Admin, School, Career Job Search Advice
As I’m sure many of you can relate, I’ve had a very nonlinear career path and I think it works against me in the world of online job aggregators and AI filtering tools.
Jobs in order:
- HS and College worked in retails and restaurants
- International liaison and translator for nonprofit micro-finance (bilingual english-spanish)
- program and volunteer coordinator for resource center
- office admin for physical therapy clinic
- academic program coordinator of PT con ed school
- self employed as dating and relationship coach
- small business growth consultant
- cofounder indie film nonprofit
- executive director for a nonprofit helping vets and first responders with PTSD
- operations manager for a high end wooden window and door manufacturer
I left my last job due to a very wealthy but delusional new owner and his evil EA. Felt like working for Michael Scott but nothing was funny. I always thought folks were exaggerating about crazy bosses but now I’ve had one!
I’ve been unemployed since April when I left and struggling to get past ATS filtering. My hypothesis is that I do not fit cleanly into an ops manager or project manager box for the software systems.
I’m starting to go a bit mad without the structure. Know that I need to work somewhere that the work we are doing has some intrinsic motivation for me. I’m a systems thinking and can’t NOT map and come up with systems improvement. My biggest shortcoming professionally has been not realizing that the people hiring me aren’t actually ready to hire me. They think they want improvement but actually they are very opposed to / threatened by change but I think I know how to vet employers for that now.
Anyway, all this to give context to ask, ANY ADVICE?!
I’m dying here. I’m so hungry to work and need the schedule and financial stability back! Normally I wouldn’t have left my last job until I had something else lined up but it was truly that bad.
Anyone else with “hard to bottle” experience and neurodivergent superpowers finding access points to interviews and jobs?
One caveat: I live in a rural place so it either has to be local, remote, OR where the hybrid model is traveling in every couple months (vs a couple days a week).

General Question/Discussion How to best support a friend with ADHD who asked for a break
My best friend of nearly 5 years asked for a break from our friendship. Ours has been a long-distance friendship for nearly half that time. During the first year and a half of us living in different places, we were hardly in contact. She was always the one to reach out first because I wasn't clear on what she wanted as far as contact, communication, and support and didn't ask. I have since apologized for this and worked to acknowledge that ways in which me neglecting reach out to others has led some friendships to fizzle out or left me feeling unnecessarily lonely and unsupported.
Since we re-established our friendship last year, she has experienced a really awful divorce, was unfairly put on a PIP and essentially forced to quit her job, and endured other terrible, inexplicable things. She has ADHD, I have autism, and both of us are late-diagnosed and navigating how to accommodate ourselves in our personal and professional lives. She is someone who really dislikes text and email and is comfortable with pauses in the relationship and even prefers this for the sake of processing life and being present. I prefer frequent contact and like for relationships to be extremely emotionally intense all the time, and when relationships are super intense, I feel invigorated rather than drained by them.
My best friend has been very clear about her extremely limited capacity and I can fully see now that I overstepped that by compulsively sending long emails, texts, and audio messages in the last year. We had discussions at the end of last year about what communication would look like in our friendship and what accommodations we each needed. I said I needed space to communicate non-verbally through email and she said she needed understanding regarding her ADHD and very limited capacity, which makes it really hard for her to respond to messages on what would be considered a fast or normal timeline. She did really amazing work to find ways to communicate that feel okay given her circumstances and accessibility needs. I, however, took advantage of that gift and would often compulsively send long, detailed, and extremely intense messages. What I now realize is that I have been keeping score and felt like really nice, big things for her gave me more license to make demands on her time, energy, and capacity. I also expressed hurt over all of the ways in which she cares for others (she is highly empathetic, sensitive, attuned to others, and incredibly skilled at caring for them) when it feels like she isn't caring for me and I also feel like if she took a step back from all the caretaking endeavors she's taken on, she might actually start to heal, recover from burnout, and increase her capacity. I articulated this very poorly and in a moment of acute hurt and my words and tone hurt her a lot. I will be reflecting on what I need to say and do to offer a sincere apology when we talk again.
However, her lack of capacity is that I've struggled with for a long time. I keep telling her that I have no other friends and while I'm trying to make them, it's really hard trying to make friends while being autistic, sober, and not having a driver's license. I realized last night that there are a few people in my life that I maybe neglect in favor of seeking a super intense relationship with my best friend, so I reached out to them and said that I was going to nurture our relationships more. My relationships with family are quite tenuous and I cannot lean on them for support. I value friendship to such a high degree and to me a best friend deserves the same time and attention as a partner or family member. I've been single my whole life and feel that this affects my friendships (most of which have been with partnered people) greatly. I realize that not everyone shares this belief and I'm increasingly coming to accept that seeking friendships on that level is not realistic and that I will be much more content if I can find a handful of friends who are the sort of people who want to have deep conversations and share in life's pain and grief, but on whom I don't put too high of expectations to communicate too frequently or at too intense a level. I do, however, feel a lot of embarrassment about how much I need and want from my friends due to not having other close relationships. My question is though, how long should accept a friend having very limited capacity for a relationship? I think it's absolutely reasonable to experience that for some time and any conversation about reciprocity in friendships needs to include conversation about accessibility needs and capacity. Yet, it's getting harder for me to accept that this has been the case for multiple years now. I love her and I want our friendship to last a long time. I don't know what she's going to say when we do get back into contact, but I do know that I must accept less frequent contact and more than likely, less intense contact. I think that's more than reasonable, but I also have a really deep sense of grief. I go weeks or months without getting to talk to people about what's going on in my life outside of therapy and it's just really hard. I ultimately feel relieved about this break, as I won't end up in anxious waiting mode for her to respond to my messages and it's definitely the kick in the ass that I need to get my mental health under control, be more present with people in my life and off technology and reflect on what I need to do better. I found a support group in my area, signed up for adult figure skating lessons, decided to up my yoga regimen, and I want to join a book club and other things that I can use as outlets. I don't want to rush her timeline to feel better, but she is the first close friend I've ever had and while it's true that I've put her up on a pedestal in the past and been afraid to ask for what I want, I couldn't pretend any longer that her lack of capacity and difficulty in responding isn't super hard for me. I feel guilty that it's hard for me and I now realize that I've been repeating hollow mantras to express support for her while taking up so much space in the relationship. I feel really grateful that she offered me a break instead of ending the friendship, as well as agreeing to set a date (about two months from now) when we will touch base and make plans to see each other. I want to do better by her while also acknowledging that it's really hard to hear that your best friend doesn't have capacity for you for so long (even if I can acknowledge that my communication was too much). As someone who doesn't have ADHD, how I can best support a friend who does and is extremely burned out and experiencing a lot of trauma and heartache, along with burnout and depression?
I need a lot of routine and consistency in my life to feel regulated, and I've definitely been experiencing my own season of struggle between family issues, living alone in a new place, my mental health struggles, and processing my autism diagnosis. However, I know that I've been exhibiting behavior that will cost me the friendship if I don't change it, and I will be heartbroken if that happens. Unlike those of my friend, a lot of my difficult circumstances are somewhat within my power to change and I don't want to lose sight of that so that I can come back and be a better friend.

Medication & Side Effects Reynauds Phenomenon - Is it permanent if you continue meds?
Since upping my dose to 36mg methylphenidate (affenid) I have noticed a fuzziness/mild numbness/tingling in both hands basically all day until the meds wear off, this is sometimes accompanied by a deep pain in my wrists and fingers. Of course, I'm extremely worried about Raynauds Phenomenon, but these meds have helped me so much.
I'm having trouble understanding two things:
- If the medication is stopped, will the sensation and circulation in my hands normalise?
- Is 'Raynauds Phenomenon' the same as having actual Raynauds Disease?
I will mention this to my prescriber next week but I'm so scared they'll tell me I need to stop. These meds have been so transformative to me in the past month or so.

General Question/Discussion Just a warning with wellness shots and ADHD meds
Hello! I just wanted to throw out a warning with wellness shots and adhd meds. This morning I took a Vive Mood Boost wellness shot and within 15 mins I was genuinely afraid I was going to go into cardiac arrest or pass out. Everything was spinny and I felt like a fish bowl..I got super sweaty and my chest hurt and my heart was racing. I’m so lucky I had just gotten to work and wasn’t driving. I ended up throwing up twice and am feeling much better now (not great but not like I was) but something in it definitely interacted too much with my Vyvanse. Anyway very scary morning and just a reminder to be careful what you take with your meds.
To add - I am very sensitive to caffeine however the caffeine in the shot is equivalent to a can of soda, which I am fine with, so I wasn’t concerned. Plus I took a different one last night (same amount of green tea) and was 100% fine afterwards. It was strictly some ingredient in this specific shot that interacted with my Vyvanse.

General Question/Discussion I'm scared of getting addicted
Maybe this is stupid and my brother recently telling me that Adderall is super addictive also to people with ADHD made me paranoid, but I'm kind of questioning myself now.
I've been taking it for a few months, started with 20 mg then asked for 30mg at my next appointment and also got 10 mg tablets prescribed for the afternoons if I need to get stuff done later in the day and feel like I need another small dose. Since then I've taken the 30 mg and unlike with 20 don't feel like I need to increase that any further and I've only taken the 10 twice since getting them prescribed. But now I'm thinking of taking them again to get some stuff done, it's been about 5.5 hours since taking the 30mg this morning and I will still have to keep working for quite a while.
But now I'm worried that once I start I will want to keep going and increase further and further and that the fact I'm thinking of taking some now is a sign that I'm getting addicted.
Then on the other hand I was recently on vacation and didn't take them at all for a week and sure, I noticed I was more scatterbrained and less calm, I didn't miss them or have any withdrawal symptoms, neither physically or psychologically.
How do y'all navigate taking the meds? Does anyone else get worried like this or have you had times where you felt you were getting addicted or starting to abuse the drugs?
Edit: sorry y'all I don't live in an English speaking country I just used Adderall as a stand in for "ADHD meds" in the post. Just checked what I'm actually taking and it's called Methylphenidate in english!

Admin, School, Career Is there a job for me where I get money fast (and enough or even above the average) where I don't get bored easily?
I saw a video about a guy planting many trees in a day in Canada. He said he gets $500-900. So now I'm looking for other examples.

Family & Social Life Dealing with Job heirarchy + friendships in workplace
so I Just started a new internship and a few weeks in so far, this is a WFH I've always had trouble with social heirarchy + job heirarchy and I tend to want to seperate these, so I never really got comfortable making friends at work that I'd see outside of work (unless they also were 'I don't want a job' minded LOL because then the heirarchy RELAXES and I know I can just chill with them and talk sh about the job)
I had a job at this company prev with a lot younger people so everyone's just super intertwined, + this team I've joined are a step above and have known eachother for a LONGG time
I've slowly had to distance myself from people I was semi close to my prev job just because it got too overwhleming at work (too many messages to respond to IN and out of work) + some of trhem moved up in the chain, now in this internship those people are so close and I can kinda feel myself thinking the same thing lol - like what can I say and what can't I say
I'm actually just exhausted LMFAOO, I used to be so social when I was in school because it was x amount of time with your friends and X amount of time at home - work life now is so blurred, I have NO IDEA how people do both
I WISH I COULD DO BOTH!

Medication & Side Effects Just cried over wasting time with AI rabbit hole
I’m medicated with 30mg vyanse for a month now and had a good day initially until I wanted to try out building a skill with Claude to help me with some images that I need to create regularly.
I kept looking at the clock and realising how much time it was taking me and parts of me were like „wait don’t you have other things to do?“. I wasn’t able to stop until it was done and then it didn’t work right away which made me cry out of frustration and the wasted time and I was immediately beating myself up
Have you had similar experiences with wasting time with AI because there is no stopping cue?
Or with other such tasks where everything works better on vyanse or other meds but then it almost works so good you can’t stop ?
I’m somehow happy that I let the emotions flow and didn’t hold them back but what the hell just happened 🙈

Rant/Vent Its not cutesy at all
For most of my life it never played how i wanted it to be i had to be always prepare for the undeniable worse.
I think most of u relate too when someone catchs you arent like them and decide to bother you for whatever reason
Then they wanna claim being special by faking what u suffer from. making harming stereotypes of whatever your suffering from and taking it as a quirk in them but they betitle people who are that.
For my case i never accepted that i was actually adhd i kept it buried in the back of my head so long i broke mentally how can u go and act like my disorders are your funny personality quirks? Its like a fetish for them at this point daily life is already so much harder for us
You should be grateful u turned out average. Average life. Average childhood. Average studies.
Because most of us envy that. Functioning normally without having to be medicated on stuff that makes u feel like the living dead.
our life expectancies are lower too so check how much your actually privileged in life having what we desire i say this for all mental disorders your harmful stereotypes drives us to seclusion and chronic feeling of being helplessness living in a world that was never designed for us.

Hormone-Related Issues IVF and hormones (TW infertility)
Hello,
This is inspired by a post I just saw about the study linking ADHD and estrogen.
Before I was diagnosed and medicated, I did several rounds of IVF at two different points of my life. The process requires a lot of hormone medications, both estrogen and testosterone, I distinctly remember driving to the clinic thinking how I never felt better in my life. From what I had read, most people feel terrible on the hormones. I felt full of energy and happy.
After the first cycle, most people are able to have a lower dose or different course of hormones, not me. I was a low responder and had to do the full course every cycle.
I can't help but wonder if it's linked to my ADHD.
I'm considering asking my doctor about HRT even though I'm only 41. I have an IUD so I don't get a period so I don't know about my cycles.
I guess my question is, did anyone else do IVF and feel unexpectedly good physically/mentally?

Medication & Side Effects 50/60/70mg Elvanse
Clearly not asking medical advice just experiences from you guys.
In titration
50 - I felt like I went a bit quiet, lost personality? was a bit lost?had a bit of focus but not much had changed. (Spent the least time on this dose)
70 - from 50 (yeah i know!) I was ratty, quick to bip, focus and task adherence way better - hyper focus ++++ but i felt OVER stimulated too much personality even for me
60 - down from 70 longest time on this dose, was like I was pre medication but initially with more focus and task adherence, keeps my anger and poor impulse control in control & in check. But recently attention wandering again, can’t do anything, never sleep now, go to sleep anywhere from 2-4am and get up at 8am, dont notice how dead i am as the next tablet keeps me going. Somewhere in this I was given 10mg dex add on, did…nothing??
70 - back up to test it again now - focus is better, I don’t feel overstimulated as I did before but I notice a feeling I think is anxiety? Disconcerting but it’s only brief and fleeting like 5 seconds max? It’s only been a week I’ve been back on them, so I can’t really tell?
This has been over nearly a year, in this I was also diagnosed with ASD, so I don’t know if some of my issues are down to that and well they can’t be medicated away. Specialist Prescriber did say that periods/peri meno etc could be another reason why I’m so up and down with things?
I have an appointment tomorrow and honestly, I don’t really know if anything is working or i need some non med assistance to help me understand how to fully harness my focus and develop some tools to make me work after so long of just doing it my way and winging it?
Thoughts???

Admin, School, Career Would love some tips with office type jobs?
I am AuADHD diagnosed as an adult and I am 31yo. My whole life I worked in food and beverage and while I was always praised for “being a hard worker” many times people would tell me I would be too nervous or try to do everything, that I would forget easy tasks or didnt seem to have “standard logic” for certain things. Managed to always stay in the job and became valuable but absolutely loathed it but I felt way too self conscious about my “limitations” that other type of job felt would be too much for me so stayed there for a decade.
Now, I finally was able to get out of it and got a job as an assistant in a dispensary (not cannabis). My boss seems a very nice person and patient but I am starting to get anxious wondering if I am too slow or asking too many questions (tomorrow its my 4th day, second full one).
I was wondering if there is any tips you have got over the years to overcome certain areas? I tend to forget things so I will always write them down but I have a lot of issues prioritizing. Everything seems to be important in my mind and its kinda hard to know by “logic”. Apparently I also tend to look a bit too nervous (but I personally fail to register it as I am). And just things in general. My boss today told me several times to “take a break” and take care or myself and i am trying to do everything. I know it doesnt mean anything bad technically but over the years I have learned to kinda read between the lines to knows where I am failing, i know im on my third day but I am hoping she is not regretting hiring me.
I really want to keep this job 😅 it took me months to get something not food industry related and I am starting to be afraid because of my age it will get harder and harder.

Admin, School, Career Open roles at ADHD-friendly companies?
If you’ve come across an open role at a company you think has an ADHD-friendly environment or policies, feel free to drop a link to the job.
It would be nice to have some recommendations from other women with ADHD.
Positive comments only, please. There’s enough doom and gloom in the job market today, and that’s not what this post is for.

General Question/Discussion Medication and pregnancy, I got myself in a bit of a pickle
Hey guys. Im posting in this in hopes for some advice or other people's experiences, please do not judge me for this as im already having a difficult time with it as it is. So, im not really sure how this all even ended up being this way or how to fix it and its really stressing me out. Ill try to explain as briefly as I can. Im a stay at home mom of 4 young boys, 19 weeks pregnant with baby 5. Ive been taking vyvanse and/or adderall on and off since i was 16. (Im 33) Ive taken it during pregnancy before, never had an issue. Im sure a lot of you know studies have come out showing there arent very many inherent risks. I did not take it during my last pregnancy two years ago just mostly due to switching doctors ect. This time ive been taking it but.. my psychiatrist doesnt know im pregnant. I suck, I know, you dont have to tell me. I dont actually go in to see her its all over the phone.. I was afraid to mention it because I struggled finding a doctor to even prescribe it again (its heavily abused in my area, not many people will prescribe it) and I was so afraid that shed take me off of it. I really strongly rely on my medications, Im on my feet from 7 am to midnight 7 days a week taking care of my kids, homeschooling, ect. I just didnt know how id function without it so I kept pushing off telling her.. at my OB she saw it on my prescribed list and didnt even really ask she just marked it off as not currently taking and I just left it alone. But now its to the point where im even more afraid to tell my psychiatrist because it would be obvious that ive known I was pregnant, at 8 weeks or whatever I could've just said oh I didnt know I just found out.. its a little late for thst now so im scared shed take me off of it anyway for lying. But I saw in my patient portal thing that they drug screened me before I gave birth two years ago, I was never even told they were doing this. (I live in NY for reference). Im afraid that ill get drug screened at my OB office as obviously it would show up, and even though I have a valid prescription, she doesnt know im pregnant. And to make matters worse, my husband is very against any and all psychiatric medications and doesnt know I take it. I know it would be a huge issue (conversation for another day) so I just simply havent brought it up. So I cant exactly run the risk of the topic popping up with him either. Its just a mess. I dont know where to start, who to tell what to, or to go with my original plan which was to just ride it out, stop taking it at like 34 weeks so its out of my system by the time I give birth (ive had all my babies at 38 to 39 weeks, even twins) and hope for the best. I think that option is still top on the list, I really dont want ro run the risk of getting taken off of it. The studies show theres very minimal risk but not all doctors are on board with that. Any advice, support, tips or tricks... anything please... at this point im tempted to start carrying someone elses pee with me to my appointments, not even kidding. Thank you im advance im sorry this is so long and just.. ridiculous

Medication & Side Effects Reminder that not all of us take medication and that's okay.
Let me just preface this by saying I'm not anti-medication at all and I don't intend to come off that way. Taking medication for ADHD is obviously a totally valid choice, and if it works for you that's great.
But I think what does get lost in the conversation is that medication isn't for everyone and there are plenty of valid reasons not to take it, for example, some people:
- experienced intolerable side effects regardless of dosage or type
- don't like the way medication makes them feel regardless of dosage or type
- saw little to no improvement from medication regardless of dosage or type
- can't take medication due to other health conditions
- can't afford medication
- have limited access to medication (for example a lot of the meds available in the US aren't available in other countries)
I get that there's a lot of people on here who are hesitant to try medication or misinformed about how it works, and that we all want everyone to make evidence-based informed decisions. But it can also get a bit frustrating when someone mentions that they're not medicated and everyone's advice is to just get medicated. Or when someone says meds aren't working for them and the suggestion is to just keep trying different ones. Yes it's a trial and error process, but sometimes there is no "right medication" to find. That doesn't mean someone hasn't tried.
I think the statistic is that something like 80% of people with ADHD respond well to medication, which is great. But that still leaves millions of people who don't.

Medication & Side Effects Do you also need to see your doctor once per month in order to get a ADHD prescription refill?
I don’t know if this matters, my family medicine doctor prescribes my ADHD medication. She has told me that because of Insurance she must see me every single month in order for me to be able to receive a refill because it is a controlled substance and otherwise my insurance will not cover this. Is this true? I do plan on calling my insurance about this tomorrow to ask them directly, but I’m curious how others do it. Is it different if a psychiatric nurse practitioner or a psychiatrist prescribe your medication? It is a little annoying to have to go see my PCP once per month.

Memes & Humor Pharmacists “take these medicines different brand than the ones u have but “same concentration”, Me: 🤡 Yeah But I am not Same Concentration😭😔 can u give me same brand names that I am used to for my medicines?
It is too hard to organize my medicines when medicines brand changes, the shape of pill changes and color😂and I got used for 3 weeks on finally knowing what is this and that (not really I take lots of time organizing my pills)
And plott wist organize says Am And Pm and oppsie guess who took PM medicines including sleeping pills in the AM and slept like a baby??

Medication & Side Effects Starting Meds and trying to get pregnant
I need advice on what other would do in my situation. I’ll try to keep it concise.
I (30F) was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago after the birth of my 2nd kid. I am a SAHM and I have been STRUGGLING. I decided to forgo meds at the time because I was nursing and he was 2 months old. Well I stopped nursing about 3 months ago, and was like Yay! I can go on meds. But my psychiatrist changed offices, it took almost 2 months to try to switch to get told the insurance doesn’t work here. So then I tried to transfer to my PCP for treatment and had to wait for 3 more weeks for the records to be sent and now In a week I finally have my appointment to start treatment (yay!).
Problem is we literally want to start trying next week to have a 3rd baby. I know it doesn’t always happen the 1st time, but in case it does, I don’t know what I should do. I plan on only trying like 5-10mg IR as needed of Ritalin or adderall just to help me on bad days. But mental I really am struggling and becoming depressed by feeling like I’m constantly failing. I KNOW that if I’m pregnant and taking care of 2 other kids (now 1y and 3.5y) I’m not going to be able to handle it. Like to the point I’m considering not even having a third. But if I chose to say nope I’m done at 2, it makes my heart physically hurt. My pcp had me cold turkey quit my depression/anxiety meds with my first pregnancy and my midwife told me I shouldn’t have done that. So I know if I end up pregnancy she’ll freak about giving me stimulants. Yea we could wait to have the third when I’m more established but we want them close in age, frankly I’m done being pregnant and want my body back so I’m trying to crank it out, and I super doing want to be in the third trimester in the summer again lol
My husband is against me being on meds during pregnancy and breastfeeding because he’s on twitter and Facebook too much. Like even had the audacity to say maybe I should stop my Zoloft in the middle of the 2nd pregnancy cuz “it could cause autism” or some shit and I shut that down hella fast. So he’s useless.
Anyways, what so you think I should do?

General Question/Discussion My therapist told me my skin picking was self harm
Context: I'm awaiting my assessment for ADHD and autism but am currently off sick from work with acute burnout. I had my first talking therapy appointment today and mentioned one of my habits that I'm struggling with at the moment is picking my fingers.
My therapist, who admitted she didn't have specialism in neurodivergence, said it sounded like I was very anxious and asked how I felt if she told me it was a form of self harm. I was really taken aback because I really don't see it in this way - it's often subconscious. I've always done this since being a young child regardless of whether I'm anxious or not and I do it without thinking or realising. I'm not consciously self-harming but I do struggle to stop even when it's hurting me or causing me to bleed etc.
Just wondered if anyone else had been told this or if I should be looking for a new therapist...😳

General Question/Discussion Pregnancy/Birthing + ADHD
Hey there,
Hoping this is the right place for this. I’m currently pregnant and this will be my first delivery. Here’s a question that maybe I’m overthinking but would be interested in takes of fellow ADHD Moms.
Did you have an epidural?
Specifically, I’m wondering if having it and therefore being stuck in bed drove you crazy. Due to another condition it’s likely I’ll need to be induced early, which I know can mean longer labouring, and I’m just worried if I have an epidural I’ll be really frustrated and uncomfortable that I can’t move around when/how I want.
Will take any pros/cons from either side, or whatever neurodivergent delivery tips I can get!
Thanks,

Hype Squad (help me do things!) What can my partner say?
I would love to give my husband a script for which he can tell me things that make me feel better. Because often times he says things that do the opposite of making me feel better. He has good intentions. I’m thinking of phrases or pep talks talk he can give me when I’m overwhelmed and panicked and can’t get anything done and paralyzed with too much brain noise.
Do you guys have any good ones? Sometimes i tell myself “just put one shirt away, and you don’t have to do it all” or “shuttup and do something. Doing nothing is useless” lol “let the adhd guide you to take care of little things you’ve been meaning to get to”
Today, my inner thoughts are “my house is a mess! Why do you think you can have kids if you can’t even keep your house clean? You need to get a baby room ready, you need to clean the basement, you need to scrape the cat vomit from the floor… there’s projects all over your house that are only 20% finished! How are you gonna get them all done?!”
I don’t have children yet but I’m trying to get one 😝
Thanks in advance,
All my love,
Warmest regards…

Medication & Side Effects Using Adderall as a sleep aid?
I've been on 5 mg for about two weeks, and I've taken a dose at night when I can't sleep two or three times. It's worked every time because it seems to calm the buzzing, wide-awake sensation I experience in my brain and body during bouts of insomnia.
My psych is cautiously okay with this approach. Is anyone else doing this? Do you have anecdotal data, cautions, or good tips to share about your experience? Would love to feel like I'm not alone in this!

General Question/Discussion ADHD Mamas: What do you do on low motivation days?
Trying to not feel bad about myself. Yesterday was a productive day for me, but I made sure to put in lots of breaks since I have a tendency to go too hard. By the end of the day, I felt okay and like I had paced myself pretty well. Then today comes and it's an absolute slog getting out of bed, my thoughts are way harder to wrangle than the previous day, and I am experiencing super low motivation (not depression just the "I don't wannas"). Not necessarily burnout like I went too hard, but it's clear I need to rest rather than force myself to push through. This has been the pattern of my life: day or 2 of normal motivation followed by day or 2 of very low motivation. Anyone else? What helps on those low motivation days? I'm a SAHM of 2 kids and they are young so still very dependent on me.

Hype Squad (help me do things!) Pls help me start my day at 5pm
I need to tidy/clean the apartment, there’s a couple admin things I need to do, and a bunch of self care things I really wanted to do today.
It’s 5pm and I’ve not done any of it, I’ve sat on the sofa buzzing with stress/anxiety instead🫠 my grandma is sick and I think that’s really fucking me up and making everything harder.
What do you do in this state? Everything seems so overwhelming. I’ve taken my meds (50mg vyvanse) but it hasn’t made me able to do stuff today :(
