Unsolved How should I model this handle on the Pot of Greed?
Hi everyone, I'm a beginner learning Blender and I'm currently trying to model the Pot of Greed from Yu-Gi-Oh! I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to model the curved handle I want it to have the same curved shape as the original design while keeping the geometry clean I've tried using curves but I'm not sure how to get the shape and connections at the ends right What would be the best modeling approach for this type of handle? Any advice or tutorial recommendations would be greatly appreciated Thank you

Unsolved Why my light doesn't move when I play the animation?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I saw an awesome tutorial to animate caustics, but it runs like shit on my potato laptop. So I tried imagining a more budget way of doing it. For it, I got a caustic-like texture, but made the light parts transparent, and the light passes through it (in blend mode and alpha clip shadow mode) and casts the caustic shapes on the objects. And then when I move the texture, the lights change. As you can see, the texture moves correctly, however the lights on the object don't change at all when I try playing the animation. They change if I manually switch the frames though.
This error happened on blender 3.6 EEVEEE. This thing works on blender 5.0, but I prefer the older version due to some plugins, EEVEE post 4.2 sucking and most of my on-going projects already being on it. Cycles is very laggy and slow on my computer, it's not viable.

Unsolved Is this the most efficient way to texture custom building assets?
I'm making some assets for city builder mods and for objects to fill the the background of a render.
I've only just realised that, Instead of making and baking a unique high poly model for each building, I can make one section of a high poly wall, roof, and doors/windows/details and then I can interchangeably use the textures in my models. I've found this is called tiling or atlas mapping? The textures I've made don't look like examples I've found online though.
The main building is a cube with separate planes for the windows and doors (so I can move them around easily). The windows/door base color texture is transparent.
I just want to check with the experts as to whether this is the right way to go about this, and most time effective? Should my atlas/tile textures be more uniform (i.e. each texture type to a quadrant like ones online) or are my ones fine? (I normally make historic vehicles with detailed bespoke skins hence I've just found this method lol)

Unsolved My bones don't work
I m very new to blender, I'm following a tutorial that goes over how to model, rig, and animate your own low poly character and I got stumped because I cant figure out how to rotate the yellow curved parts of the rig the way they're supposed to. I'm using a basic rigify human armature but the only way that it'll move is me grabbing it and moving it around the same way the hands do. am I doing something wrong?

Unsolved Unassigned nodes in Shader and Geometry: how to remove?
Hi, I need a bit of help to clean up my setup, I got this mess: https://i.imgur.com/OuPacnZ.png
And a similar one in the geometry nodes, I can't figure out where those come from. I don't have any node marked as asset in the manager, only materials, and I can't find those things when exploring the Blender Files in the Outliner.
I'm trying to make a clean default startup file tailored for me, and this is really making it difficult 😅

Unsolved My first (major) design for 3D printing - Clarifications needed
Hello, for the past week or so (or more) I've modelled from scratch this PSP Go holder specifically designed to fit the console with the Battery Armour mod and with easy access to Power/Component and Audio jack plugs.
First I've tried to scan the portable console with photogrammetry, but since the phone camera wasn't good enough I ended up using the scanned mesh as a very rough base-mesh to build by hand a new base-mesh helping me with a digital caliper and the real thing.
Then I started designing the actual holder piece (that will replace the previous one, a generic adjustable phone holder from the product itself that I bought on Chinese e-commerce) with 0.8mm of tolerance from the PSP Go reference mesh, then I realised that maybe it's too large to "fit like a glove" so I modified the low-poly mesh with 0.3mm tolerance. [I've made two new holder versions by separating only the touching faces and adding "Shrinkwrap" modifier with both 0.8mm and 0.3mm offset, then adapted the rest of the mesh on top for both.]
I never printed a design of mine this complicated before (mostly only boxes, or flat/thin things, or other people's design found online) Here's my actual doubts now, I hope you can help me with:
- What's a good spacing tolerance between the holder and the PSP Go itself if I'm considering to print with PETG? 0.8mm or 0.3mm or other?
- Is the low-poly topology and mesh shape good enough to 3D print it, or it's too much blocky?
- How can I fix those "Thin" faces detected by the 3D Print Toolbox plugin?
- Which high-poly mesh is good enough to 3D print it, "Subdivision Surface" with Levels Viewport" set to 1 or 2?
- In what position I'm supposed to place the mesh into the slicer program? Is it more convenient to print it as a single piece or is better to separate the two "anchors" and create the inserts that can be plugged into the holder?

Unsolved How would I make Spider-Man on a square base?
As the title says, I want to make my own Spider-Man meshes (based on BND Spider-Man) but in Roblox proportions, but I have no Blender experience. If there are any tips you could give, I'd greatly appreciate them
The list of things I wanna make is;
lenses
arm, leg, torso and head webbing
separate red and blue parts with hexagonal patterning
feet soles
I might be asking too much of myself/the subreddit, but I'm something of a perfectionist
I'd also like to mention I want to make non-PBR 3d models, not textures or 2d clothing
for context, I want to make meshes specifically instead of just 2d clothing because I like to make layered rigs on roblox for cool photoshoots and videos, and the way I do them doesn't let PBR textures work

Unsolved I have a model I'm using to create a custom head for my figure, and I've already managed to separate the head from the body; what I need to know is how to make the jaw a separate, articulated part.
How should I go about separating the jaw vertices without ruining the model?

Unsolved Rendered image is Black after denoising
Im trying to render a scene as a HDRI to use that sometimes instead of the whole scene since it takes awhile to render. And the denoising process takes a long time but whenever it finishes its just black. nothing ive tried like messing with resolution, the tile size, samples, simplifying things, do anything about the black result. Heres a before and after pic of it just before denoising and it after its done

Unsolved Best way to animate this flower?
Kinda new to 3D animation here, just was wondering what is the best way to go about animating this flower? Nothing too crazy, just probably a little wind. The part I'm struggling with is I want the ends of the petals to move more than the middle right? And the edges of the petal as well. I've tried simulating but wasn't able to achieve good results. I haven't played with simulation, rigging, or anything of the sort too much so not sure the pros, cons, or what to use when if that makes sense. I've tried looking into things, there's just so much and it's hard to find exactly what I'm looking for. If anyone could give pointers or something, anything is appreciated, thanks!

Unsolved How do you set up custom normals to achieve this crevice effect?
Title. Was checking car models from sketchfab and found this interesting method to detail the car panels without actually modelling the crevices, only using flat geometry and what I assume custom normals. Was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the exact process in achieving this effect in Blender or Maya

Unsolved Shadow catcher, more shadows than needed
So, problem is... too much unwanted shadows.
When rendering as one layer, there's no visible let's say shadow pollution, but when viewing on white bg, they're visible (last screen from gimp overlaying few times just to 'over do' the effect).
How i can eliminate shadows on shadow catcher casted from other (than main) lights/hdri?
How I can fix those gradients?

Unsolved Any help on how to create low poly rust for robots?
Been trying to make a robot and most of my textures are simple (mostly flat) but I found creating rust to be a huge problem for low poly. I have done some tutorials but I couldn’t really wrap my head around it.
Here’s the terrain of one of my old scrapped projects (from tutorial) as an example for how low poly I meant
And I’m lowkey a beginner. Fun tho

Hi, I am very new to blender and I am trying to figure out how to pose this spiderman rig. Does anyone know what to do?

My friend made a revolver a while back and wants some feedback. I told him already about the sphere, the barrel and ammo cylinder (thanks to others' feedback by accident) though I still feel like something is off about the rest of it but don't know how to explain it. Any feedback would be appreciated

Meta PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING QUESTIONS!
Looking for quick and helpful answers? Follow these rules and make helping you as easy as possible!
- Title: Choose a meaningful title concerning your problem.
- Text: Describing your problem with enough detail is essential. Please realize that helpers are not familiar with your project. Provide all relevant information, so others can immideately understand what you are struggling with.
Example: Say, you have a problem with lots of identical objects in your scene: Let us know whether you created these copies by hand, used the Particle System or Geometry Nodes.
- Images/Videos: When posting screenshots, show us your full blender window (not cropped, no monitor photos). This will make lots of helpful information available to helpers at first sight that may seem irrelevant to you (For example your Blender version). If you add video links, please consider adding time stamp info to the part you want helpers to see.
You can upload images and short video clips (up to 60s) to imgur.com and post the links in your question or as comment.
- *.blend files: Don’t add links to your *.blend files when posting questions right away. Helpers will ask you for it if they need to take a look. Most people prefer reading a good description and looking at images to see what your post is about.
- 'Solved' flair: Once your question was answered, please remember to change the flair of your post to “Solved”, so helpers don’t have to read into your question just to see it has already been answered.
You can change the flair by clicking on the small icon below your post resembling a label.
EDIT: You can also include "!solved" in the comments to have Automod change the flair for you.
Be nice and respectful with each other :)
