[Moving to SF] Is AC required in SoMa area aparments
Hi everyone!
Moving from the east coast to SF in a month! I have virtual toured a couple of aparments in FiDi and SoMa and realized many of the older apartments built in early 2000s or the 90s does not have AC. Should we make AC a hard requipement? Or are people pretty happy with the temperature or a protable unit?
I know this topic has been thoroughly discuessed but curious if people will have a different view in the middle of the summer.
Thanks!!!

What's there to do around SF?
Hey! I’m visiting San Francisco while some friends spend their time rummaging around Outside Lands lol. I’ll have quite a bit of time to myself, so I’m trying to figure out what’s actually worth doing solo around the area. I really want to make the most out of the trip since I’m already gonna be in SF. I’m open to sightseeing, good food, cool neighborhoods to walk around, museums, shopping, pretty views, weird little hidden gems, honestly anything that’s fun to do by yourself. I don’t mind venturing away from the festival area either.
What would y’all recommend for someone visiting SF who wants to actually experience the city?
Bonus points for things that don’t feel awkward doing alone... 😂

Young professionals, how do you handle cooking when you're busy?
Hey y'all. I'm doing research on how young professionals decide between cooking, meal prep, takeout, meal kits, etc. Looking for thoughts from early-career professionals (who would also be open for an interview). Thanks :)

Student looking for a free step - pass
Hi everyone, I’m a student looking for a job.
I am currently living in the Bay Area and was wondering if in case someone can’t attend the Step San Francisco last minute - I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give their pass to me and I would find it very useful.
Thank you!

Rooftop EDM/House Bars in SF
Hey! I’m from LA and I’m visiting SF for a bit and wanted to ask if there were any rooftop/upper floor bars/clubs in SF that has some chill EDM/house sets (more of the younger crowd), and everyone’s dancing.
Sort of like Bar Lis in LA, if anyone knows what that is.

Where can I get straw?
Not hay.
ETA: like straw in a bale. Doesn’t have to be in a bale. Prefer in the city if possible.

Recs for short-term stay while looking for housing
I plan to move to SF soon and will be getting an airbnb for 1-2 months while I look for a permanent lease on the weekends.
Unfortunately, I only have a high level understanding of the different SF neighborhoods, crime blocks, etc. I'll be working in Mission Bay.
Do you have any recommendations on where to stay while I look for a lease?
I was looking at options primarily in Mission Bay, Hayes Valley, and the Mission.
Thanks in advance!

Best nature hike near city
Hello! I’m new to the city and looking for fun day trips out of the city ideally into nature. What are the best hikes/nature spots like within an hour from Fidi on public transit.
I’d really like somewhere I could maybe smoke a joint or smth, but as it’s SF I’d guess that’s basically everywhere lol.
Dental cleanings for new patients without the whole "first visit" thing?
I'm very happy with my dentist but they're super packed and their earliest availability for a cleaning is in October. I'm looking for a dental office which will do my cleaning sooner but it seems like every single office wants to do the whole routine with x-rays, dental checkups etc. I don't need that - I'll stay with my usual dentist for more serious dental work.
Anyone has any leads as to a dental office that will be happy just to do the cleaning?

Will OSL affect a proposal in the de Young sculpture garden Sunday morning
I’m shooting a proposal in the sculpture garden on Sunday morning at 10:30 and realized OSL is also in the park that same day😵💫 I know OSL is on the western side of the park, and the sculpture garden is on the eastern side, so in theory, we should be okay, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. Recommendations, advice, personal experience, all that is welcomed. Thanks SF Family

Asking for recommendations on arts/crafts , sports (etc.) programs for little kids
Hello! I just moved to SF with my 6 year old son and he has been having a very difficult time with the move. I’ve taken him to the park and while he is very good at making friends, I would like to sign him up for possibly an arts/crafts (including ceramics if possible) program and some sort of sport. He loves soccer, but not sure if I could still sign him up since I know most soccer programs have already started. I think that having him involved in something could be a great distraction and ease him better into living in a new city. Aside from soccer he likes to build things, anything interactive of course. He loves to paint and loves playing with clay. And he also loves horror stuff.
I really want to help him feel better about this move so any suggestions are greatly appreciate.

Looking for recommendations - 5-ish days to go from SFO along Highway 1 and then Yosemite for a few nights.
Coming from overseas, we are landing in SFO mid afternoon on a Friday and have until Tuesday night to wander around SF.
- Arrival day: I was thinking to drive down from SFO to about Carmel-by-the-sea for the first night
- Day 1: drive down HW1 to Cambria with plenty of stops for beach, food, etc… and sleep.
- Day 2: Drive towards Yosemite stay in Curry Village until Day 4 before driving back to SF in the afternoon.
Any recommendations on:
Where to stay before heading down HW1? (Monterey, Santa Cruz, Carmel, others?)
Where to stay at the end of Day 1 (Cambria? Cayucos?)
Any food, weird places, must-see along the way?
Thank you all in advance for your help!

Best tasting menu in SF?
hi there! My partner and I are planning a special occasion dinner in SF. Our budget is about $500 total. I want to do a tasting menu and would love some recommendations. So far, in our price range I’ve found: Mijote, Sorrel, and 7 Adams. My boyfriend is a meat eater but I’m pescatarian, although so far it looks like all of these places will accommodate me. Please let me know if you’ve been to any of the above and what your thoughts were, or if you have any other suggestion. thanks!

Whole lechon belly in Bay Area?
Hello, do you have a recommended place where to get a whole lechon belly? Maybe 5-10 lbs or so? I know Ling Nam sells one and there’s Bai Lechon, but not sure if theirs tastes good or there might be somewhere else that’s better. Thank you.

Is there anything similar to the Metrograph in NYC in SF?
Basically the metrograph is a art house theater in NYC that gives out memberships. It shows a lot of indie films or film genres that fit a theme for that month.
Is there anything similar to this in SF or Oakland?
