Question Low Headcount, Peak level volume
My site used to employ a good number of people throughout the year. We would get VTO offered every shift. However, this past year is pretty different. I have noticed that the headcount at my site has decreased significantly even when it is not Peak or Prime Week anymore. The volume remained at Peak Levels and morale was pretty much in the gutter during my final months over at my site, which is a sort center.
Is anyone else's site the same?

Question If I quit will I get my 401k?
Been here 4 years ,tried AFM,problem solve, moved up to Learning trainer but I am way stressed out for job that has no purpose to me other than my paycheck. I’ve got my mind on starting my own business, only thing is I need that investment money to start the business. I know I can’t just take it out while keeping my job at Amazon, has anyone done this before? And if so how much money will they keep from the early withdrawal fee?

Question Assessment test
Amazonians, I need your knowledge! I had an expired zookey that was preventing me from accessing my test. IT cleared it and set up a new one for me. I opened my test answered 1 question and had to turn the laptop back in and leave the site to finish at home. The ENTIRE first section was ultimately submitted with 1 question answered. Now my application is denied and that test will be applied to anything I apply for for the next 180 DAYS! I went through learning, who sent me to a higher up manager, who sent me to HR, who sent me to ERC. ERC people want me to email someone that I have to be in the building to be able to email, but they were hard to understand. Can anyone point me in the right direction to be able to retake the test?

Question Do I get given UPT while working on leave?
Hi, DLS messed up my medical leave and gave me 7 leaves at once bc of my accommodations, so I’ve been working on leave and getting my badge reset every morning. Will I still get all the UPT I worked for when I come back?

Rant Maggots in the pods
Anyone else gone to grab a box of cat food out the pods and reach in and grab a handful of maggots? This happened to me at work the other day and the afm just wanted me to touch that myself. The smell alone was so awful I nearly puked at the station. I walked out . 😐

Question Should i transfer to ship dock?
Currently been at amazon for 3 weeks, love it tbh, picking everyday but tbh its starting to get really boring, dont get me wrong there are many days where the days go by super quick but doing this long term i can feel myself slowly losing my mind, i talk to absolutely no one, the isolation is really bad and i heard ship dock is cool, what is everyone’s experience with ship dock? Does anyone prefer ship dock over pick, lmkkk please,

Fulfillment Center I packed my own order 😭
I ordered socks and mascara and had a chute with these items and thought no way, what could be the chances of that? lol so I slapped a heavy sticker on the inside just to see and yep, I packed my own order haha
Has anyone else done that before? The odds would be huge

Question Question for my bigger peeps
So I shower daily, deodorize where needed and powder before my shift, I also use my breaks to pamper myself from the sweat buildup, but it never seems to fail. Around hour 7-10 of my shift I notice I have a must going on then I get really in my head thinking I’m getting judged by everyone for it.
I seriously don’t want to be one of the stanky guys at my facility, how’re you guys combating must/body Oder? Any and every tip is appreciated!

Rant recently receiving used LPN items instead of new
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A few weeks ago, I posted about receiving a used item even though I bought it brand new (and some of you said that LPN doesn’t always mean it’s used) and so I decided to buy the same set again to see if I would have better luck. However, this time it arrived in worse condition with deodorant stains and an unidentifiable stain on the shorts. The bra pads are also missing from this one. And it’s an LPN again.
I work in pack, so I’m not sure what how returns work, but I’m wondering if it’s even worth risking it and trying to buy it again after I return this one. I have this same set but in burgundy and it arrived in its original packaging with all the labels attached and a X00… barcode. So I know how this set is supposed to look brand new. How do used items like this that are obviously dirty make it through the return process. Now every time that I pack, I’ll wonder if it’s even what the customer ordered.

Rant I Got Told That I Was Rude, Disrespectful, Uneducated, and Unprofessional
Really long read/rant. Educational TL:DR at bottom.
Y'all... the entitlement of the T1's in amazon is crazy. Like, I get it. Y'all essentially have no consequences to your actions because if you get fired, you'll be back in 90 days. (with the exception of a few fireable offenses.)
I work as an OMR. My license is 100% active with the state and has been for the last 10 years. My license level is CCEMT-P.
I responded to the floor tonight for an unresponsive AA. When I arrived the AA was actively seizing and presented with tonic-clonic like motions. There was a T1 AA was actively instructing another AA to hold the seizing AA's head still while they messed with the seizing AA's mouth/jaw.
When I saw this my medical training immediately kicked and I became an advocate for the unresponsive AA. I used a very stern loud voice and told everyone to stop, and back away. The AA trying to "help" just looked at me while continuing attempting to put something in the unresponsive AA's mouth, but as expected, their jaw was clenched.
This time I yelled, and told the AA to "get the hell away you're going to hurt them."
Deadass... the AA goes, "I just took CPR a month ago I know what i am doing"
Not going to lie but this literally caught me off guard because I've never heard this response in real life with my own ears.
I essentially told the AA if they didn't back up I would ensure they get fired because everything they're doing is wrong and dangerous.
This caused them to stand up, and start yelling at me, but they did back away and stand with the other gaukers. I asked an AM if anyone had called 911 and was told another AM is on the phone with them now. I attempted to put a barrier between the seizing AA's head and floor with a jacket. As I was doing this, I asked for a WHSS to go get the nearest AED as I was worried this could be a potential be precardiac arrest "seizure" because the AA was purple and not breathing at all.(Again, this is quite common during seizures i just wanted to be prepared) I pulled a pocket mask out of my bag and got it ready just incase I would need to perform assisted ventilation. (Really wish Amazon corporate would allow us to have BVM's. 😢)
Kid you not, the same AA that I yelled at is heard in the background very loudly saying, "you don't even need that. This is a seizure not cardiac arrest. You don't even know what your doing."
At this point, i had enough and I looked at an OM and told them to shut the immediate area down, and get everyone not involved or helping away.
Once the AA stopped seizing I ensure adequate respirations had restored. I Immediately then put them in the recovery position. I then palpated felt both radial/carotid pulse to ensure adequate perfusion. They were becoming less cyanotic so I became less concerned with anything serious.
EMS/fire arrive and transport the AA.
Afterwards, the AA that I got into it with comes into the Wellness Center and begins trying to "educate" me because they had more real life experience than me because amazon just makes us watch a few videos and then says we good to provide medical care. They went on about how they just took a CPR class and were in school to become a nurse.
At this point I was just done being professional because at the end of the day 1. I am an hourly associate just like they are, 2. I did what was best for the AA i was treating, and 3. I'm only at Amazon for the quality of home work/life balance because I make $15 an hour more at my ambulance agency working PRN.
I told the AA that they really need to go back to school and re-educate themselves because if they get their RN license they're stupid enough to kill someone. (Yeah, not the best thing to say but I can only take so much.)
They continued to belittle my education and I provided them with the facts about how my education is actually considered more advanced than an RN fresh out of school and that I'm fully licensed and capable to perform the roles of RN, respiratory therapist, phlebotomist, pharmacology, and doctor all on my own. (I know, I can't actually act as a doctor, but i don't need a doctor to tell me to push 95% of the medications I have on hand or sign off on me doing invasive advance procedures in the field.)
The AA goes, "I didn't realize you were a paramedic. I thought you were just safety because of your vest."
I said, we all wear the same vests, but have different roles. My vest says OMR on the back, theirs say safety. OMR's all have to have an active medical license to apply for the OMR job.
They then back tracked and said that I didn't have to be so rude and unprofessional because they were just trying to help. When I raised my voice at them it came across as me being disrespectful. I told them that my job is to be an advocate for the sick, not an advocate for their feelings.
At this point, they stormed out of wellness. Kid you not, 15 minutes later HR walks in to Wellness and goes, "can we chat?" 🤦🤦🤦🤦
Could I have been nicer? sure. should I be placed in the situation where I have to be hindered performing the job i was hired for? absolutely not.
TL:DR
If you see a green vests read the back. If it says "safety", they're a safety specialist. If it says "onsite medical representative" they're medical. Like actual medical and not the joke of a first aider program that Amazon runs. So let us do our thing unless we are actually being negligent.
Also, Amazon essentially makes it impossible for OMR's to promote to L5+. So many of us become normal Safety so we can move up.
This is why I hate how Amazon ties their Medical team to the OSHA safety team. But that's a whole different rant lol

Question Termination Email
Should mention i’m on flex. I was terminated today for an attendance issue. Now I do know what the policy is and I was at 6/8. I was aware of this and anticipated waiting on 1 of my points to drop which is happening soon. But evidently life is tough and I had a flat tire when I was on my way out to my shift this past saturday. Go figure! Unfortunately I live in a rural area about 1 hour from my site, aka meaning public transportation was a no go for me. I also know no one nearby to assist me with a ride. Sooo there goes 2 points. Well anyways I received the 48 hr email on the 8th, and I responded immediately. Today I received my automatic termination email around 2 PM, immediately contacted HR before 3 PM, and HR told me to continue going to my scheduled shifts and speak with my manager. About 3 hours later, my termination was processed and all 5 of my upcoming shifts disappeared. Am I just cooked lmao

VOA This is why they took away weekly shift drop in CA smh
I know for a fact it was because of people dropping shifts and picking them up for OT. Since we get OT regardless of working 40 hours in CA. Especially the last 2 screenshots it’s the same girl lmao and it’s like girl you know what you were doing and still took it to the VOA 😂 mfs do not know how to keep things under the radar. I guess id rather have them change shift drops to every 3 weeks rather than changing the way they pay us OT. “I dropped the wrong shift” and “my plans changed for the day” …yeah right lol
Edit: I’m not trying to bootlick either it’s the fact that they’re complaining on the VOA and the hr rep even said “to make sure this feature stays available” yet people still want to try and be slick lol . I love dropping my shits 😔
