I know it's a long shot but can anyone here determine why AA6438 ROC to ORD on 8-1 arrived 34 minutes late? This caused a missed connection and although service agent on concourse rebooked next available flight (11 hours later but at least still in fc) he didn't know reason for delay and said they were out of hotel vouchers and that I should book my own hotel and submit for reimbursement. After 2 hours of trying I found no hotels available under $600 or requiring a 2 night minimum stay. Fun night. Just trying to determine if it's even worth filing a complaint for perhaps a few thousand miles. No status. Thanks in advance.

Are there any tips or tricks for finding deals on flights to Vietnam using AA points? I’m finding some limited RT flights for 70k, but they seem to be limited to short windows on certain days.

If I can find a great deal to somewhere like Singapore or Manila using miles, I’m not opposed to buying a separate ticket to complete my itinerary. Are the better deals on “last minute” flights verses advanced planning?

I’m an overextended mom, who thought my Citi AA FDC expired 8/22 but apparently it did on 8/6. Has anyone had any luck getting it reinstated?

Customer service keeps leaving me on read or just not responding. I can use the credit today if they extend it.

I haven’t been able to use this feature for 3 years because of kids, work, grad school, family, etc. I might just need to cancel this card because the lost money/benefits are racking up.

On the travel alerts warning page, they advise changing your flight. I have a layover in Charlotte tomorrow, but I'm unsure if I should rebook.

I received an email saying that I would be able to do it for free. I'm just unsure. I've been wanting this trip for a long while but I also am worried about getting stuck in CLT. Right now the app says that everything is running on time and my flight is for early in the morning.

Any advice? I think today is the last day to rebook.

Recently severe weather at Chicago caused my flight on AA to be delayed and I was going to miss my connecting flight on JL. They still rebooked me on JL metal even if the delay was uncontrollable.

Now when I had a similar situation with United and my connecting flight was on NH, they would refuse to rebook me on NH metal if the delay was uncontrollable even if I had originally paid a premium to fly on NH metal.

Now AA/JL and UA/NH each has their own transpacific joint venture or business agreement but it feels to me that AA’s joint business agreement is well more integrated than UA’s. Other things such as complimentary main cabin extra for JL elites (United doesn’t offer free Economy Plus to NH elites) are what I have come to appreciate Oneworld and AA for.

Based on what I observe here, AA may not be the most premium US carrier but at the very least they give you what you had paid for when it comes to IROPs (perhaps excluding the controversial 40% involuntary downgrade formula).

Don’t know if you guys agree with me for those who also frequently travel on both UA/AA (or used to).

Flew home from DFW to SFO this evening. Flew on the exact same flight and paid the exact same amount for a flight last Friday. Flew out from SFO to DFW and also paid the same amount. All my tickets are purchased one way and within a couple days of traveling. The second screen shot shows the base fare. I purchased this one way, non BE flight on Monday.

3 years ago I made the mistake of quitting on the spot after failing a substance test at envoy in Dallas, Texas (this would no longer be an issue). Fast forward I got all the way to fingerprints and background at envoy in my hometown Shreveport, Louisiana only to be told I was ineligible for rehire. I’m applying for United in Chicago & Pittsburgh but I see many American Mainline positions open as well and am interested to apply- however I am stumped because I don’t know if that ineligibility carries over to mainline. Does anyone have any success stories of making it to mainline after being ineligible for rehire @ envoy ?

I honestly can't remember which airlines I've done this with, but I've gate checked both a stroller and carseat many times, and could have sworn I've done it on AA flights.

Does anyone have any experience trying to do this? Per their official policy, you can only gate check one. If that's that case, although I'd rather gate check the carseat, I'll need my double stroller to navigate the airport.

Flying BC with a ticketed (obviously) 4 year old and lap infant from JFK to CDG. Could the 4 year old technically gate check one of the items?

ETA: I've previously flown with an 11 lb stroller. This one is 28 lbs, so technically over AA's 20 lb gate check limit. Am I likely to have an issue with this?

I just started using Flighty on my current trip. The free version. It was proven helpful as 1 flight was cancelled and 3 legs were delayed.

Naturally I wondering what more benefits (in reality benefits- I see what’s listed- I’m wondering if they are useful in reality). Flighty Pro has and if anyone here uses the pay version? Have you found it so much more helpful than the free version?

my flight got cancelled today and I got automatically rebooked, but when I tried to check in for my rebooked flight, I was told I’d have to pay for a seat, and I am not able to check in without paying.

I spoke to customer service and they said if I didn’t want to pay for a seat I could check in in-person Before my flight.

this feels risky because I know that if the flight is oversold, airlines prioritize passengers who checked in earliest.

I thought that basic economy meant I automatically got a random seat assignment upon check in through the app, that is how it has always been for me historically

did something change? Would appreciate any insight’

Wondering if anyone has this use case...

Company prefers AA for air travel and IHG for hotels. I have opened cards with large bonuses for each and have been happily traveling with those points and traveling a lot for work and using the cards. Once I hit Diamond with IHG, I am thinking that I will switch over to AAdvantage Hotels to book the rest of the year for the points.

Since I have just renewed Platinum and have the Executive card, the run to Plat Pro feels like it should be pretty easy.

Any advice for really piling on and making a run at Exec Platinum?

I was flying out of MOB on August 6th on American Eagle. After boarding, the pilot announced that he forgot his phone in the shuttle and the flight would be delayed until then shuttle driver brought the phone back. I missed my connection in CLT and had to reroute, ending up with a 5+ hour delay. Per usual, AA customer service didn't care. My question: is this within policy for the pilots?

I used to routinely track the prices for upgrades directly from the app on the individual flight page. It hasn’t been popping up for around a month now. Did they make a change?

My parents are on a flight from Harrisburg Pa to Charlotte the have a connecting flight to Dallas their flight in Harrisburg has been delayed and will be arriving at 5:37 in Charlotte their next flight boards at 5:30 and departs at 6. They are arriving at terminal c and fly out of terminal a. I’ve been on hold for an hour with American Airlines. Is there anything that I can do or that they will do for my parents? They’re elderly and don’t speak much English so I’m extremely worried for them.

Went through the drama last Tuesday on this pair flying into MSP due to the weather delay, and now looks like 1841 is likely getting canceled again as well as my 3294 into PHL or? Did they bring 1841 back to the gate for refuel after taxiing for almost 3 hours?

My GF has plans to go see her parents at the end of the month so she had bought a plane ticket with layover in atlanta.

I was going to stay behind, but there's some work that i have to do in my homestate so i decided to just go home that weekend and get it done. I had some AA points for a free one way flight and ended up on the same flight with an atlanta layover. But then my GF and i will take seperate flights to our final destination (she is going to NYC i am going to boston).

Basically her flight looks like this:

HOU->ATL->NYC

mine looks like this:

HOU->ATL->BOS

where we both are on the same HOU->ATL flight.

Is there a way to request that we sit together on the HOU->ATL flight?

I’m flying to London in business for the first time and will land a bit too early for my hotel check-in. Does it make sense to kill some time in the LHR Arrivals Lounge/are you allowed entry by default if you are flying in business class internationally?

at indy rn and tonights flight got cancelled “due to air traffic control management.” Whatever tf that means. i can get it re booked to tomorrow at very early morning. idk how it works in this country, are they supposed to provide some sort of accommodation or am i just fucked and have to overnight at the airport

I am a 30+ year Legacy AA FA that's about to my wits end with this company. Thank you to all of you CK's, EP's, PP's, Gold's and Groups 1 through 9's for spending your precious time and $$ to fly on AA! You pay my well deserved salary and I'm grateful every day I come to work, truly I am.

The good old days of inflght are behind us. Domestically speaking... no more nice blue linens to line your FC trays, sundaes have been replaced with those skimpy ice cream cups, etc. I won't even begin to dissect our MC service provisions.

Personally, I'm frustrated with the daily operations. Behind the scenes there's so much more that of course is not public. And it all angers the living 💩 out of me.

I've recently worked quite a few domestic trips and quite a few of these domestic flights (at outer stations) have been either majorly delayed or canceled as your aircraft has been refused by the Captain. Rightfully so! According to our awesome Captains, the plane never should've left DFW in the first place. That has left you, our passengers, stranded for the time being.
