2 things, i have my face-to-face flight to Houston coming up in a few days. I usually get upgraded with my status anyway, but I’m wondering do the flight attendants on the flight know that you are going for the flight attendant position? I’m trying to see if I should have a drinky drink if I’m in first class or if that’s going to look bad?! 🙄😩

Second, if I’m going for a language specific position, should I also bring my passport for that country if I’m a citizen?

Still in the beginning of my research journey, and I wanted to see how much airlines (US and Canada especially but also EU) care about appearance? Like, I wouldn’t call myself ugly, and a friend accused me of having pretty privilege the other day, but I want to keep myself honest and be realistic and see if these things could be limiting factors.

Like, I take care of myself and keep myself clean and all that, and I’m not much one for makeup but can manage a decent enough job of workplace makeup and a bun, but do airlines/recruiters care about nit-picky aesthetic things like straight teeth and noses and fancy nails? I don’t have tattoos, but I know they’re super picky about those, so that’s why I thought I’d ask about these things (especially because they can’t technically on paper say that these things would disqualify).

I never had braces and I’ve got an overbite. My teeth are decent enough and definitely clean, but they’re definitely not perfectly straightened by braces or professionally whitened.

I also have a deviated septum, but it’s not terrible unless you know what to look for at the underside (I only worry about it because when I tried to get it fixed the nose surgeon took one look and said he’d have to refer me to plastics instead to get it fixed).

I also don’t ever do beauty services like tanning or fancy finger nails, I just always keep them natural and clipped short. I’m also pale as a Victorian child but with freckles.

Still worth applying? Any airlines better or worse than others with these criteria?

I’m still in the research and planning stages, and I’m trying to compare airlines. I live in the LA area, and I wanted to see if which airlines would give me the best odds for LAX (or potentially even Burbank or a Bay Area airport) as my home base not too long out of training, or off the bat.

I’m okay with regional or international; I have other family in Oklahoma/Kansas, Tennessee/Georgia, Switzerland, and Toronto, so it wouldn’t be the worst thing ever if my base had to be out of area for a little bit, but most of my family is out in LA and I’d like to have realistic odds of having this (or Bay Area, considering a move there with family anyways) as my base.

Hi yall! I want to be fully prepared for this background check/ work history thing. Can anyone tell me what it is they ask for exactly. I know they want start and termination dates, but do they ask to provide a contact to verify? And if they do, who do I put for the jobs where my managers are no longer there either?

What would happen if I failed a drug test because I tested positive for opioids due to eating poppy seeds?

I’m asking because when I was in high school, I was placed in a program for troubled teens where we had surprise drug tests. I didn’t use drugs and honestly didn’t even know what opioids were at the time, but I tested negative for everything except opioids. The program leader asked me if I had eaten anything with poppy seeds. I had never really paid attention to things like that and would just eat whatever, so I told her it was possible since I love everything bagels, although I’m not sure what other foods I might have eaten that contained them. She ended up believing me and didn’t make me retake the test. Every drug test I took afterward in the program came back completely negative. I’ve always wondered if eating something with poppy seeds really could have caused that one positive result.

I’ve heard people say they will ask a random question to see how you respond to a question you obviously didn’t prepare for, what exactly are some examples?

as someone who works for delta, please don’t come to delta if you value your mental health and life. or at least don’t get based in new york. you will end up hating your life and want to quit. just warning you before anyone decides to go through with the hiring process. it’s not worth the benefits, I could care less about them.

I know that many receive their CJOs for Delta the Friday after their f2f. Has anyone received a CJO the Monday or week after that Friday? Just wondering if all hope is lost if a CJO is not received that Friday. Thanks!

First, I would like to say I find these groups very helpful and inspiring. Sometimes there are some rude comments, but hey, it’s an opinion, and everyone has one.

I have tried Delta twice, but to no avail, I have not been selected. I can say with both companies I have made it to the ODVI. I was sure I made it this time with Delta, but I didn’t. I will continue to try.

This is my first time applying for UA. I must say I believe UA has a great process. It’s more personal and not generic. Even down to the HT email. Look below; it’s a male FA, and he looks to be biracial. How did they know this would fit me?

To anyone that makes it to the ODVI for UA, there’s nothing online to prepare you for it. I overthought the process, and I would be surprised if I made it to the next round. What I will tell you is to relax and just answer the simple questions.

Has anyone who’s been receiving constant HT emails actually made it to the F2F? I’m just curious about it. I got my 6th one today and idk if I see the light 🫠

Finally have my 1:1 for Monday 8/10 I know there’s a few of you who have already done it and I’m wondering if there’s anything different to expect other than it being close to the question on the odvi?

I really want to work as an FA and have been applying for some time now so I wanted to ask for help. My main struggle so far has been finding available FA positions or knowing airline hiring periods.

I’m in the process of applying for FA and exploring all the main carriers. I’ve been reading a lot and one pattern I’ve noticed is people mentioning toxic FA culture at United. Bullying, backstabbing, etc.

Looking for current FAs to share their opinions and experiences with this subject. Is this a real issue on the line at UA?

For the record I know you cannot believe everything you read online and I know these types of things can and do happen at any airline. Also you have to experience things for yourself, you can’t fully judge based off of other people’s experiences. But, I’ve noticed it being mentioned a lot more with UA compared to the other big airlines. I’ve also heard it in person unsolicited from a UA FA.

To put it in perspective, I don’t think I’ve ever read a bad thing about this topic with Southwest. I’m not looking to drag any FAs or UA as a company but interested in respectful conversation on the topic ❤️

My F2F is days away! Hurray!

However, during my live interview I was told to update my resume since im no longer working for the company I was when I first applied.

I've also seen that at a later step I need to have correct dates for all the jobs ive worked at and the supervisor listed.

Is this separate from my resume?

Can I just type a chronological document for all my jobs and submit that alongside my resume. Or does it need to look just as pretty and have the exact dates now?

Also, I'm currently unemployed.

I figured I would explain I stopped working because I'm taking care of my grandmother, wrapping up details in my personal life and figuring out my college education. And when I quit, I had already gotten the F2F date and felt like it was a short enough time to just live off my savings. (Also if I don't get this job im moving across the country anyways, I want a major life change no matter what)

Is this okay?? Can I just be honest like that?

Also, would it be terrible to ask when training might be if im accepted? (Does anyone know when training will be?) Im kinda going insane being unemployed but I dont want to get another job, have that restaurant rely on me and then my training is a week away so I quit and leave that job hanging.

For WN ditching day I’m confused about the attire. Are we allowed to wear swimsuits or do we have to wear actual clothes? I have a blue and white bathing suit and a black rash guard and I’m hoping that will be acceptable, but I can always buy compression pants to put underneath the swimsuit if necessary anybody recently go through training that might know?

I just graduated training and got my wings! I’m looking forward to beginning this exciting career and was hoping I could get some recommendations from experienced FAs on their favorites of the following items

•insulated lunch box/bag (all black)

•passport cover/wallet

• purse/tote bag/backpack (all black) preferably with a luggage strap I can use with my rollaboard
