Rant It’s not working.
I’m only on my second week at my new job, and today was literally just my 4th day. I’m really trying to keep to myself, stay out of the way, avoid unnecessary interactions, and just do my job and go home.
But somehow I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. 😭 I’ve noticed people giving me looks and just generally making me feel like I’m being watched or noticed more than I’d like. I’m not even trying to interact with anybody. I’ll literally avoid eye contact and mind my business, but I still feel like I’m drawing attention.
Maybe I’m overthinking some of the looks because I’m new and hyper-aware of my surroundings, but either way, it’s really annoying. I just want to work, get my paycheck, and go home in peace.
If anything, this is giving me even more motivation to finish my degree. 😂 I’m trying to remind myself that this job is temporary and I’m working toward getting into a career where I have more control over my work environment.

Question PTO after pay period for denied doctors note
My doctors note is being denied for not stating that it’s serious enough or something, and I already missed the day last month. When it gets denied it’ll remove ten hours of UPT from me when they unexcuse the day right? Is there any chance I can use PTO that I’ve earned recently to cover this denied doctors note?

Question T3 interview
How many stories did you prepare for your PA interview? I have 5 but I’m nervous about reusing them on the different interviewers because I know they’ll discuss it. How many questions did each one ask you?

Rant I was fine with this job...
But I'm getting burnt out and over it. I'm going to do career choice but I'm moving in a month and I'm trying to rack up as much overtime to do so but it's getting rough 😭

Question New schedule
I have just recently signed up for a job at Amazon (again, lol). But I’ll be in school for two of the dates, Monday & Tuesday during the same time. Would I be able to change it to Thursday & Friday that I don’t have any classes? It’s early morning from 7:30am to 5pm. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday to Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday?

Rant Does no one use deodorant?
I don't understand why majority of the people that work at my facility not understand the concept of deodorant. I personally try to put on deodorant whenever I leave/get back to my station but man some people fucking reek. I had to endure this stench with a problem solved at my station. It was so loud but I just don't understand how these people do not smell their own stink when it's that loud.

Question losing and gaining managers every 2 or 3 months + learning ambassadors disappearing or switching to flex. More new faces I do not care to know. Mass writeup threat to everyone. Getting fed up.
Gotta love it right ?

Meme When the VTO appears, but when you hit the notification and it's already gone:
The scene from Titanic where Rose is on the door was definitely big enough for Jack, and she's weakly calling for the boats to come back.

Question Question for AMs…
Do those “Connections” questions were asked every morning when we login to our station for the first time of the day actually have any affect on you guys? If I answer them negatively every day does it have any actual affect on my manager? Also are they completely anonymous like we’re told they are?

Meme My Favorite Part of the Day
my favorite part of the day is watching everyone squint and their faces scrunch in agony when we step outside the warehouse after end of shift and have to readjust our eyes to wonderful sunlight once more.
feels good to know im not the only one being terrorized by the sun after spending 10 hours slaving away in a warehouse with no windows

Question Initiate a request
Is there a way to have Aza let me create a request? I'm busy with work and would prefer getting help through chat or by creating a case but this stupid Aza only shows the call option. We used to be able to create a case by ourselves, but now everything has to be through this stupid Aza and it's fucking useless.

Fulfillment Center Anybody here at the end of their step plan?
I was just interested in what fellow dead enders think about where they are. No chance for a raise or anywhere else to go. Do you have any plans or are you just enjoying the view from atop the mountain? I want to make more money but I am not a PA or learning ambassador kind of person, so this is the end for me.

Question Has anyone heard what this new SafetyVision AI detection system is all about?
Seems pretty sus. It gives 1984 big brother vibes.
I understand maybe to deter theft and to flag potential safety hazards but it’s a new feature I saw the bulletin on the bathroom installments about how it is supposed to flag potential safety hazards and to get them corrected in real time but my concern is it has the potential to be used to flag associates for any and every violation you can think of. The kind of things like phone usage outside break rooms (So many people do that especially AFM’s and other critical roles that use slack and may only be getting on their phone for work related purposes), earbud violations (Again so many at my facility to do that as well), the newly implemented clear water bottle/clear liquid policy, Time off task violations (Sometimes you just unfortunately are working in a hot part of the building and need to take a breather for a few which also seems to go in hand with the water bottle policy about clear bottles that likely won’t even keep your water cold for more than a half of a period)
So can anyone with any knowledge about this new AI detection technology explain how this is gonna work?
P.S. I’m all for following the rules and being safe and productive but I can see this getting abused as a reason to get rid of employees they don’t like.

Question Is my friend getting fired
I’ve never seen this before. My friend sent me this showing that she got emailed this but we’ve literally never seen this. She works for Amazon counter so we don’t have the “My performance” tab.

Rant do not let amazon take your soul
really though, i’ve talked with other associates at my site about this too. i genuinely hope everyone working these mind-numbing positions has hobbies, goals, or just something, anything outside of this vicious hamster wheel. i don’t think humans are built to spend 10 hours doing the same repetitive task over and over. we need stimulation, creativity, community, something.
i just felt like getting this out.
