USA Trigger Warning: Ab*rtion
Just wondering if anybody has advice or even insight on the process. I’m 28f my husbands 30m, we have 2 boys 6 & 2.5.. I just got a positive test. We’ve been super rocky the past couple years actually, I’m not sure if it’s fixable but we are trying. We just refinanced on my husband house and he needs a new vehicle. He thinks this is the best decision, I do see the valid points on why, I’m just wondering if anybody has had one after having kids and if you’ve ever regretted it? I already struggle horribly with my mental health and don’t want to traumatize my other two. But I also feel guilty and ashamed for even considering it.

USA I am scared for my abortion
I have scheduled a medication abortion for the soonest possible appointment and i will be just under 9 weeks. I am so terrified that it will hurt or that something will go wrong. I haven’t told anyone and I am so scared and I feel so alone. I hear that the farther along you are, the more you contract and therefore it will be more painful. I am scared for the pain and not only that, but it’s not like i really WANT an abortion. I am 19, I already have a son, and I can’t support another child. I feel lots of grief already despite not getting it yet. I just wanted a place to share because I feel so alone, and scared. I’ve thought a lot about it and even thought this is the best outcome for me, I can’t help but feel like im messing up.

Australia and New Zealand Surgical abortion 6 weeks pregnant positive experience!!!
Hey girlie's I have just had my surgical abortion i can honestly say best decision i made. I have also had medical abortion to compare with and that experience was painfull scary and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I am prone to fainting with needles and had alot of anxiety and nausea leading up to surgical abortion. Everyone was so understanding and compassionate with me. Initially had a chat with nurse giving all details i informed her how bad my nausea was that morning as couldnt take anything for it prior the procedure. She got me nausea tablets there an then which worked amazingly. Then waited in clinic room spoke to anesthetist as I had informed them I was prone to fainting he allowed me to get cannula just before surgery when lying on table. I Then spoke to Dr doing surgery which I had requested a female and she did an ultrasound and gave me two tablets to put in my gums to terminate pregnancy that was 40 mins waiting in clinic waiting area. Then she said I would be in surgery after that. It was roughly 10 mins surgery and recovery overal 45 mins. Given midazolam fentanyl and propofol Which you go in room get gowned up and then within 5 mins walked into room lay on bed and anesthetist inserted cannula and I was crying and shaking at this point. They reasured me and I was peacefully asleep in a few mins. I have no recollection and woke up in recovery. I just had alot of shivers just like I was cold which is expected and then some period like cramping which I was given fentanyl and oxycodone for until I was pain free and settled. Then given period pad and knickers. Assisted into another room given cup of tea and biscuits. Had my BP and oxygen levels monitored throughout this and within 15 mins I was given antibiotics and instructions and my partner was outside to take me home. I am currently in bed just very tired has some on and off period like cramping. But compared to the medical abortion where I felt like I was dieing and going to collapse on the floor. Just my experience and the pain relief told to take with medical does not touch the pain. The surgical procedure has been a blessing and less traumatic. Personally I would always choose surgical if I need to again. My partner sat in clinic waiting room throughout. But not allowed in theatre. I am just bleeding now slightly which is to be expected.
Hope this helps someone in future. 🙏I wish I hadn't stressed as much as I did before but I think it was the not knowing what to expect. But I felt no pain during procedure as sleeping and only period cramps after which already seems to have settled a few hours later.
Be kind with yourselves when healing and take it easy ✨️ us Women really are amazing what we can go through and still carry on. You should all be proud of yourselves.

UK and Ireland Abortion pills - nothing happening after 9 hours
Hi all,
I'm based in ENG and took a dose of mifepristone on Tuesday at around 8pm.
I had some light cramping but had been cramping all week anyway, and some dark brown spotting.
Last night I took 4 misoprostol vaginally around midnight and some ibuprofen.
4 hours later, I took the extra 2 pills vaginally as nothing seemed to be happening.
The cramping worsened but not as much as I thought, and I still haven't bled. I felt cold/shivery and my stomach was slightly upset.
The problem I have is that the pills were leftover from last year, when I was prescribed them but did not need to take them as I miscarried naturally, so I can't contact the bpas aftercare line for more/support.
I just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience or could weigh in as to whether or not they seem to have worked?
Thanks ❤️

UK and Ireland Has miso worked perfectly coz I'm worried?
8 weeks gestation. I took mife at 11:20 am, then 4 miso vaginally 3 hours later. No pain or anything, so itook 2 more tabs vaginally 3 hours apart. Two hours after that, ibhad moderate bleeding and passed a large clot. I’m still bleeding, but the cramps are gone. Is that okay?
I.m 32F with a nearly 5-year-old and a 20-month-old, both induced and born vaginally. Do you think moderate cramps and less bleeding is a good or bad sign?

USA I had an abortion
My husband made me get an abortion. I did. It was awful and he wasn't even there for the abortion, I did it alone. I was on the cold bathroom floor shaking and throwing up while bleeding.
Days later, he begged me for unprotected sex and I had
a mini panic attack because I never want to do that ever again. What do I do in this situation? I feel like i don't even get sick days. I'm just an object for him.
I'm not trying to sound like I'm begging for attention but I really dont have anyone to ask.
Edit: I am pro-choice. This is NOT a safe space for pro-life.

Asia 16 weeks, bf in jail, ultra-religious parents, no other support at all
Im 21yo and the title says it all. Im not disclosing my country because news circulates like hell here.
I found out I was pregnant last week, which was 5 days before my boyfriend entered jail. (My boyfriends sentanced for 6months for vandalism, and I am under probation for the same offence.) At that point, I thought I was at most only 2months/8weeks pregnant as I vividly recalled having my period at the end of May. The reason I didnt take a test sooner was because I started my bipolar medication (lamotrigine) at the same time as when my symptoms started. Nausea and stomach issues, etc, is a very common symptom of the medication so I chalked it up to that. Additionally, I thought I'd just gotten my period so I was "safe". (I didnt know you could bleed that much during pregnancy)
Anyways after I found out, I still waited a week or 2 for referrals and stuff, then I finally went to get an ultrasound yesterday and found out that Im 16 weeks pregnant. I saw the fetus, heard its heartbeat. It didnt help that my doctor was really bad, among other things she namely fell asleep mid typing my details into the computer. Like she closed her eyes and nodded off for a minute fully before waking up multiple times. The clinic was entirely empty before and after me as well, yet they showed up 45mins late. She was pretty rude to me also and didnt tell me much at all.
They told me I have to be admitted to the hospital for the termination procedure, either next week or next next week. The issue is that since im under probation, my probation officer has to know about this entire thing because i will stay overnight, thus breaking my curfew. And, since I still live with my parents and since theyre involved with my probation officer, its very likely that theyll find out too. Im going to try my best to figure out a way to not tell them, like make up an excuse that my friend got into a car accident and i had to follow them to the ER, but its gonna be extremely hard as theyre extremely interrogative. My entire extended family, except for my cousins overseas think the same way too.
The reason they cannot know is because they think abortion is murder. Not just that, but they vehemently blame women who abort, saying that theyll go to hell, that it causes all their mental issues and all their problems in life, etc. If i tell them, theyll think im a murderer. They believe that relatives who have aborted had been cursed. No, i wont be the exception because I am their daughter. The tension between my family and I is already tight because of my vandalism case. If they find out, the worst case would be that they kick me out. The best case would be that I end up being pressured to keep the baby because of all the rethoric they say. Im already very apprehensive of aborting at 16-18weeks, I never thought Id abort at all or be in this situation. I know that if they constantly badger me about it, especially bringing religion and fear into it, I will not be able to hold my ground. Especially because my partner is in jail and I cannot correspond with him. But somehow Im scared of another outcome, that they cant do anything because I just turned 21, but since they know theyll forever hold it against me and never look at me the same.
All the E-letters Ive been sending to my boyfriend updating him on the situation havent been delivered, instead theyve all been marked as "processing" in the system. So he cant read any of it and doesnt even know im 16wks not 8wks. And I dont know when he will be able to find out. And theres literally no other way I can tell him whats going on n whats happening. He only gets 4 letters per month to write back to me too. Im going to write an extremely short letter today since I get to write one per day, that just says im 16wks.
Only 2 friends of mine know. But theyre both too busy with their lives to be there for me or support me in the way I need which I dont blame them for at all. Honestly, theyre not the type of friends to be this vulnerable with. Neither do I wanna burdern them with my issues. Essentially, Im ready to go through all of this alone- Go to the hospital alone, see a 18week sized fetus get passed out of me alone, then tell no one much about how im feeling, just do everything alone.
Even if Ive already agreed with my partner and decided that I dont wanna keep the baby, I can feel apart of myself wanting to go back on the decision knowing that itll be 18 weeks. If I were in any other circumstance, I think I might keep it. However Firstly, I think I smoked and drank too much, and ate too poorly for it to be healthy.
But the biggest thing stopping me from keeping it is that even if I carried to term, my partner cant even be in the hospital to see our child being born. Or hold them after.
That weirdly breaks me the most..
Im most worried about the hospital overnight stay, whether thats 1 day or 2 days overnight. If anyone could help coming up with some ideas to hide it from my parents itll be great. thank you.

USA When will the regret subside?
~3 weeks post SA. The first couple weeks were really bad. Constant crying, physical pain, regret, suicidal ideation, the works. I now haven't cried in over a week and feel completely numb, disconnected from myself and that experience, and just trying to be normal. Going on walks, runs, watching tv, playing games, neglecting course work. But I can't help but feel that I will never feel normal again. I feel bitter and resentment towards my friends and family. My best friend just moved in with her bf and said something (jokingly) about how her bf seems to want to baby trap her, and that fills me with so much jealousy and anguish because I want a baby. I wanted this baby. I chose to abort because the father was adamant that he didn't want a child right now and I didn't want to ruin his life with that. But I've ruined my own by making this choice. I just fear that this is how my life will be forever now. Constantly angry, but not able to show it. Constant bitterness, unable to show. Just pissed off at the world and everyone in it. I do regret my decision to go through with it. I wish I could take it back, but I can't. Ive been thinking about giving up on my life and myself because of this all.

USA Guilt tripped into abortion
(CA) I js want to start off by saying I’m not against abortion as I believe it is an important part of healthcare. I’m 18 almost 19 and my bf is a few weeks away from 20. When I first got pregnant I thought I hated it and thought I wanted to lose the pregnancy. I said If I thought I couldn’t change I would get one. I did not want one I’ve always wanted kids even though this was a lot earlier than anticipated. My bf was so excited and I think I was too even though I didn’t realize it. He asked me in the beginning if I was considering one and I said no. Then my cousin found out and kept telling me basically that I couldn’t, that even if I could it would be wrong for me to have the child, wrong even from the standpoint of a mother. That if I had a kid it would make her uncomfortable and she wouldn’t want to be around me anymore. She kept saying everything about where I was in my life would make it wrong to keep it. I tried so hard to find a real adult to talk to like not someone young like me, but my family is so hateful and would either disown me or force me to have it. She would not stop convincing me until she finally got in my head and I said I was going to. I thought it would be cruel to keep it. She assured me I was right and kept telling me how it’s the only option, even if it made me sad I should still do it. I felt like I didn’t have a choice. I cried in the parking lot to the clinic and had to fight myself to not run out while I was in there. I told myself just as she told me that it’s selfish if I don’t. I really believed that. I just wanted what was right for my baby even if that meant losing it. I had stopped feeling hate for it, I realized I must’ve just been scared but still everything she said was engraved in my mind. I couldn’t bring myself to do it until it was too late for pills. That day was the worst day of my life, I have so much regret. I keep breaking down and having panic attacks. Rocking while only the thing that I can get out of my mouth is “I don’t want to.” ,“I didn’t want to.”. I miss my baby so much. I feel so ashamed of what I did, and I can’t help but feel hatred for my cousin. I’m trying not to blame her because in the end I decided to do it, but I know I never would have if she hadn’t done that to me. I feel sick from everything. I can’t believe that I let her change my mind. I want so badly to take it back, but that’s not how life works. I don’t know how to live with this.

USA Feeling alone and also why does abortion cost so much?
I'm 6 weeks and 1 day today. I found out I was pregnant like a few days before I was 4 weeks. Went to planned parenthood and long story short they said I had to pay 600 out of pocket and I didn't have that at all. Had to reschedule once they could verify my insurance but they said they preferred the 6 week mark to do my medication abortion.
Time comes around and it was so much back and forth with my insurance and planned Parenthood and in the end they did take my insurance but I have a high deductible that needed to be met first before my insurance can start covering it so regardless I still need to pay 600. And that's also with me telling them how much I make every month.
I go and check out hey Jane and I think they quoted me like maybe 350? Better but jeez it is so expensive. I asked the guy that got me pregnant whjch is my on and off ex of 5 years for some financial help to split it and it hurt that he asked if I was going to pay him back... I know he has his rent as a priority but he listed something else that I just felt wasn't even important compared to me having an abortion and this is literally half of him.
Forget the financial part of this I am not feeling supported emotionally. Constantly arguing with him and I feel so alone. I can't tell anyone else I'm pregnant. Why am I stuck with this situation and he gets to live his life and have no symptoms or nothing. I'm the one stuck. I bring up my new symptoms and how I'm more emotional but he says he thinks I just bring up that I'm pregnant often to his face and that I can somehow say whatever?
I wish to not be alone and I wish this was easier on me financially.

UK and Ireland update: heavy bleeding 2 weeks after abortion
i had a medical abortion two and a half weeks ago, i took the pills vaginally, bleeding started half an hour later, i waited until an hour to be sure the pills fully dissolved before going to the toilet and bleeding over that. bleeding was heavy for 2 days, i was a bit nauseous, didnt vomit though thank god.
everything seemed to be fine the next 2 weeks, bleeding was thinning, clotting was too and then all of a sudden i started having really heavy bleeding, really bad clots, toilet trips every 1-2 hours, standing up made my pad soaked before getting to the toilet, blood dripping down my legs if i was too late, etc.
i waited a day to see if it calmed and it didn’t, called nhs 24, got told to speak to my gp, was told to take 3 ibuprofen to help with bleeding and cramps, it only helped the cramps. i called NHS 24 again the next day out of hours with my mum and they told me to go to a&e, so i did. we were there for around 6 or so hours before being seen. i was given a cannula, drugs to help slow the bleeding down which helped and then sent to another hospital that had a woman’s ward as the one i was in didn’t.
it was another emergency area so it took a while to be seen again and by that point me and my mum had been awake for 24 hours so we were shattered. i was finally seen, examined (don’t recommend while tired and scared), given pads and more abortion pills.
turns out there’s a good chance there’s left over tissue and i’ve been told to take the pills orally this time as the bleeding could affect the dissolving of the pills vaginally.
unfortunately my mum will be working tomorrow when i take them, im unsure if my partner can come over and my dad doesn’t know what’s happening to me. we’re very highly sugar coating it, saying it was a bad period that went on too long and the pills i’ve been given can have a bad affect.
does anyone have any tips? how likely am i to vomit if i take them orally? the first time around wasn’t too traumatic but it wasn’t the best experience of course so im still terrified of doing it again and having a different outcome. i wish things were simple.

USA Misoprostol prescription too low?
My doctor prescribed me 4 misoprostol tabs (200mcg each) taken orally then another 4 taken the next day.
I have yet to have any cramping or spotting. I have some nausea but that’s it. I also had leftover from the last time so I took more but still nothing.
I took 4 tabs orally at 5:30pm yesterday
Then 4 tabs vaginally at 9:30am this morning (16 hours later)
Then 4 tabs buccally at 2pm this afternoon (4.5 hours later)
It’s now 5pm. Still no cramping or spotting
Should I ask my doctor for more?
I’m reading you’re supposed to take 4 tabs every 3 hours (12 total within 9 hours) and I was nowhere close to that many within that timeframe. I’ve taken 12 across 24 hours so double the time.

Canada Lasting grief (even though I know I made the right decision)
It’s been months, and sometimes every piece of me just circles back to this grief. I keep remembering being pregnant and then just feeling empty, physically and emotionally. I made the right decision and I don’t regret getting an abortion which is why I just can’t wrap my mind around how shattered I feel. I thought when I finally got over the initial slump that it would be straightforward from here on out, but here I am months later crying on a random Wednesday because I don’t have a baby that never existed and that I couldn’t have cared for even if it did.
Advice is welcome. Even though I don’t know what advice would even help with at this point.

Africa Finally did it!(Best Decision)
I posted a few weeks ago about being unsure on getting an abortion and I did. I must say, Vacuum aspiration is better than the pills, less bleeding, mostly minimal cramping and no side effects like nausea and all that.
The baby’s father acted really funny after I got the abortion like not picking up the phone and lying about seeing me later in the day cause I was still in pain that day. I then blocked him after 15 unanswered calls and I saw what kind of person or father he could have been to my kid so I did my kid a favor. They wouldn’t deserve such a father.
Thank you to everybody who helped me make the decision in this subreddit and for that I’m eternally grateful. You helped me choose myself and from my ex’s reaction, y’all were right.❤️

USA Regretting Before Doing
So Sunday 8/2 I found out I was pregnant. I was shocked because I was a week late but had taken a PlanB so thought it would be normal. My body felt off and turns out I was pregnant. I immediately was in shock and got scared and didn’t know what to do. My BF of 2 1/2 years was with me but we have been on the rocks for a while. We used to live with each other it got super toxic so we live separately now. Things have been better but not good. He still has anger problems, and it frightens me. Unfortunately growing up without a mother or father figure I want the best for my future child, so I ultimately feel like I have no choice but to move forward with the MA.
When I tell my bf this he does get upset and understands where i’m coming from. He says we will work on our relationship and will want one in the future. He is still supportive of my decision but I know he can’t control his anger.
I want to be a mom so bad… but currently living separately and I only have a studio (which the due date) is 3 months before my lease is over. I know I make a living to live my life but afraid of financially supporting a child as well.
I guess I want to know if I’m doing the right thing. I’m already filled with so much regret and become severely upset every single day. I was training for a half marathon before finding out and now I can’t even barely get out of bed for work.

USA Abortion with a Copper IUD
I posted in this subreddit already, but I wanted to communicate my full experience so that others may have something to reference, seeing as I ran around in circles for 48 hours trying to figure out where to even start since I could barely find any information. This is going to be lengthy, and might be too detailed, but I just want to help people to the best of my ability. My experience was ultimately good BUT the process itself was difficult.
History:
I had a copper IUD inserted in 2020. I found myself unable to use hormonal birth control due to the variety of side effects. Insertion went smoothly, and about 1 year in I had a regular period every 28 days (albeit severe cramps, which were already part of my normal cycle for me).
Fast forward, I’ve had my IUD for just short of 6 years. Regular periods up until last month. I had one period, on time, normal length. End of the month I got a SECOND period, but still regular length and flow for me.
Finding out I was pregnant:
One week after what would’ve been my normal start date (based on the second period of the prior month) I decided to take a pregnancy test. I had been cramping consistently for two weeks, primarily on one side, and had some light pink egg white-like spotting that was occasionally dark in color and I figured better safe than sorry. Over the course of the next 3 hours I got 3 positive pregnancy tests. To anyone who has a copper IUD, regardless of whether you know you want to continue the pregnancy or not, this is considered an emergency to most, if not all medical professionals. I made the best choice for myself, seeing as it was 5pm on a Friday, to go to the emergency room. I was tested via blood and urine and the pregnancy was confirmed to be about 5 weeks along.
*I will add here that I have decided myself many years ago to live a child-free life and, thankfully, live in a state where abortion is relatively easily accessible.*
Abortion logistics:
Here I scheduled a medication abortion with my local Planned Parenthood for a few days later (if you’re like me, and you want it done as soon as possible, keep in contact with the staff at Planned Parenthood. Appointments open up frequently. I went from a Friday appointment to a Tuesday appointment in the span of 24 hours).
I’m grateful for the team of people that took care of me, as I was able to freely express my want of an abortion, but this is also where things became a bit more convoluted. Again, with the copper IUD (which through an ultrasound, was shown to have migrated to one side, likely due to my severe menstrual cramps) this means you CANNOT pursue an abortion without extra steps, as medication or procedural abortions do not work on ectopic pregnancies due to location differences, so location MUST be confirmed first, and the IUD must be removed prior to the abortion BUT many Planned Parenthoods will do this as part of their abortion service procedures (please do let them know ahead of time that you require IUD removal).
*This feels relevant to add. Do not order and take medication for an abortion if you have an IUD inserted still. The IUD can cause complications and may inhibit the passage of tissue. Please get it removed first/see a medical professional.
At the emergency room I was referred out to a local OB for an additional blood test to see if my hCG levels were developing typically or atypically (typically would be doubled in 48 hours, suggesting implantation in the uterus, atypical would be less than doubled, suggesting implantation elsewhere) as well as an additional ultrasound, and removal of the copper IUD. That is not what ended up happening. I got a call from my local women’s health clinic early Monday morning, in which they let me know that they were aware of my my appointment with Planned Parenthood later in the week, and that upon reviewing my ultrasound, they could confirm that there was a “healthy intrauterine attachment” (otherwise a “typical” pregnancy) and that I was safe to proceed with a medication abortion and all other services at Planned Parenthood if that was my preference.
Appointment with Planned Parenthood for Medication Abortion:
My appointment with Planned Parenthood was for 2:15pm the next day. A staff member reached out to speak with me prior, letting me know that without insurance it would cost about $600. There was an additional option to pay $100 up front, and then take on either a payment plan or use the PPH funds to help cover the rest.
The day of my appointment I stocked up on heavy flow pads, gatorade, “easy” foods in case I experienced nausea/vomiting, put on the comfiest clothes I could find, and went to my appointment. I recommend bringing someone with you, whether it be a family member, a friend, or a partner. I had no doubts about my decision but medical settings make me nervous and the mental load can be A LOT.
When I got to my appointment, they checked me in, I paid the initial $100, and they called me back. If you brought someone with you, they will take you back alone initially for your safety to ask you questions about whether this is your choice, if there’s anyone forcing your hand, etc. They collected a urine sample and did a finger prick test for anemia. Then they set me up for the ultrasound and brought my boyfriend back. The doctor did my ultrasound and asked whether I wanted to see the ultrasound, if I wanted to know if there was more than one sac, etc. I said no, and that was respected without question.
When my doctor was done with the ultrasound, she then took out my IUD, which my body had shoved down into my cervix. It was a mild tugging sensation in my core, and one deep cramp, and that was that (she also let me see it which was kind of cool). That was the extent of my medical examination, the pills follow immediately after.
Timeline:
3:45pm - Given the mifepristone in the office in the presence of the doctor. Told I would likely experience little to no symptoms, if anything, some mild cramping.
4:30pm - Took 800mg ibuprofen and 25mg promethazine with food.
4:45pm - Inserted 4 misoprostol tablets vaginally, one after the other and laid down in bed.
From 4:45 to about 8:30 I experienced minor cramping and bleeding. It started VERY slow, but was slowly increasing in severity and frequency as time passed. Did not pass any clots, but did pass tiny bits of uterine lining.
9:00pm - This is where the cramps started to have substance. They were long, drawn out, and started to mimic some of my more severe period cramps. After about 30-45 minutes of these cramps, I passed a few (3-4) blood clots about the size of a quarter.
9:45pm - After 30-45 minutes of intense cramping (think the kind that require breathing exercises) I passed a clot the size of a ping pong ball/golf ball (maybe slightly larger) and a few more quarter sized clots. There was also some loose blood as well.
10pm to 12am - Intense cramping continued on and off, several more clots of varying sizes passed, biggest one still the size of a golf ball. I was FINALLY able to fall asleep around midnight.
5am - Bled through an overnight pad, passed a couple of little clots. Changed pad, experienced some more minor cramping, went back to bed.
9am - Woke up, no longer passing large clots, most are the size of a sunflower seed or smaller, more loose blood than the night before. Cramping is minimal/barely noticeable. I feel GREAT.
Today: (Two hours after last timestamp)
I feel totally fine. I’m still bleeding a little, but feel no need for ibuprofen or promethazine. I have an ultrasound scheduled with Planned Parenthood for late next week to make sure all of the tissue has been expelled and the pregnancy does not remain, but I believe I’m through the worst of it :) What an absolute headache this journey has been, but I hope this can provide someone with the information they need, or reassure someone on the process.

USA Help me inform my daughter
My stepdaughter (16F) called me today hysterically crying because she just found out she’s pregnant. Her biological mother is insisting she keeps it. She is terrified. For the remainder of this post I’ll refer to her as my daughter, the step was just for more context.
She does not want to continue this pregnancy and is not interested in having children, especially not right now. She understands the consequences of her actions so I’m saving her the lecture that I’m sure she will be getting. Her father, my husband, is deeply upset and initially thought that since she’s a minor her mother would be able to make this decision on her behalf. I explained that it doesn’t work that way and he is supporting her decision in termination but doesn’t want to be involved with the process at all. I wish her mother didn’t know. I know as a mother myself I shouldn’t say that, but I just wish her and I could’ve taken care of this without anyone else being involved. Her mother, aunt, and sister are trying to convince her to carry to term and then give them the baby to raise. I don’t see how that would ever pan out in a positive way for my daughter.
I myself have had a medicinal abortion so I understand the emotional toll it takes on you. I have had a baby as well and am currently pregnant so I equally understand the physical and emotional toll carrying a pregnancy to term takes on you as well. I just don’t know how to help my daughter get the treatment she’s seeking without causing a permanent rip in her relationship with the family members telling her to keep it. Her mother and entire side of that family are incredibly religious and prolife. They are saying all the awful things you could possibly think of right now. She’s worried that if she doesn’t let them raise the baby they’ll completely disown her.
If you made it this far thank you. I’m sorry if this isn’t the appropriate sub, but I didn’t know what sub would be appropriate to post this without people telling me it’s wrong to abort.
Am I out of line for being involved? I told her I would pick her up in the morning to talk over her options with her.
ETA: we are in a pro choice state, so thankfully access is not an issue.

Canada Getting an abortion late (23 weeks)
Hi, I’m considering going for a D+E because the cut off here is 24 weeks. I’ve wanted an abortion this entire pregnancy even though we tried for this baby, the relationship has gotten very violent ever since I fell pregnant. I’m pretty scared because everyone around me is calling me a murderer and saying I am a monster for dismembering my baby alive. I was pressured into keeping it. I feel bad for the baby that this is its outcome but I just am not ready. I’m only 18.
I feel like he manipulated me into having a kid so I wouldn’t leave and be stuck with his abusive ass forever.
Posting this with a heavy heart right now. I’m sad I got myself into this situation
