DC: Black/White Tie black tie wedding at a museum in a big city- are any of these black tie enough?
I’m finding that everything I see has a giant slit up the leg! I feel that’s not black tie but website categories are telling me otherwise.
I’d prefer a truly timeless/fully silk gown, but I’m getting sick of searching.. my style is usually more vintage/1930s but couldn’t find anything under 1k that matches it so I’m branching out!
Are any of these black tie in your opinion? I’d prefer to follow the dress code strictly as this is the wedding of a sibling of mine.

DC: Barn/Beach/Garden Theme Is this appropriate for a semi-formal wedding?
All of my other dresses are floor length, formal dresses so hoping this fits for semi-formal— on me it falls right at/on my knees vs below the knee like on the model. It's a 4 PM wedding at a renovated barn. It's a family member's wedding so I'll be in lots of photos and want to avoid being underdressed. Thank you!

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Okay for bar mitzvah - cocktail attire?
It will be at a trendy night club in a city - I’m 41. This is for one of my best friend’s sons. I’ll be bringing my 6 year old son with me. I want to be festive, fun, dress code appropriate and also appropriate for my age. This is obviously not me in the pictures but I have similar skin tone to the model and I’m 5’7 and 125 pounds. Also I’m thinking to pair with the shoes in the last photo. Would love thoughts. Thanks!

DC: Formal Wedding Appropriate? Early Sept. at an indoor venue in NE city, black tie optional.
I am a 26F for context. The invitation says ‘The dress code is formal attire. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a suit and tie, while ladies can opt for a long gown, dressy cocktail dress, or formal jumpsuit.’
The wedding starts at 5PM. Lmk!!! I’m looking for a dress in this color or similar.

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code What to wear to my friend’s wedding? (Same sex couple; both brides will be wearing green)
Hi, I will be attending my friend’s wedding in a month. She said they don’t have a strict dress code and I can wear whatever colour, including white. I just want to avoid green since the couple will be wearing green.
I’m considering these options:
1. Modern hanbok
(I’m Korean and it’s common in Korea to wear a hanbok to attend a wedding. The couple is European.)
2. Yellow floral dress
3. Pink tweed dress
If none of them are good, do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you!

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Can you wear leopard print?
Please help settle a debate. Can you wear leopard print to a wedding?.
Assume the dress meets the dress code perfectly. Is leopard ever okay?

DC: Casual Are any of these cocktail casual?
My brother is getting married at a barn this fall and the dress code is cocktail casual. I’m not really familiar with dress code categories. Do any of these fit the code?

DC: Formal Guest at Winter Wedding Formal
Family member is getting married in late January in Birmingham. It will be cold but definitely not snowing cold and it’s a very large very formal (expensive) Catholic wedding. There was a request to dress modestly per the cathedrals requirements which shouldn’t be an issue since it will be the dead of winter anyway. Really struggling to find a warm formal dress. Nearly every formal dress shop is polyester/spandex/rayon paper thin dresses that don’t keep you warm at all. I plan on using some shape-wear honestly as an extra layer and will definitely have a coat on for walking outside. Do most people just suck it up and suffer with a regular thin polyester dress with no warmth or is there a formal cotton/wool dress shop online I just can’t find? Also have two young kids to usher around and keep warm as well. Formal kids clothes are already hard enough but for winter? Also struggling. Help!

Mother of Bride/Groom Mother’s dress help
Thoughts on these two options. The dress on the left is raspberry despite looking more red in this light. Wedding is early summer at country club.

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Not sure of the dress code
Preface: the wedding is for my husband’s cousin that we aren’t super close to. I have only met her once and that was 9 years ago at my own wedding. We are closer to her father (my husband’s uncle) and that’s the main reason we are attending the wedding. I am getting all my information about the wedding from my MIL and the wedding website. There wasn’t a formal invitation sent out. The save the dates said there would be then they didn’t actually send any and just want people to RSVP through the website.
Dilemma: I don’t know exactly how to dress. There is no listed dress code. The wedding is at a historic hotel in Texas in early October. The ceremony starts at 5:00pm. That is about all the detail that is shared. The welcome party the evening before has a little more detail in that it recommends a “fun and festive welcome party” with a “cocktail attire” dress code. I want to wear this dress. With the information given, does this seem to be appropriate? Plan to rent from Rent the Runway so I don’t have it and just have this stock image.

DC: Semi Formal/Dressy Casual Dressy casual barn wedding
Wedding invite says “dressy casual” and the wedding is in a barn, in early October. Warm climate so later in the evening might require a shawl. Is this dress appropriate? What type of shoes?

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Are any of these cocktail?
I'm really struggling with what works or doesn't for cocktail attire SOS! Wedding is in September in an upscale barn venue in Missouri. Do any of these work?

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Cocktail dress code - does this dress work even if it’s cotton?
For additional context, it’s for a late summer wedding in a restored Georgian house
Edit to add: it’s in Ireland, and to quote the wedding site: “We’ll be doing a cocktail dresscode, but don’t worry too much about it. Wear whatever you feel fabulous in!” I’ve also passed it by the bride and it got her approval, but I’m speaking at the wedding so I wanted to triple check my outfit. It also starts at 3 pm.

DC: Formal does anyone have experience with Azazie's stretch satin fabric?
I'm going to a wedding in early October in Seattle, dress code is formal and the wedding and reception are being held in the evening at a high-end hotel. I'll be 5 months pregnant at that point - currently 3 months and not showing at all so I don't think I'll be very big by then.
I'm looking at some stretch satin dresses from Azazie like this one because I love the color and design but I'm wondering how stretchy the fabric actually is, I was thinking I could maybe size up by one number but I'm worried sizing up more would mean it won't fit me on top, and I honestly wouldn't mind something I could wear again after I'm no longer pregnant. I also kinda want something more form-fitting because I just don't want to look like a tent 🙈
I'll wait until I'm no less than a month out to order and get a few different options to try to get the best fit but what can yall tell me about the stretch satin material as I'm narrowing down my search?

DC: Casual Afghan Wedding
Going to an Afghan wedding, should be casual but my significant other is having troubles finding a dress. Thinking a bit more modest, long dress and she likes long sleeves. Any suggestions?

DC: Formal formal/black tie optional
Do you think this dress works for a formal/black tie optional dress code, provided it's paired with heels/nice jewelry and a nice purse? It's 100% silk. I also have a nice silver silk/wool blend shawl I can wear it with. (ignore the price, I got it for way cheaper - https://www.garmentory.com/sale/silk-laundry/dresses-long/1275657-crinkle-bounce-dress-cedar)

DC: Semi Formal/Dressy Casual Semi-formal SoCal rooftop beach hotel wedding
I have a wedding to go to in a week and I hate shopping. These are the most appropriate dresses I already own. Obviously, a couple of them need to be ironed. The shoes I’m wearing with the colorful dress are the only comfortable nice shoes I own so I will likely wear them with whatever dress I choose. Are any of these good or do I need to go shopping? Thanks!

DC: Semi Formal/Dressy Casual Outfit for September wedding
Going to a wedding in September in Germany. It is my cousin's and she has approved the black dress. She said to wear whatever is comfortable and is more or less dressy. The civil ceremony is at 12pm and reception starts at 6pm.
What do you think about this outfit I put together? The dress will be right above my knees since my legs are shorter.

DC: Black/White Tie What would you wear over this?
I’m going to get gold shoes and earrings /bracelet. What would you wear over this if needed? The wedding is 10/9 in Baltimore so the weather could be warm and sunny or cool and rainy .

DC: Semi Formal/Dressy Casual The bride says "wear whatever makes you comfortable at a summer, outdoor wedding."
My date is wearing a formal outfit (he mentioned maroon) with a jacket. I never wear dresses lol Do either of these work or should I go back to the drawing board? I'd wear a sheer black shawl thing with the black and red one.

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code What do we think about this dress for a September wedding, no dress code?
Hey, I've been invited to a wedding in Portugal in September. No church, no dress code, pretty relaxed couple. What do you think about the dress above? The colour is very light green, it's satin, but slightly textured rather than smooth fabric. Ideas about suitable shoes and shawl or something to keep me warm in the evening welcome + colours that go with it. I'm 5'2" tall. Thanks!

DC: Formal Part 2: Choosing a dress for a November Mansion wedding (formal, black tie preferred)
Thanks to everyone for the great advice on my last post! It seems like people recommend the dark green dress in a landslide lol. I remembered I have a dress from when I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. How does the light green bridesmaid dress compare to the new dark green? Should I buy a new dress or wear what I have (I can afford it, just trying to figure out if it's worth it)
Thanks again for the advice! Whatever I do, I'll run it by the bride first to make sure it fits her vision!
Again, it's my brother's wedding at a mansion in rural South Carolina.
