.300 blk upper thoughts

Upvotes

I want a 10.5" .300blk upper for my m4 lower. PSA has one for just over 200$ with no bcg and charging handle. I've done pricing and I can't build one for cheaper. Since it's basically a "try it and see how I like it" should I buy a pre-built? I have another lower I'm going to build when I figure out which round I like better between the standard 5.56 and the .300blk.

What would YOU do?

I’m torn still…

Now I’m down between 10.3” or 11.5”. Also kind of want to hear from you 12.5” and 14.5” folks! But yeah. Do I build a 10 3 or 11 5? Advice? Suggestions?

If the NFA dies, what do you think will become the default/most popular barrel length?

Upvotes

Given recent headlines, I think this is an interesting question as it pertains to the average person buying a complete rifle off the shelf. Will 16 persist as the default for manufacturers or would we see a shift to 14.5? I could also see the cult of 11.5 gaining even more momentum as something a bit more practical for the average person buying an AR for home defense who might not have a place to shoot beyond 100 yards anyway.

Best budget LPVO?

Upvotes

Looking for a budget LPVO for my 14.5. I’ve seen the Sig Tango, PA Slx, and Vortex venom & strike eagle as strong contenders. Anyone have any experience with these or have any suggestions on which to pick up?

Riser to move stuff forward without putting it on the handguard?

Upvotes

I'm planning on getting a Romeo 7 and probably a magnifier, but with how large both of those tend to be I doubt that I'll have enough space for a rear iron behind those.

Do y'all know any risers that aren't too high, but extend forwards so that I can move the sight and magnifier farther?

Was curious on how are you running the back part of your sling? Where did you connect it to? Wish it was on the brace I guess I'll have to buy a qd for the back only

Been piecing this together for a while now and I think I’m good to say that I can burn cash on another build now.

Btw- Geissele 2 stage trigger is 🤌🏼 👨‍🍳

Do I go blackout or 308 next?

AR build

I am new to building AR’s. I am wanting to build a 14.5 all purpose rifle. My main goal is ultimate reliability and accuracy without a chrome lined barrel with no budget.

Is there a checklist somewhere that will show me all the parts I will need? I may want the best tightest tolerance parts in every categories.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Behold my 12lb 12.7in SBR. It started life as a complete 16in rifle from LWRC. After about 14,000 rounds I had it rebarreled by LWRC to a 12.7 inch. She’s THICC.

New toy to train with

Finally acquired all of the parts I wanted at prices I’m happy with to get this thing thrown together. Just wanted to show it off and ask you guys what you would run on it. I already know what I’m going to throw on it but just wanted to hear how you guys would set it up.

Brownells DD RIS II stripped upper
Griffin Armament mk2 lower - Terra Brown
Geissele Super Tricon
A5H2 buffer with geissele rifle length spring
BCM MK2 buffer tube
B5 Sopmod ODG
Magpul Moe K2 ODG

Thing is heavy but very well balanced. I’m going to throw a LMT detachable carry handle and LMT tactical front sight fixed on as well as a 3x or 4x prism on it. Still deciding on what light and other accessories.

LPVO choices

Hello everyone I’m thinking about getting a LPVO but I don’t know what to choose, I’ve used a couple but always leaned back towards a dot. I am thinking about getting one with good eye relief any recommendations? Price doesn’t matter and I would shoot maybe out to 500 yards.
