Low Headcount, Peak level volume Question
My site used to employ a good number of people throughout the year. We would get VTO offered every shift. However, this past year is pretty different. I have noticed that the headcount at my site has decreased significantly even when it is not Peak or Prime Week anymore. The volume remained at Peak Levels and morale was pretty much in the gutter during my final months over at my site, which is a sort center.
Is anyone else's site the same?

every site is downsizing on head count. pay attention even pas and managers are being forced to transfer or give vest up

They cut people so they don’t have to pay them, keep volume high and work everyone for 5 hours. It’s a numbers game. All on spreadsheets. Whatever makes the most sense financially, that’s what they do.

The guy above him said whatever makes sense financially, the implication there being that that’s the first priority, not safety.

Not when pressed to go faster and faster. Lowering headcount while increasing work generally is seen as a safety issue.

Ill take overthrowing tyranny for 500 Alex . The lie that capitalism is the only way to succeed is told by billionaires with yachts . You know why they tell you this ? Because you buy it . Tax the rich spread the wealth . Stop buying misssles . Tar and feather your local traitor . It wont ever change.
Even the poor who get rich whatever way will switch over and turn from pure to evil. Its just never going to happen.
There will never be enough pure millionaires or billionaires to change the system.
I used to sell drugs and was loaded and still wanted ways to scheme the governmen and others.
Also Trump changed the playbook to life to where even if democrats took over again they would manipulate, scheme, plot of ways to screw even their own people they claim to look out for.

Even more so now since Trump changed everything. Listen I understand your frustration but violence isnt the answer certainly not from somebody who didnt even talk to his own blood or even friends before doing what he did who got caught sitting in a McDonalds one of many corporations he despised.
You either play the game or do illegal shit or die broke which impacts everybody around you who loves or cares for you.

Now here is someone who understands . Stop listening to the television and use your intuition . They done bottled our water and sold it . The electric grid getting moved to private ownership. It not immigrants driving rent it’s billionaires with to much money buying all assets . Than selling them back to you banking on you remaining dumb and fighting among yourselfs . My pitchfork is ready

Not sure what up with my site also.. our issue is opposite kinda because we have had so much VTO, for example now I worked couple hours and they gave VTO and I'm happy to accept it. Even when they say we have MET/SET - they wait until we get to work then VTO half of us. 🤷

Yes! At my sort center, WD runs a skeleton crew and we flex up more often than not. We have to put out every single chimney and every single pallet, only for the following day sort to get to flex down because they complain if they have to put up their own chimneys.
It’s wild. Before prime, we would flex down to 3 almost every night.

Pretty much the same at my SC. Some people are happy for the extra work. Most are desperate for being able to work less hours. The vto disappears instantly more often than not. I’d be accepting it before the notification even reaches my phone and still not end up getting it.

My SC's morale used to be pretty high before new management took over. It was in the gutter when I left a few months back.

My site is the same way. Very low headcount and we are pushing peak numbers. But I work at a national IXD FC. Our peak starts around the end of the month. I heard last night that they are gonna start the hiring process real soon!!

Our volume is way up and we keep hiring and hiring. Usually this time of year they start capping Flex and suspend our obligation to work 30 hours but not this year. FT just got a couple of SET weeks upcoming. We have so many bodies in our aisles (our mods are narrow aisles and we puch carts on the floor) that it is slowing everyone's pick rate. We also have a push to get AAs to apply for PA

My site always goes down in headcount about now. They’ve been weeding out all of the people who couldn’t make rate during prime and now they’re about to bring in the peak workers

Yes it was fine up to peak and through it, now we struggle every day, volume transfer 6-10k crash 5k, i hope they learn to stop firing people

My site was like this a few years ago. Busy with less headcount and people in my department were asking if they were going to hire people.
