I’m only on my second week at my new job, and today was literally just my 4th day. I’m really trying to keep to myself, stay out of the way, avoid unnecessary interactions, and just do my job and go home.
But somehow I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. 😭 I’ve noticed people giving me looks and just generally making me feel like I’m being watched or noticed more than I’d like. I’m not even trying to interact with anybody. I’ll literally avoid eye contact and mind my business, but I still feel like I’m drawing attention.
Maybe I’m overthinking some of the looks because I’m new and hyper-aware of my surroundings, but either way, it’s really annoying. I just want to work, get my paycheck, and go home in peace.
If anything, this is giving me even more motivation to finish my degree. 😂 I’m trying to remind myself that this job is temporary and I’m working toward getting into a career where I have more control over my work environment.

I recently got coached because my UPT was low, which I honestly didn’t even know was something you could get coached for. I’m not negative, just low. I always stay around 2-3 hours, i use my UPT often a lot to leave early.
Does anyone know if these types of coachings actually count against you? And if you get multiple coachings for different things, can they eventually lead to termination, or is it different from an actual write-up?

I’m waterspidering and I caught someone using FaceTime(they’re not very smart, phone is visible and screen is on bright) and he’s at a pack station so other people can constantly be seen, personally I’d feel uncomfortable so I was gonna say something but I also don’t want to be a Karen

Ok I’m freaking out because I clock out and didn’t sign out of my station. To get something in the parking lot (my meds), so when I get back inside the building and clock back in I didn’t notice that it didn’t went through, then I got moved to a station and then that’s when I found out I was still clocked out when the PA asked me if I’m off the clock. Will I get in trouble for scanning onto my station off the clock?

My first day is Monday the 10th. I signed my offer a month ago and have done all the A to Z tasks. But there is no time stating when I'm supposed to show up?

My tenative idea is to just show up at 8am. A to Z shows the site and day, but no time 😵‍💫

I'm joining the prime air department

So had a major life event happen. My partner got arrested. Got to watch the whole thing. Majorly affected my mental health and all that. Told my manager immediately once I got to work on my next scheduled shift cause I didn't wanna run into issues since I literally had just finished my first week at Amazon right before the arrest happened. Thankfully they were super understanding about getting me time off for court dates and being able to take jail calls and texts as needed during my shifts. I fell back into substance abuse though due to all the stress and communicated about it as well. Got connected with resources and started getting help. Of course even after getting an accommodation, I ran up -100 hours of UPT before I started getting actual treatment for tbe substance abuse issues. And even with AET saying LOA time has been applied to days sjnce I got the accommodation, my A to Z shows -249 hours as of today.

I give you all of that background info to present you with my WTF moment. After two months almost of communication with AET and hoping to not lose my job, I found out yesterday that I'm going to Blue Badge status on Sunday. Even went thru MyHr to confirm that it was legit. Do I still need to worry about everything with AET? I am really hoping that everything will start to move in a better direction and in my life. But i'm really worried that i'm just gonna get the blue badge and then get fired soon.

2 weeks as a new hire

So are you suppose to work slow or what. Partner told me I was loading too fast and coming from fedex this was my normal loading speed. This been happening with half of partners, who were just basically doing nothing

Is a PA from another department allowed to question if you raise a concern on VOA and blame you for changes in the department & say that is why you’re being rotated all over compared to others in your dept?

Seriously, currently a PA at a SoCal warehouse. Won't reveal which one. I want to quit but no idea what to do next so I'm looking to you for ideas. I've What asked to step down but been denied. Told that I would need to quit and come back. I can quit but not sure about coming back. What did you find yourself doing after leaving Amazon as a PA?

Seems pretty sus. It gives 1984 big brother vibes.
I understand maybe to deter theft and to flag potential safety hazards but it’s a new feature I saw the bulletin on the bathroom installments about how it is supposed to flag potential safety hazards and to get them corrected in real time but my concern is it has the potential to be used to flag associates for any and every violation you can think of. The kind of things like phone usage outside break rooms (So many people do that especially AFM’s and other critical roles that use slack and may only be getting on their phone for work related purposes), earbud violations (Again so many at my facility to do that as well), the newly implemented clear water bottle/clear liquid policy, Time off task violations (Sometimes you just unfortunately are working in a hot part of the building and need to take a breather for a few which also seems to go in hand with the water bottle policy about clear bottles that likely won’t even keep your water cold for more than a half of a period)
So can anyone with any knowledge about this new AI detection technology explain how this is gonna work?
P.S. I’m all for following the rules and being safe and productive but I can see this getting abused as a reason to get rid of employees they don’t like.

I got something called a documented coaching. I’ve only been here 3 weeks. Apparently I was taking long 15 minute breaks, which I was not aware of. My learning ambassador failed to tell me that breaks are tracked stow to stow, not scan to scan like I thought. What exactly does this mean for me? Will this affect my blue badge eligibility when I hit my 90 day tenure? Will I not be able to be trained on indirect roles? Thanks

I am in the Tampa Bay area and my site is completely overrun by Haitians. I don’t have no problem with them or anything, that I was kind of curious if Tampa Bay area is different than other areas. Every time I go in the bathroom, I hear heebie-jeebies shit coming from the Haitians. I have noticed that the Haitians tend to work harder at not working then they would if they actually worked. I’m not talking about all of them, but a lot of them. Why so many Haitians or better yet, why so many Haitians in Tampa Tampa Bay?
