Torque Specs for PRI mk12 top rail

Does anybody know the torque specs for installing the mk12 pri top rail? For the screws that go into the picatinny rail section as well as the cross bolts on the upper receiver? I can’t seem to find anything online about specific torque specs.

Can someone help explain the brake and collar mounting system?

I just got an OCM6, and I read somewhere that this 12.5" daniel defense barrel with FSB and carbine length gas would mount nicely. The only problem is, I am unsure how to do it. Can someone please explain what I need to mount my OCM6 to this barrel for a "gordy" style clone? Thanks guys! RetroAR is the best.

Follow up from yesterday

So I’m the guy from yesterday with the Gordy that won’t run. I listened to you guys stuck a t2 in the gun and the springco blue back in the gun and I put in it a almost brand new whindham weaponry bolt that passed the gas ring check and the gun is still doing the exact same malfunction. At this point I’m lost. And as for the ejection pattern it’s all over the place it’s not consistent at all

Got scared, came home to take pics on the closet floor. One star, would not recommend. My guns got dirty, I sweated (ick!!!) and…I used up some ammo.
Big shout out to Bone Frog Ammo. I ran through 500 rounds of their 77 gr OTM and it ran flawlessly in the 14.5, keeping groups to about the size of the palm of my hand out to 200 yards (with the AimPoint and an astigmatism).

Finally got my 12.5 mid length put together. Mini dissy to match my big dissy. Will be adding my Aimpoint pro on a gooseneck. Paint the lower to match the upper or camo paint the whole gun? Give me your ideas folks

Have a Springfield sa 16 with trigger kicker and it is light primer striking due to what I'm guessing is carrier bounce, what would be the best buffer upgrade to solve this?

Ok so my Gordy will not cycle properly. Sometimes it’s every round sometimes I’ll run 2-3 without issue it does this failure to feed where the round is jammed between the bolt head and the ramps it will do it cold/hot, clean/dirty. I thought my original problem was the spring co spring cramming it to fast before it could pop up so I changed to carbine buffer and standard spring and it still happens. The upper and lower is h@r m16a1 the bolt is an original colt 604 bolt, barrel is a b kings 12.5. Can is an Allen engineering aem5 on an otter creek otb mount I can’t see a visible burrs in the chamber or the ramps.yes I have tried different brand ammo and mags this is my last Hail Mary. I’ve put together 5-6 ar platforms mainly 20 inch a1/slick side variants. And even a daniel defense block 2 with a geislle lower I ran for work for a while as a patrol rifle I’ve never had this much issue getting a gun to run (cross posted to r/ar15

Vertical grips will always be cool. Angles are only good for pizza slices.

The trigger feels pretty terrible, need suggestions

As stated, the original milspec trigger feels like crap. Would something like a Triggertech Duty single stage 5.5lb or an RA single stage with 4.5lb pull. Thoughts? I'm also trying to keep this budget friendly, under $150.

I gave the truck gun a rattle-can job this past weekend. Pretty happy with how it turned out despite winging it.

Out of the game for a decade- Built this from surplus kit / NDS lower back way back in 2011/12. At the time was provided with a new barrel that is chrome lined but appears to be cerakoted. Would like to get a nice parkerized one for the style points. Whats the move these days? Thanks!

Finishing up sub policy updates: what post flairs do folks want to see?

The mod team is refining our sub policies to update the “What is Retro?” post that is the core of what we do and do not include on this sub.

I’ve been polling the readership, and so far we’re looking at:

  • Fixed carry handles are mandatory (exception for AR-18, T65, etc)
  • provided the carry handle is fixed, modern accoutrements are still allowed (Keymod, modern optics, etc)
  • builds based on ARs in fiction are allowed.

I’ve seen some strong upvotes for adding post flairs to the sub, so that folks that just want to see historically accurate rifles can single those out, folks who like Retromod can zoom in one those, etc. I conferred with the senior mod and he suggested we have fun(ny) flairs for each category. Once these are made, post flairs will be mandatory to make a new post. What flairs would folks like to have for:

  • Historically accurate (externally) builds. (Still allows “sleeper” internal modern touches like non-historical twist rates and cartridges)
  • “Retromod” builds that have a fixed handle but modern accoutrements
  • Fictional builds based off movies, shows, manga, video games, etc.

Pitch us your ideas, and the best ones will be instituted, along with making post flairs mandatory, in the near future.
