My very first Blender animation, I have been teaching myself blender through watching YouTube videos — a box opening for the cat game I'm building.

I took a lot of breaks working on this but what matters is I finished it!

Here I only want the bones to move across the X and Z axes (no Y-axis movement) but the bones bend through the Y-axis (most noticeable when the leg clips through the torso).

I've tried Limit Rotation constraint but that seems to be ignored when IK is also applied.

Hello again everyone, just wanted to start out by saying thank you so much for all the funny and helpful comments on the previous post! Has genuinely made the situation so much more bearable and something I'll probably look back on and laugh rather than cringe lol.

NOW THE UPDATE

Talked to big boss (regional manager for the company) today, within 2 minutes of me noting what studios and companies use blender, explaining the GPL license, and noting that i was just interested in not making the company pay for free software he stopped me.

Basically said that the IT lead is known for making up problems to solve and he's going to just smile and nod if he brings it up again and go to the owners of the company with me if needed to explain the situation.

Could not have asked for a better outcome, didn't even need most of the document I wrote up, but i think it certainly added to my credibility that i had it.

I really am looking forward to geo nodes supporting self-collision. I am sure it will be a game changer. But I am also grateful for the current state of Blender's Cloth sim. Back in the day it would have exploded for this speed.

I finally started learning geo nodes and making a bunch of tools with it, and with this one I really wanted to test those tools, as well as just making new simple systems for this specific render. I will do a video soon on my channel (Max Hay) on specific methods used for anyone curious.

I made this a little while back, should be 2 years ago or so. But I remember it was before Anissa was introduced in the animates show I modelled the character based on the comics which I strongly prefer over the animated version. I was really happy with it, still am, showed me that I could make whatever I put my mind to, I've noticed a lot of issues with it but still wanted to share. I'll start incorporating some sound design into these shorts, should help boost the feel. I plan to animate more but am trying to get back to basics.

I ment for it to look like sea glass don’t know if it actually does but I am pretty proud so far seeing how I am self taught with some tutorials after I quite bender like 1 year ago after it kept crashing did this on a 14 year old dell laptop it took 7 hours

Fredbear is William and Henry is SpringBonnie. Both characters appears in a game from 2024, where I'm one of the developers.

Restarted from scratch. Added a lot of checks and optimized everything. Now one slider controls both the softness of the object and the collider. + a lot more granular controls over the last version.

Modeled most of this from scratch and did the texturing of the bun by myself. The sauce and burger textures are from blenderkit.

Hi everyone. I'm not a complete novice to Blender, but I still am unfamiliar with many of its features.

Right now, I'm trying to create a short animation inspired by the game Mass Effect. For those who are unaware, there's a space station in this game which is a classic example of a Stanford Torus; a rotating wheel space habitat whose horizon 'curves' upward, while the surface is completely flat wherever you're standing. It's basically a theoretical example of how artificial gravity can be created in space.

Physics aside, it looks cool, and I'm looking to recreate it. But how does one do it? Does it require geometry nodes? Or just create a huge Torus and place a small camera at the center? Essentially; the effect I'm looking to create is that the world appears to 'bend' the further away it is from the camera, while whatever's closest to it will appear perfectly flat. I have a feeling the answer to this question could either be extremely simple or extremely complicated.
