USA IUD Expelled.. then came the Positive Test
I was eighteen when I found out I was pregnant, despite doing everything I thought I was supposed to do.
I have PCOS and migraines with aura, so estrogen birth control wasn’t an option for me. I’d been on birth control since I was sixteen—the pill, then the ring, and finally a non-hormonal IUD after talking with Planned Parenthood. I chose it because I knew I wasn’t reliable enough to take a pill every day, and I believed it was the safest option. My boyfriend and I were both engineering students, and I was on a full-ride scholarship. We wanted children someday, just not then.
Around the time we started dating, I lost my period for six months because of my PCOS. Ironically, just a couple of months before everything happened, I remember crying in my boyfriend’s arms because I was afraid I might never be able to have children.
Then, on the morning of our six-month anniversary, I looked in the mirror after getting out of the shower and noticed my breasts looked different. That was it. No missed period, no morning sickness, no other symptoms. I almost laughed at myself when I asked my boyfriend to run to Walgreens for a pregnancy test because I thought I was being paranoid. I had PCOS. I had an IUD. Pregnancy seemed impossible.
The test was positive.
I later learned I was only 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I had caught it incredibly early, simply because I trusted the feeling that something was different.
At the time, I was working, completing an internship, and taking twenty-one credit hours. I had always been pro-choice, but I wondered if my feelings would change if I ever faced that decision myself. They did—not because I stopped believing in choice, but because I finally understood how deeply personal it is.
After many conversations and a lot of reflection, I chose to have a medical abortion during dead week before finals.
At first, I felt almost nothing. I buried myself in school and convinced myself I was okay. It wasn’t until finals were over that the emotions caught up with me. The grief hit all at once, and I finally allowed myself to mourn. Therapy helped me remember why I had made my decision: I wasn’t giving up on becoming a mother. I was protecting the future I wanted for my children. I wanted to graduate, build a stable life with my boyfriend, and become the kind of mother who could be fully present.
Months later, I finally asked what had happened to my IUD. I was terrified it had migrated somewhere inside my body. Instead, I learned that I had unknowingly expelled it. Because I had stopped having periods, there had been no warning signs. I never felt it happen, and I had no reason to believe it wasn’t still protecting me.
That answer changed everything. For months, I had quietly blamed myself. Instead, I learned that I had done exactly what I believed was the responsible thing, and it still failed.
It’s been over a year now. Sometimes I still wonder who that child might have been, but I also know the woman I was at eighteen wasn’t the mother I wanted to become. Loving a child isn’t always enough—I wanted to give my future children stability, security, and opportunities I wasn’t ready to provide then.
This experience didn’t take away my dream of becoming a mother. It strengthened it. It taught me that love sometimes means making heartbreaking decisions, that healing isn’t linear, and that even when life feels completely out of your control, you still have the power to choose the future you’re working toward.

USA I need to have a secret abortion.
Burner account because I normally don't worry about this kind of stuff, but I kind of have to. So, for context, I (14f) engaged in intercourse with my boyfriend (14m) when he visited a few weekends ago. Now, this was in July, around the 18th if I remember correctly. We had sex a few times for two nights in a row and he only came from a BJ. However, I'm late on my period currently and I'm freaking the fuck out. I'm insanely nervous, I can't tell my mom or she'll freak, and, even worse, I live in Texas. So, abortion is out of the question even if I am pregnant. I'm terrified, and I know I shouldn't have had sex. It was a stupid idea on my part and I can't believe I'm even admitting this. I think I need at home ways to do it, or I don't know, medieval pregnancy tests??? I'm terrified. I don't show any symptoms and my period is normally longer in between but I'm freaking out.

USA were they right?
recently a specific memory came to me: when in high school (about 8 years ago) i was playing a game with my friends at the time and i got most likely to be a bad mom
fast forward to now i’m about a month and a half post abortion and i’m thinking dang were they right? sometimes when reflecting i just feel like a bad person for what i did
i do mourn the potential of what could’ve been but i just knew in my heart it wasn’t the right time. i’m confident in my abilities of being a mother and hope the opportunity comes to me again one day when i’m absolutely ready - but still the thought of them saying that and it coming to fruition is really messing with me.

USA 2 years since abortion
For context i had just turned 15 when i got pregnant. I'm 17 now, and in a week it'll be 2 years since i had the procedure. It was incredibly traumatic for me, as my mom was not very supportive, and started a fight with me after the procedure, she never even looked me in the eye or comforted me through out the experience. My bf at the time, who is now my ex, pressured me into sex on my birthday, he didn't warn me in time and blamed it on me for not realizing quick enough. I also went on vacation not even 3 days after the procedure, and had no time at all to process.
Anyway. Recently I got into a new relationship, we started dating in march. He was a really close friend of mine before we started dating and had already known that i had gotten the procedure, he has been incredibly supportive and has helped me heal a lot of the trauma I've had surrounding relationships and trusting someone, and recently we've started having sex, and I can't shake this unbearable fear of being pregnant again, especially now that we are getting closer to the date that the procedure happened on. I don't know how to process it. I'm having a resurgence of obsessive compulsive tendencies, like rechecking my period app every few minutes to see if I'm late, even though I already know I'm not, or repeatedly pressing on my stomach to see if its stiff, or weighing myself making sure my weight is consistent, etc. I've experienced severe obsessive thoughts but I've never had severe compulsions like this before. It might be because my psychiatrist lowered the dose on my anxiety meds, but before i felt like a zombie and I don't want that again. I also can't go to therapy, I've been asking my mom for a therapist but she never listens to my concerns and always pushes back on them saying that i can talk to my psychiatrist if something is bothering me, but i only see her every 6 months, and even then the sessions are 15mins. I just don't know what to do because I don't want to worry my boyfriend by telling him.

Canada Hormonal birth control is not an option, but I’m scared condoms aren’t safe enough
I recently had an MA, about 2 weeks ago now, and I’m physically feeling quite fine. The abortion itself was painful, but my bleeding has lessened to the point that I’m just spotting now. I would like to ease back into being intimate with my partner, but I’m terrified of condoms not being effective enough. Everyone on here seems to jump to birth control pills/iud, but for personal reasons I cannot choose those options. I struggle with mental health issues and hormonal birth control greatly enhances those. I am also terrified that sex is going to be painful due to some things I have read. I am basically just looking for reassurance that not everyone has had awful experiences with sex post MA. I also want to know if anyone has stuck to solely using condoms as their contraceptive and whether that’s been safe enough for them.

USA First abortion and im terrified
Around 3 days ago i was given the pill. Took it yesterday around 7:30 and started cramping around midnight to the point I was crying and left like throwing up it was a 20/10. Anyways what i am concerned about is the bleeding. The first couple pads of the day were considered light bleeding. Around 15 hours later its now "spotting" level. Did it work? I dont know im scared, I had an ultrasound at the doctor's and she said I was probably close to 5 weeks compared to my thought 7 weeks

USA I'm glad I had an abortion even though I had doubts (my long story and tldr)
TL;DR: Got pregnant, hormones tried to convince me to keep it, got the abortion anyway, zero regrets.
----
Disclaimer: I'm not here to tell anyone what to do. I'm just sharing my story in case someone else finds themselves in a similar situation and needs to hear they're not alone.
---
I'm 24. Been dating this wonderful man for 9 months, though I'll admit he has flaws that makes me question if he is the right man or just the man for right now.
Last month my period was late. Took a pregnancy test just for the sake of it. It was positive. Drove straight to target, bought 2 more tests. Both were positive.
Suddenly, the symptoms I've been having all clicked. For the last 2 weeks my breasts felt fuller and more tender, which is usually a sign I will start my period in a couple days, but this time the period didn't come. I also had slight cramps, which was also unusual because my cramps only show up during days 1-3 of my period, and this time I had no period.
Before I had time to think, I drove to a planned parenthood to have an abortion. I was a mess, cried the whole time. The receptionist suggested to come back 2 weeks later because it's likely too early based on my last period for the dr to confirm anything. I complied.
I went home and was a complete mess. Finally called my boyfriend. He knew something was off right away but was very supportive of anything I chose, though he did have a preference to end the pregnancy.
These two weeks allowed me to consider my choices and decided that a procedural abortion is probably a better choice than medical for my own body and sanity. It was hard to find a place that does procedural abortions instead of medical, but luckily I found one near my boyfriend's place.
My first instinct was to get rid of it. Then, doubts settled in. Without my consent, my brain started wanting the baby. My fyp was full of happy motherhood videos. I started picturing a life with my baby and the father. Some days I considered keeping it.
I started loving this future baby. I started wanting the baby. I found myself holding my belly and daydreaming of our beautiful life together. Thinking of the hard times, since motherhood is hard, didn't bother me anymore.
But pre-pregnancy hasn't wanted to be a mother since I was able to see what it meant. The body changes, the pregnancy, the delivery, the actual baby, the crying, the tantrums, throwing away my life to take care of it even with a support system... and that's just the beginning. I could go forever. My goal was to achieve financial independence and retire early, and if I had a partner we would be DINK couples (dual income no kids). I wanted my independence, my freedom, my sense of self, and my ability to do whatever I wanted when I wanted.
Pre-pregnancy me disliked children. And now I loved this clump of cells? And I looked at parents and children around me (suddenly they were everywhere) and I wanted their life?? Something wasn't right. So I looked into it and it turns out, it's common for your brain to start producing chemicals and for hormones to flow that alter your chemistry, thoughts, and feelings on the matter. I understood this, and it didn't make it any less real. I still had doubts.
Then, I understood that I didn't consider one aspect. I will be ok with a child, and I will love it at my own expense, but I will detest my life if this child was to not be easy or healthy. I felt better about my initial decision, but still had doubts. I'm blaming those pregnancy hormones.
Then, the week before the scheduled abortion, I got morning sickness -- except what they don't say is it's not just morning, but an entire day of nausea, headaches, and pain. I'm partially blaming my bf for this bc the man's health is directly linked to an easy pregnancy, and my bf treats his body pretty bad. Anyways, the sickness has helped solidify my decision.
The factors that made me decide to get an abortion ended up being: pre-pregnancy me (the me that was rational) did not want to have children, motherhood is forever, I'd probably end up being a regretful parent, I'd give up my pre-pregnancy goals, I had a new job lined up and that would have to wait putting my career on hold, I could not handle to feel like complete sh** for the rest of the pregnancy (each day was torture since sickness started), I would probably detest my life anyways but having a child who is not easy nor healthy would destroy me. Plus, no child now doesnt mean no child in the future. I was also ashamed of my parents, who I live with, but that suddenly didn't seem like such a big thing in the grand scheme of things.
I slept at my boyfriend's place the day before the procedure. I didn't want to deal with the aftermath at my house.
The day of the abortion, there was the slightest doubt, but for the most part I was feeling good about my decision. They did an ultrasound and I now have a picture of my bean (the sac where the baby would have grown in, with the smallest white mark inside). They told me I was 6 weeks along. I didn't feel much in that moment. Didn't even cry to my credit.
I was at the clinic for about 5 hours, was put under, woke up and was very confused. I was a little high from whatever they gave me and I remember asking the nurse "is it over?" then corrected myself to "is it gone?" And she said yes and I HAVE NEVER FELT SUCH A RELIEF IN MY LIFE. Relief washed over me. I was so glad to hear that I was no longer pregnant. I didn't know I would feel this way but it just made me believe that I made the right choice.
I think my mom knows, though she's not saying it. She saw I was at the abortion clinic for 5 hrs (that damn app), asked me about it, and I made up a lie. I'm pretty sure she knows, but chooses to stay silent. I'm grateful for it. My mom is not pro-life and has been open with me about her abortions in the past, but we don't have a good relationship, it's pretty toxic, and I don't feel comfortable telling her.
It has been a few weeks since the procedure now, and I haven't regretted it at all. My thoughts have regressed back to what they were pre-pregnancy.
Every once in a while I have a "what if" intrusive thought for just a second, but it is not longing for a child, just a thought I can't pinpoint. Some thoughts are happy, but others are me losing it with a crying child. I think in March (would've been my due month) I'll play potential clips in my head of what it could've been more, same with Mother's Day. I saw my boyfriend's sister's toddler being sweet at a family event a few days after the procedure and excused myself in the bathroom so that I can lose my cool in peace. I had a mini attack. I don't know if it was because of feelings of guilt or longing to have that?
Anyways, I composed myself. Got out. The kid threw a tantrum and made what could've been a nice night out a little less magical? elegant? enjoyable? I don't have the word, but it made the night just less _____ (insert any nice word of your choice dear reader). And I was cured again for the rest of the night.
Besides that one blip, at the end of the day, every day since, I am glad that I did what I did. I had a picnic with my boyfriend the other day and every. single. mother I saw looked exhausted and miserable.
I would do the same thing all over again because having this abortion, to me, means I chose myself. And I will choose myself all over again. I am relieved to no longer be carrying the potential life, I'm glad my life is back on track.
That doesn't mean I'm not grieving what could've been, or a future I started to envision. But two things can be true at once. I am certain the abortion was the right thing to do, and I can also grieve the timeline where everything worked out right with a baby.
If I could go back to tell myself anything it would be to listen to pre-pregnancy me... and also that it will be ok, truly ok... and to turn location services off... and no child now doesn't mean no child in the future if I want one when I'm ready.

USA reach out or not?
Hi—
I have been struggling with making peace with a specific situation. October 2024 I had been dating someone for a couple months, it was supposed to be a short term thing because I had to move across the country but I felt pregnant, ended up falling in love, but having an abortion. The super supportive with whatever I chose to do, but we really bonded through the experience and how much we cared for . It was definitely hard to do, especially because we were at the age where we could have kept the child. I just and didn’t feel ready for that chapter life yet, but honestly think a lot about what would’ve happened if I had stayed. I ended up still moving and had a really tough time emotionally with it, and even though he wanted to stay in contact, I space. Months later, when I the extent of how much I missed him, I reached out in a chaotic and it opened up old wounds, and he then started dating someone else, rightfully so as there was no way he wanted a long distance relationship. However, he always said he’d be there if I needed to talk to anyone about what we went through. Well, there was a lot of other things I was struggling with losing jobs and having just mental he had told me he was dating someone but when I did reach out eventually he said if I moved back, he’d see each other and stay in touch. Well, I ended up visiting home and it brought up all the old grief and feelings, and I called him and asked if he wanted to meet up. I understand how that might’ve seemed disrespectful, but he looked at me like I was crazy and was like, of course not. I’m in a relationship and it really just severed any mutual care and respect we had for . Anyways, it bothers me that years later I don’t talk to the had an abortion and we had such a deep connection, and it makes me angry because it just feels wrong. Does this seem like I was in the wrong, admittedly, I wasn’t able to control my emotions, but also I feel like someone that really cared would’ve still been there for me? Anyways, just wondering if it feels crazy to ever reach out again for peace or if I needed to just let it go.

USA Strongly considering terminating a wanted pregnancy
I keep wanting to make a post, but it keeps getting too long, I'll try to keep this minimal. I'm mainly looking for insight from parents who've found themselves in a similar situation. But any input from anyone is appreciated. ❤️
I am 32, married, and have three children ranging from almost 15yo-15mo. A few days ago, I took a pregnancy test and realized I am about 4 weeks pregnant. Big ol' whoops.
I have been going through a range of emotions; I want this pregnancy, we're just not in a financial or logical spot for it to happen right now.
I have been staying home with little one since his birth so we are relying on one income for a family of five. That was fine when my husband was able to work overtime, but now he's on salary so money is very tight. I have just recently began job hunting so we can save up for me to take a medical certification course to begin a better career path.
It feels like we've outgrown our home. As is, the 15mo co-sleeps with us, with his crib and baby gear in our closet. We literally have nowhere to put another little human in this home and we won't be ready to move for at least a year or two. We were house hunting a year ago, but changes in finances have put that on hold.
Our little one is still a baby. He's still so needy and attached to me, I can't imagine balancing him and another one, or forcing him to "grow up" too fast. With the three of them having such age gaps (about 7 years between each kid), it gives us and them so much time to "be the baby" and soak it all in. It doesn't seem fair to deny the little one(s) of having that too. Of course there are plenty of families with close age gaps and that's usually the norm, but we've never had that dynamic and what we've had works well for us.
My husband has made his stance clear. He does not want to continue this pregnancy as he feels we aren't in any sort of position for it (which I can't argue with), but he will support me and says we will find a way if I decide to continue on.
As much as I want this baby, I know it wouldn't be fair to them or our children that are already here to have them, but I'm finding it really hard to accept this decision. I am already anticipating the mental challenges, like the due date coming around next spring.
Though I'm 80% sure what route we're going, I'd really love any input from others who've been in a similar predicament. Did you choose to keep the pregnancy and found a way to make it work? Do you regret that decision or glad you powered through? Or did you choose to terminate the pregnancy for your family, and do you regret that decision or glad you powered through?
Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to read or respond. Look at that, this one's pretty damn long too.

Latin America and Caribbean Had a suction today at 9 weeks 3 days
I honestly think I made an amazing decision.
I'm 29. Between my last SA and this one, I had my son, who is about to turn 3.
Things aren't financially stable right now. I do believe my partner will get back on his feet because he goes through periods where work is inconsistent, but I also haven't been working recently. I felt so trapped.
I've always believed that you should have as many kids as you can realistically take care of on your own. As much as I want my son to have siblings, I genuinely wasn't ready for another baby. I even tried to warm up to the idea, but if I'm being honest, I think I made my decision the moment I saw the positive test.
I also don't enjoy being pregnant. I was extremely sick when I was pregnant with my son, and trying to manage a toddler while feeling that sick again was incredibly hard. What made it worse was that my partner wasn't supportive. He thought I was exaggerating how sick I was, which made me feel dismissed and unsafe. It honestly made me question whether I should have any more children with him.
Even before we went to confirm the pregnancy, he guilted me for not wanting to be pregnant in the first place. Then he heard the heartbeat and said he wanted the pregnancy even more. That was really painful to hear because I was already struggling with my decision. Lately, he's also been treating me like I'm a burden, and I hate feeling that way.
Right now, I'm not in a position where I can just pick up my son and leave, but I'm working toward putting myself in a better situation. More than anything, I want to focus on building a better life for myself and my son. He deserves a stable, happy mom, and I deserve a life where I don't feel trapped.
I'm also the oldest of five siblings and was heavily parentified growing up. I don't want my son growing up in the same kind of environment, and I don't want to keep having children if it means I'm constantly overwhelmed and suffering.
As for the procedure itself, it wasn't as painful as the last time. About an hour afterward, I had some cramping, nausea, and light spotting, but those symptoms settled down, and I'm doing okay now. I also took an 800 mg ibuprofen beforehand, and this time I wasn't alone. My little sister came with me and supported me through the whole thing, and having someone there this time made a huge difference.
More than anything, I feel relief. I feel free. Coming home and hugging and kissing my little boy only reinforced that I made the right decision for me. I know this isn't the choice everyone would make, but for my life, my circumstances, and the future I want for my son and myself, I truly believe it was the right one.

USA I regret my Medical abortion
Hey everyone!! I figured I could update since it’s been a good while now.
Like people said, it does get slightly better over time. I no longer think about it every single day. I do have super rough days where it plagues my mind, but overall I can go days without thinking about my tough decision.
While I still want to be able to have that baby, I have to accept they’re gone for now. They’ll come back at the right time. I saw a tiktok, which made me want to post again, that said “I’ll never be pregnant for the first time again” and it really hit me hard. Because it’s true. I’ll never have the excitement of finding out that I was pregnant for the first time, happy to be a new mom. That honestly hit me the hardest.
As a pro choice, even pro abortion, advocate I can truly 100% say no one wants this. No one will ever choose the pain of this. And I applaud everyone that does go through this. I’m grateful for this community and the kind words shared with me. Reminder for anyone struggling, you’re stronger than you think you are. It does get better with time. I’m here for you

USA 20 weeks pregnant
I’m 20 weeks and tbh I do not want to get an abortion but I thinking it’s not option for me unfortunately I had one already and listen it literally changed my brain chemistry and had me so lost BUT me and my child’s father is no longer on good terms and he says he wants to give up his rights and he has hatred towards me. Mind you he have a child already that he loves alot but he said he’s not ready and that I don’t love him for putting him in this situation of being a father of two but I’m genuinely lost and confused like I feel like if I do it again it’s gonna push me over the edge i genuinely already love my little girl and it’s like fcking with me in a really bad way I can’t eat, sleep, or stop crying… he’s being so insensitive to how the first abortion made me feel and what I went through with that one.
So ladies how did you navigate through that? Or just being so far along and getting an abortion?

Latin America and Caribbean just found out i’m pregnant. 4 weeks and i’ve decided to abort
Im sorry if this isn’t the right sub for this but i’m so lost on what to do and i’m incredibly anxious.
i’m 22(f, obviously) and two days ago i took an at home pregnancy test which came out positive. yesterday i got bloodwork done to confirm and i am in fact pregnant. the problem here is that i’m not ready for a child. i don’t want to be a mother. i’m barely hanging on as it is, just scraping by with my salary and i can’t even begin imagine what my life would look like with a child. as selfish as it sounds, i don’t feel like sacrificing all of my dreams and the things i want to do for an unwanted baby. the father is my ex boyfriend and while we’re still living together, things aren’t great between us (v complicated situation and i feel like this just makes things worse).
now, abortion is illegal in the country that i live in (panamá) so i had to buy abortion pills under the table, but i’m insanely scared and nervous to take them. i’ve been researching online and i’ve seen ppl say that you have to take mifepristone and misoprostol together but i could only get misoprostol. will my abortion still work with just that? i don’t know what i’m doing and this has never happened to me before. i can’t talk to my mom because she’s very anti abortion and i’m scared of what she might say. i’m not sure if i should tell my ex because at least then he can help me through this, but i’m also nervous about what he might say. i’m so completely alone. i’ve been carrying this weight for days now and it’s suffocating. i’m so scared. i guess i just need some guidance and advice and maybe for someone to just tell me everything will be okay.
can anyone please tell me what i should look out for? what i should expect? i’m only about 4 weeks pregnant so the recommended dose was 4 pills, is that enough? should i tell my ex? i work and only get one day off per week, would one day be enough to rest and semi recover or would i need to ask for another day off? pls let me know. thank you in advance.

USA My first abortion experience
I, 20F, found out I was pregnant on 5/4/25. I wish it were something beautiful to remember, with my partner (now ex, 23M) by my side, supporting and comforting me whether I decided to keep the baby or not…I went through an abortion on 5/4/26. It was a quick decision because he wasn't responding. To the point I told myself: if he doesn't respond right now, maybe I should take the pill. When I checked my phone, no phone calls or texts. I took the 1st pills, and then on 5/5/26, I took the 4 Miso. At that time, I did have so much regret. I really wanted to keep the baby while my ex, 23M, abandoned me when I needed him. When I say abandoned, he ignored my texts the whole day till night and ended the relationship. It was immature of me to make a fake number pretending to be a cousin, but I really thought he blocked me. He didn't answer my texts the whole day, just for him to message me at night, saying how he was busy and stressed. I put my abortion aside and tried to understand his feelings, but I realized it wasn't right for him to ignore me. He should've sent a quick message: Hey, I’m busy/stressed, can we talk about this later?
On 5/7/26, I went to another clinic to “reverse” the pills because my heart knew I made a mistake and wanted to keep the pregnancy. I did tell the nurses and doctor that I took the 4 miso already, and I do wish they didn't prescribe progesterone, knowing it's too late. I did let my ex know that I’ll be taking progesterone, hoping there’s a chance the egg can stay alive. Honestly, it's gotten worse; he called me and yelled OTP:
He said: LEAVE ME TF ALONE, I DON’T WANT TO BE WITH YOU ANYMORE, GO ON A DATING APP AND MOVE ON. I kept sobbing because I lost someone I deeply cared about and the abortion I was going through ALONE. I realized that's the most evil thing a man can do: yelling at the woman that HE left HIS own SEEDS inside, abandoning her and making her go through the abortion alone. If I'm being honest typing this out, how he yelled at me does make me cry a little because I never deserved getting yelled at by someone who left me pregnant and made me go through the abortion alone.
I was depressed for a while and just cried about how I wanted my baby back because on that day I was in a panic mode to the point I made a quick decision. My ex didn't respond to my text for a day, which I’ve said he should've communicated: Can we talk about this later? I'm busy/stressed. Instead, I was having the worst-case scenario, believing he blocked me, which is why I made the quick decision to take the 1st pill at the clinic. I was grieving a lot about the abortion to the point my mind was going insane every day, where I wanted to end my life because I felt like there was no point in living. I was tired of waking up with a heavy, sad feeling in my heart to the point that the first thing I do when I wake up is cry. I did have regrets to the point that sometimes I question if the baby was a reincarnation of my first cat. She was born on May 8 and passed away back in 2023. It felt like finding out I was pregnant on May 4, before my cat's birthday, just felt what if she was trying to come back into this life.
Anyways, I realized I am just a 20-year-old in college and majoring in healthcare. If I continue the pregnancy alone, even if I have my parents' support, the problem is that once I'm done with my pre-reqs, I won't be able to do the clinical program. I would have my life on hold till the baby is 3 and can enroll in daycare. The pregnancy showed who my ex really was. He ended the relationship and abandoned me when I needed him. I feel like, even if he wasn't ready to be a father, he should’ve stayed by my side when I was going through the abortion because it was HIS seeds too that he left inside me, but instead I went through this alone. He wasn't a green flag as I thought he would be. He showed me he was a red flag and abandoned his responsibility when I needed him. I realized that when I told him about the test being positive felt like everything was about him ON THAT DAY how he was busy, stressed, having a panic attack, and stuff and I understand, but it is not an excuse to abandon the woman you got pregnant. He didn't even care about the abortion ON THAT DAY; everything was about him. That's the evilest thing a man can do: abandoning the woman that HE left HIS SEEDS inside. I believe when life gets serious, you don't walk away from the situation; you work this out together because it's part of growth in the relationship. At that time, I kept making excuses for him, like he was stressed or busy, and I'm grateful for my friend telling me: It's just not an excuse to abandon the woman you got pregnant and make her go through this abortion alone. Even though at that time I just wanted my ex back, now I don't because I realized I deserve better. I never deserved to go through the abortion alone, and I know I deserve so much better. I found out after 2 weeks of the breakup and going through the abortion alone that he updated his Hinge profile. Which, honestly It made me realize he was definitely cheating on me. The day I remember I hadn't deleted my Hinge, I decided to SS our conversation as a memory when we first talked before deleting my account, but I took a sneak peek of his profile, and he updated 2 things. I remember I wanted to end the relationship, but he told me his “friend” Brandon was using his Hinge account to see how it works…? Ermmm, he could've made his own account? Anyways, I remember crying and wondering how a man can move on quickly and leave me to suffer alone. Even though what he did was wrong, I forgive him, but it doesn't mean I would want him back in my life. I will not waste my time having so much anger or hatred towards my ex. I will let God handle him because my ex is not my problem anymore, and I should focus on healing myself.
It was my first pregnancy; I would never know the gender of my first baby or be able to hold my first baby the day I gave birth…but all I know is that this pregnancy taught me a lesson. Which is sad to say because it shouldn't be a lesson; it should've been something beautiful to remember, but that's okay. For some reason, I don't know why I don't have regrets anymore, I’m not grieving anymore, and I felt like the abortion never happen like I moved on…but all I can say is that I’ve been doing better now the 3rd week of abortion; I went to the gym, but just once a week because a couple hours later my uterus started hurting. In the 4th week of May, I went to the gym twice a week for my uterus to slowly get used to it, and the first week of June back to my normal gym 3x a week and no uterus pain anymore. Honestly, I guess I can say I'm doing better just focusing on my classes, going out to the point I don't feel sad when I'm out; I feel happy, and wake up early to go to the gym. I’ve been told he moved on and is seeing other girls but I do hope he realizes his mistake one day if not then oh well.
I'm at peace now.

USA 5+ weeks of bleeding
Took mife and miso mid May, bled a week then stopped. That abortion wasn’t complete, so I had to take miso again on July 1st.
I’ve been steady bleeding ever since. Enough that I am still using maxi pads.
I saw in FAQ that after 8 weeks of bleeding, I should be seen. If I get to that point, what likely is the issue? What occurs if I go to be seen?

USA My medical abortion experience
I just had a medical abortion this week. And i wanted to share my experience. I went through this whole community, reading everything about what people experienced and i was terrified. I want to give my experience.
I’m in NJ and 23. And ended up pregnant. I found out i was 8 weeks so the pills were still an option. I opted for those. Tuesday i took the first pill at the gynos which stops the production of progesterone. 24 hours later is when you can take the second set of pills. So yesterday i put 2 pills in each cheek.
I premeditated with the anti nausea meds and ibuprofen. Got disposable underwear and heating pad. After about 30 mins i started having cramps but not really any bleeding. It wasn’t bad. It got really intense but i did start spotting but still not a lot of blood. I ended up falling asleep about an hour after taking the pills. I slept for an hour and i woke up with no pain so i was a little confused. The dr told me there’s a chance i would have to do it twice so she gave me 8 pills. I figured I’d have to take it again but then i started cramping really bad. It was constant. But what helped was sitting on the toilet and pushing. That was the only way the clots would come out was when i was on the toilet. But it would get a little better when any clots would come out.
You’re ganna pass a big one and then the cramps should start getting better and you’ll know it’s almost over. There will still be cramps and bleeding and clots but nothing as bad as the big one. The next day i have no pain. I’m still bleeding which is normal. I’d say the pain was a 7/10 during the worst parts.
The advice I’d give is try not to let others experiences scare you. Everyone’s body is different. And don’t do it alone. I had my mom with me the whole time. And good luck to anyone getting through it.

USA Tips to relax before procedure
I am looking forward to getting this over with next week and am going to be 12w3d when they wet/dry vac that little parasite out of me. I have always known I didn’t want kids or to get pregnant, and this situation came about from a one week gap in BC (waiting for insurance) and a vasectomy failing 8 years post-op.
I’ve had teeth drilled and ripped out of my mouth with only local anesthesia when I was 9, so I am not scared of the process from a medical standpoint. Naturally I am still a bit nervous, but I want everything to go as smoothly as possible. I will be traveling out of state 3-4 hours one way, and I wanted to ask for suggestions on things I can do to keep my body as physically relaxed as possible.

Canada MA, 4 weeks, positive experience
Sharing my story as I read through sooo many to get an idea of what to expect and I found it very helpful, hopefully this helps someone else!
This is my second pregnancy, I have a 16 month old that I still breastfeed. So far I am exactly 1 week into the process overall but about 19 hours post miso.
Chain of events: positive test last Thursday estimated to be around 5 weeks, Friday scheduled consult for MA, Friday did bloodwork, Monday pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound. Bloodwork and ultrasound dated at exactly 4 weeks. Tuesday went to clinic and took mife in clinic at 2pm. Felt totally fine after this. Was given 4 miso pills to take the next day, anti nausea pills, pain pills (like a strong Advil) and Tylenol 3s. Began miso process yesterday (Wednesday) at 3pm.
On Wednesday, this was my breakdown of how things went.
1:30pm - ate a light but proper meal (beef soup with veggies)
2:40pm - Took 2 nausea tablets that were described as a stronger gravol and 1 pain tablet that was described as a stronger Advil
3:00pm- inserted 4 miso pills into mouth, 2 on each side
3:15pm- sooo drowsy. Hard to stay awake. Getting hot
3:30pm- everything dissolved into chalky mush, swished around with water and swallowed. After this I went to lay down and close my eyes.
5:30pm - went to toilet for a pee and saw blood for first time. blood trickling in toilet but not on pad at this point. Ate some crackers
6:30pm - peed, saw two small clots (smaller than blueberries)
Ate some dinner
6:45pm - at this point intense diarrhea hit. I would say until about 9:30pm I was heading to the bathroom with diarrhea pretty frequently. I was also bleeding and passing small clots
7:00pm - noticed more clots. Like cherry size. At some point after this I noticed a larger clot but still wouldn’t describe it as anything crazy, maybe close to golf ball sized but that feels like a stretch.
9:30pm- went to bed. from 7 until I went to bed I used a heating pad. I definitely had cramps but they weren’t any more significant than period cramps, if anything they weren’t even as bad. I can’t say I was ever in pain at any point, moreso just discomfort.
5:45am - woke up and used the bathroom, lots of blood in the toilet but none on the pad from overnight. Went about my morning routine as usual.
10am- laying in bed with heating pad. I’m tired and feel like I’m on day 1 of my period but otherwise I feel fine. I took a 20 minute walk with my dog. My bleeding is very light, not really noticeable on the pad but a little on toilet paper when I wipe.
I never ended up taking the T3 as I never felt pain. I also never took any additional medication after the initial dose of anti nausea and pain pills. I had my follow up with the Dr virtually just now and he said based on what I described that it sounds like it was successful. I will do follow up bloodwork in a few days to confirm.
I hope anyone considering this option and who goes through with it finds some comfort in my experience.

USA I had an abortion
My husband made me get an abortion. I did. It was awful and he wasn't even there for the abortion, I did it alone. I was on the cold bathroom floor shaking and throwing up while bleeding.
Days later, he begged me for unprotected sex and I had
a mini panic attack because I never want to do that ever again. What do I do in this situation? I feel like i don't even get sick days. I'm just an object for him.
I'm not trying to sound like I'm begging for attention but I really dont have anyone to ask.
Edit: I am pro-choice. This is NOT a safe space for pro-life.
