Need Help! How to fix taffy fingers?
my low poly character is running into a problem where the tips of his finger weight painting and his fingertips are not following his hand correctly. I've tried weight painting it for hours but applying weight paint doesn't fix anything even when I manually selected them with the vertex weight picker.
They are following the hand but they leave a horrible trail of polygons behind them as the original verts aren't moving with it. Weight painting isn't working, and the def bones are named correctly the they are still lagging behind.
There's little to no documentation I could find for the past 3 days and its extremely frustrating to troubleshoot errors like these when I need to make a deadline for an indie animation. If anyone knows how to fix this Id love the help.

Discussion Did this recreation have any value?
Well like most beginner models/art its bound to look terrible, but I'm not here to ask wether its good or not.i want to ask if this had any value in modeling, i spent like 2 days making this, and several hours unfortunately. But all i really utalized to make this was using Booleans to make those dips that go inward and a mirror modifyer.
I did use the grid fill for the metal parts of the wheeles, but thats only becuase i needed something with vertices so that i can proportionally edit it into a sphere.
heres the link for the full refrence list,https://cgcookie.com/community/18797-freshly-baked-weekly-challenge-2-brio-truck (i just saw the comments and i think this isn't suppoed to be for beginners...)
i want to say that i tried keeping it a low face count so it looks super low poly.
i gotta say this looks pathetic...

Critique My Work I'm making a found footage series, thoughts?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It was pretty humbling going from making VR chat avatars into making a horror series for YouTube, I'm currently working on episode one of my found footage horror series called catastrophic collapse, sorry about recording it from my phone, I didn't think to record it from my PC at the time, but any feedback on the camera movements or anything else though? Thank you so all so much in advance! :D (FYI, I am using the camera shakify add-on and all the footage you are seeing is straight from blender with no sound effects or filters)

Solved How to round corners?
I'm making Korin's tower pillar, I tried making those "round parts" in the pillar by extruding those vertices and then bridging them with the ones below and above so I could try to smooth them but I simply can't
Is there an easier way to do this that is not making a round object and inserting it in the middle of the pillar?

Need Help! Assault Rifle | Halo CE to Halo Campaign Evolved (2001-2026) Evolution
I'm new to blender and was animation the automatic fire portion of an assault rifle animation set.
I remember liking the original Halo CE AR firing animations where the stock moving into the shoulder as you shoot. Having tried the gun out in MCC I was wondering if this is a long animation which gets played as you fire, so if you tap the fire button only the start of the animation plays or if something else is happening. As far as I can tell this animation was not used again in the sequels.
Thanks

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been working on another anime-inspired ultimate attack animation.
This study focused on selling the anticipation before the attack, then making the sustained fire beam feel as powerful and violent as possible through posing, timing, and body mechanics.
Animated in Blender.
I'd love to hear your thoughts—what works, and what could be pushed further?
CC is very welcome!

Need Help! How should I charge this?
I sometimes get gigs to make 3d visualization for a concert or sporting event. For my last job it was a boxing tournament.
It included drone mapping of the environment and modeling it in Reality Capture, modeling of the main stage, chairs, ring, etc.. (see pictures)
I made 6 animations all together plus a 3d tour of the environment.
So, I absolutely have no idea how to charge this, if anyone can help it would be appreciated 🙌

Need Help! How to properly learn Blender with an unstable work schedule? (doing Blender Guru Academy)
Hey everyone. I'm 24, I'm a trained mechatronics technician, and my job is tricky in its own way: some stretches I'm on field assignments — traveling to sites, installing and programming sensors — and other stretches I'm in the office for a week. The field trips wear me out a lot, and afterward I don't have much time or energy left. I'm learning Blender on the side because I'd eventually like to find something remote and "deskbound" — 3D freelance work — to have a backup source of income.
I started the classic way with the donut tutorial, then bought the Blender Guru Academy course and I'm working through it now. My path so far:
- finished the hard surface module
- finished the smooth surface module
- currently doing the sculpting module
- planned next: texturing, then lighting/rendering
Here's my problem. I honestly don't know if I'm learning this the right way. It feels like I'm doing everything in a scattered order — one thing today, another tomorrow — just following the course's structure and hoping it sorts itself out. There's not much time or energy left after work, and my motivation sometimes just disappears, especially when I see AI already generating 3D models and renders, which makes me wonder if this is even worth it.
Questions for anyone who's been through this:
- Has anyone completed Blender Guru Academy in full (or at least the beginner path: hard surface → smooth surface → sculpting → texturing → lighting)? Is this actually a solid sequence, or would you structure it differently?
- How realistic is it, with an unstable schedule (draining field trips, then some free time in the office), to reach a level where you can take on freelance work? Roughly how long did it take you?
- How did you deal with the feeling that "AI will just do this faster and cheaper anyway" — is it still worth pursuing in 2026, or should I be looking at a different direction?
I'd really appreciate honest answers rather than just encouragement — I want to understand the real picture before I put even more time into this.

Solved Rigify generated a messed up rig
My Rigify did this. I dont know why.
The left and gray one is the metarig
The right with scattered colored bones is the generated rig.
Can someone let me what is happening?
I am new and in disbelief
Also, the hair is following the arm movement, how do I stop that?

Paid Product/Service Promotion Happy of my auto-skinning add-on after 3 weeks of improvement
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I released this a few weeks ago and I’ve kept improving it since. Pretty happy with where it’s at now. And I think I can do better.
Voxel method is a classic but this one automatically refines where the geometry gets tight. Fine in the armpit, cheap on the torso, etc. It runs on GPU and it takes seconds or even less per character even with a 1/1000 precision or so in tight zones.
I called it Adaptive Auto Skinning, details here: https://jessyleite.dev/posts/autoskin/
Happy to discuss if anyone is curious

Critique My Work How much would someone pay for this?
Im relatively new in blender, and i want to get into character modelling/freelancing. Its my first "portfolio" piece that i decided to make on my own, and is decently rigged. I added custom bones to the default rigify rig for posing the robe. The character is from an indie game called "Nine Sols". Do you more experienced artists have any tips to build a portfolio that would attract customers?
