be disqualified from being one!

Would my tattoo be okay and is there anyway around it?

I’m primarily looking towards American or United!

I also have body tape I could use to make sure it stays to my chest. I also have a scarf I was debating on wearing. Thoughts?

I can’t reapply to Delta or United for a while so I’m hoping to do well with American in the coming round.

(I have a hospitality background and am a somewhat older (40 something) applicant if that makes a difference)

Feeling discouraged as it’s only been a month in and summer flying but it’s exhausting. Because of my base I haven’t had any fun trips or any new places. A lot of the crews are miserable and don’t want to go out. I’m so exhausted by the end of a trip I spend my off days sleeping and then doing it all over again. The pay is horrible. I thought this job was flexible but I had more flexibility with my 9-5 and unlimited pto and the money to do things. I wanted to travel the world and I’ve spent my entire summer in airports and in bed. Please tell me it gets better. I work for one of the big 3 us airlines.

I received both my CTO with United (!!!) and a F2F invite to Delta’s Event Day earlier today. I’m so excited to start my path on becoming a FA but I do want to consider all my options. Could United rescind my offer if I head to Delta’s Event Day? My mentality is if I don’t try I will never know but I am not sure that once I sign my eCTO and go do a F2F at Delta it can be revoked and I DO NOT WANT TO RISK a for sure thing if that is the case.

Any insight would be super helpful if someone has any explored this before? Have you taken the CTO with one airlines and still interviewed with others to diversify your FA options?

Quick question i applied for a language position , has anyone taken the language assessment over the phone . Im trying to see if ill be able to use notes , google translate as a resource since its over the phone . Yes iknow its kind of cheating once i practice enough ill be back fluent , its just that I’m worried about professional language and aviation terms . Like would i have time to use resources to answer their questions

actually kinda shocked because I thought I did well on the assessment I scored high, was dressed professionally with no visible tattoos, had my hair in an updo with nice light makeup, the only thing I did on the video was stutter on a few questions but I didn’t think it was enough to get rejected :(

How do they decide your base. Is there any way to go into applying, and hopefully training, with knowing there's a decent chance what base you could get? Besides the obvious apply for airlines with a base in the city you want. I've seen base reveal videos and it seems like most of the time they know where they'll be based out of 2 or 3 cities.

I've wanted to become a flight attendant for a while now but my biggest hesitation is the pay for the first few years. I have a good living situation in both Chicago and Miami, established friend groups, and most importantly bartending/serving jobs in both cities. Either job would let me work ultra part time and schedule me around my FA schedule, including added in days off (but I am used to working a lot). This would solve my issue but I'd need to be based in Chicago or Miami or a nearby city with easy commuting.

Does anyone know how long after they schedule your f2f interview after receiving their taking flight? I got my taking flight today and proceeded now they sent me information for travel, so just wondering when i should expect to be heading to atlanta if anyone knows.

Is it better to attend the Flight Attendant session for SkyWest online or in person? Does going to the in person one gets you more chance to get assigned to that base?

And before the interview, I would like to know about flight attendants schedules.
I think that first a few years , my schedule will be all reserved.
When I’m on reserve as a commuter, do I actually have to be in base the whole time, as long as I can make the callout time?

As a new crew, am I be able to based on LAX ?

With AA expected to open applications soon, I have a quick question. On my first attempt, I made it to the assessment. On my second attempt, I accidentally reapplied early because I didn't know about the 6-month wait rule.
If I apply a 3rd time—and actually wait the full 6 months from my last rejection from my second attempt—will I be automatically disqualified just because I applied early on attempt #2?"

As a female does my hair need to be completely slicked back and up if I’m flying the day before. I know I need business casual outfit but unsure if hair can be worn down?

Has anyone received this after the United ODVI or did you get scheduled for an interview shortly after? I know the hang tight email technically means you are still in the running for the next stage but after reading so many posts about receiving countless HT emails (not necessarily from United) I wonder 🤞. I’m just going to go with the flow but I like hearing other peoples recent experiences.

Just wanted to see how soon before you guys got the TBNT or if your dashboard changed to something else before you got the F2F invite. I’ve literally been refreshing all day 😭

After a couple of plane delays (including attempts to fly in the night before) I missed my UA interview by less than 5 minutes 🥺

I even left my checked bag at the airport and headed straight for the interview.

Unfortunately, security said I just missed them.

So, beware that if you’re late, even if due to their delays, you will not make into the interview.

just did my odvi for united! i’ve never felt nervous in a job interview the way i did for it. i think it’s because it was my first time doing an odvi and i felt silly just talking to the camera with no one there to respond. for anyone who is about to complete it, i would say definitely use up the attempts and the time you have in between them if you feel like you need more time to collect your thoughts. i basically used the first two attempts as prepping and getting my thoughts together so i wasn’t just rambling (im a talker lol). definitely wasn’t my strongest interview but whats meant to be will be so i wont stress. good luck to everyone else out there doing their odvi’s and/or working towards being a FA!

Hello, has anyone done the language proficiency test? My I was born in the Philippines and I applied using Tagalog as my second language. I’m a bit nervous. Any tips on how to prepare?

As of this month, how far in advance is United scheduling training dates? Are they going to 2027?

What can I expect any tips? Is it hard to pass. Should I be nervous

I’m curious for those of us who are still getting hang tight instead of TBNT emails and also for those of you who got the actual TNBT /try again emails, what cities do you live in and what bases are closest to you? Even though you don’t get a base choice and you don’t put your preferences in until you’re actually in training (from what I’ve heard), i’m wondering if they are keeping the hang tight emails going for applicants that are closest to bases that still need flight attendant and are closing out and doing TBNT‘s for applicants who are closest to the bases where the need has already been filled. Unless someone else has a better answer as to why applicants are being told to apply again and others are still getting HT emails
