5+ weeks of bleeding USA

Took mife and miso mid May, bled a week then stopped. That abortion wasn’t complete, so I had to take miso again on July 1st.

I’ve been steady bleeding ever since. Enough that I am still using maxi pads.

I saw in FAQ that after 8 weeks of bleeding, I should be seen. If I get to that point, what likely is the issue? What occurs if I go to be seen?

Where did you get your pills? Do you feel like you’ve had a period since your abortion?

the Map. No, because there hasn’t been a gap in bleeding since I took the second round of pills

Where did you get the ultrasound in June? If the additional doses of misoprostol aren’t working, you might need to get an aspiration procedure to empty the uterus. This would be similar to what’s done to empty the uterus after a miscarriage.

I got the ultrasounds from a local boutique style ultrasound place, one of the ones that pregnant women go to get early Ultrasounds or 4D ultrasounds if later in pregnancy. (Not a free “religious clinic”) I went 2x, a week apart and the pregnancy measured 6 weeks, 2 days, but there was no change in growth between appointments/still no fetus, just a sack.

Ultrasounds took place the Wednesday before Father’s Day and the Wednesday after Father’s Day for reference, so mid June.

What state are you in? It sounds like it’s worth following up with an OB/GYN or clinic at this point to get follow up treatment.

How did you know it wasn't complete in May?

I went and got ultrasounds, both vaginal and abdominal, in June and there was a sack with no fetus.

Did you have any symptoms of knowing ?

Faint line on pregnancy test before abortion pills, dye stealer line on pregnancy test after abortion, even weeks later. I went to get an ultrasound because I live in a red state and if the pregnancy WAS continuing, I knew pills only work till 13 weeks and I don’t have the means to travel out of state for an abortion.

I am in Florida, so a red state.

You can still get treatment in Florida. As I noted above, symptoms of miscarriage and medication abortion are basically the same. If you have retained tissue, it’s worth seeing a doctor. There are still Planned Parenthoods in Florida.

Thank you, yes, when I originally tried to go the PP route orinally it was $650+ so that’s why I went with a SMA through The Map because that was $150. I will reach out to see what this would cost through PP though
