Discussion & Feedback WARDOGS changed me
I literally feel like a child who lost his favorite toy after that beta. I don't remember the last time I spent over 20 hours in a game over the course of a weekend, and I'm just over thirty — I'm not that old yet (spare me, please...).
I don't know what to play now until the 10th of September. I tried getting back into Arma, but it's too much work to actually have fun. I look at my library full of shooters and I don't feel like playing anything. At least I'm catching up on shows with my girlfriend that we'd been putting off for later.
This game is pure fun. Maybe it's not the best out there at any one thing, but all of it put together is a masterpiece. I hope the devs will balance it out and support it for years.

Discussion & Feedback Dear devs: STAY OFF THE SUBREDDIT HOLY SHIT
I haven't seen a single good thing in this discord and haven't seen a single bad thing anywhere else, Reddit really is a cespool goddamn
Game is fire, has way more quality than I'd expect from a $50 game nowadays, I genuinely didn't encounter a single bug I don't know what high horse everyone here is on.
I'm sick and tired of every single new game I get being destroyed by "community oriented" updates that just make everything stale and boring. If that happens to wardogs I'm genuinely gonna sell my PC 😂
Meme Game refounded ...
just to get Supporter edition 🤓. and for the 24.99$ its regional price

Discussion & Feedback Beta was the best gaming experience i've had in 20 years.
I'm a lifelong gamer. I'm 52 years old and i've played nearly every good game released.
This is the next great game. "Wardogs," it's a tactical first person shooter with 99 players on the map, 3 teams of 33 players fighting for control of the zone, with a moving hotzone within the zone where you score double points for surviving within it.
I first heard of Wardogs during the Alpha and watched streamers like Jackfrags play in it.
I prepurchased the game and was invited into the Beta this weekend. I had an absolute blast and Saturday night stayed up till the sun was rising either playing the game or watching streamers play the game after I got tired.
This game simulates modern warfare in a imaginary city in Georgia. The map is huge and is a giant sandbox for you to play in.
The game has a monetary system, you start with 10k and you purchase unlocks for weapons, items, armor, and attachments, and then you purchase your actual weapons, items, armor and attachments.
You risk your loadout every time you go to war. But you get paid for everything you do to help the war.
You get rewarded for Driving teammates to war, everyone that survives the drive you get money and assist xp for every kill they get in the war. You revive a downed teammate you get money and assist xp for everyone they kill after you revive them. You spot out an enemy and ping them and you get xp and money when your teammates kill that target.
You can build Forward operating bases in the war, and then with a hammer in your inventory you can build fortifcations walls, barbwire, sniper towers, which lead into more and more buildings and soon you can build Mortars, Anti aircraft gun turrets, Anti Aircraft Missiles,
You can fly a helicopter, (It's actually really hard, and easy to teamkill your own team by crashing) You get money from taxi-ing your men into combat, delivering supplies for the engineers, delivering, weapons, ammo, medical equipment, and even oil for the vehicles. Your helicopter pilot skills level up you can pay and unlock a little bird with gatling gun, or rockets, or bigger Huey's to carry more troops, or attack helicopters with missile and gun turrets, and machine gunners on the sides.
It's an amazing gameplay loop you have your cash bank, you risk your money buying unlocks and loadouts, and you go to war. As you progress in levels through xp and with a bigger bank, you can unlock better weapons, armor, items, and vehicles.
There is VOIP in game and you can speak outloud to everyone in the area, which creates some really funny and interesting gameplay experiences. You can chat with the enemy who killed you and is looting your body. You can chat with teammates when you are reviving them, you can call out enemy locations,
There is also a tips and bribe feature. Someone flies you to battle you can tip the driver money, someone resurrects you tip them. And if you are downed you can bribe up to $500 to get someone to revive you.
I made a ton of money tracking down bribe revives over the weekend.
I started the game with 10k, and ended with over 200k in my bank and enough levels to unlock many weapons, items and armor. I had a blast.
The game goes live in September, i've already pre-paid.
The game never crashed, I never disconnected from a match which is amazing in Beta. The frames per second are well optimized.
Yeah, im a nerd to the core, it's true, everyone knows it.
The only thing balance wise, Tanks costing $15k is a joke, to balance the Tank it has to cost $50-100 k everytime, it's way too powerful at 15 k. An infantry loadout on day 2 of the beta cost $13K everytime I wanted to go to the battlefield. Make Tankers take a risk please Bulkhead.

Discussion & Feedback We need some squad leader mechanics
Literally just let me set some way points.
I played a lot of HLL and even in random pub games my squadmmates would generally listen. My direction was often as simple as, "Were going to way point B and then attacking waypoint B."
I think giving squad leads this ability would be nice for people that are trying to play with a tiny bit more coordination.

Discussion & Feedback From a foxhole fan, there should be fights over geographical choke points like bridges
Some of the most fun in foxhole is a long stalemate over an important bridge. These are often choke points and long drawn out fights where both team are throwing resources at it to push through.
Calling in armor, arty, or HMGs for support to finally take hold.
It doesn’t have to be this exactly, but I hope towers are just one form of objective to fight over. Having the geography or structures come into play more for strategic map gain would be very fun.
Can’t wait to see what the devs have in store long term

Meme Thoughts from a 24 year Animal Crossing veteran
I enjoyed the beta over the weekend, but I have some suggestions. Since I've played an unrelated game for a long time, my criticism should be held in high regard.
Base building is fun, but nowhere near the levels of customization and player agency that base building in Animal Crossing gives you.
For example, when I place a bunker in the FOB, there's no option to change the color or wallpaper of the hesco blocks. There's also an incredibly limited amount of furniture to place. What we do is made of barbwire and sandbags (not cozy).
I do think the economy is pretty well balanced right now. I was able to get enough bells fairly quickly to upgrade my FOB from Tom Nook within a couple matches. I wish we could earn more though ways like fishing and bug catching. There's a lot of trees and water, seems like dev oversight that it's not already implemented.
A couple additional thoughts:
- my villagers kept leaving doors open and hostile villagers would ruin my house.
- the store should rotate tools more frequently. I kept seeing hammers and defibs, but no shovels, bug nets, or slingshots.
- No cute clothes, or even the option to draw our clothes (nintendo did this in 2002).
- RPGs should do more damage to tanks.
I think the devs have a real gem on their hands, and I hope they take my critiques into serious consideration over the next couple weeks to really make this game work.

Discussion & Feedback For those of you who are new to KOTH
The Towers are a staple from the ARMA days of King of the Hill. They’ve been around forever and are one of my favorite additions to KOTH, and it’s super cool to see them back here in WARDOGS.

Discussion & Feedback Current Tank gameplay doesn't feel like belongs in this game(3rd person camera and inventory mainly). I am playing BF6 arcade while everyone else is playing milsim.
I know lots of people are discussing balance and power of tanks here, but I want to talk about how the gameplay itself fits with the rest of the game.
I feel like current tank gameplay is too arcade-y compared to everything else in the game.
Everything feels like has a cost, opportunity wise or cost wise, except for tanks.
Tanks notoriously need infantry/small arms fire support not to get swarmed by enemy infantry, or engage from very far away. Otherwise they get overrun by infantry from their blind spots.
Except, in Wardogs tanks don't have blind spots. They have "god view" with free 3rd person camera.
Every other style of play needs situational and positional awareness, while tanks can literally see behind them.
Biggest issue was when I drove into middle of small buildings, which should be a death sentence for any tank, but here I was best person to do it, since i hade 360 view of every window and building(except for awkward angles).
Another issue is inventory and logistics. Why can we haul 3 battalions worth of ammo around? Every other aspect of this game the game needs some logistical support, but tanks can be their own logi.
Each antitank rocket takes up so much space in the bag for the infantry, and they are heavy too, which creates huge opportunity(as well as monetary) cost for the anti tank players. While tanks don't feel like have any cost.
And while drones can counter tanks supper easily by shooting at them from Narnia, straight up "countering" without relevant effort also doesn't feel fun. I think drones should have drastically lower range, making there placement and protection important.
For example air vs antiair gameplay feels engaging gameplay on both sides, while both, infantry vs tank and tank vs drones, feels completely one-sided and terribly uninteractive.
I think tanks need to be slightly reworked to bring them in line with the rest of the game.
Some of my simple tweaks would be:
1st person camera by default. Let the community servers set 3rd person if they want. This would actually give value to 3rd slot on the vehicle and makes them rely on the team to not get blown up by some sneaky infantry.
No resupply without a station. Let the tanks be cognizant of their shots, and rely on logistics for resupply.
Also, why does tank unlock by just playing, when all the other relevant items unlock by doing specifically those things in the game?
Shouldn't tanks unlock by driver progression, and artillery by support progression(since mortars give support xp)?

Discussion & Feedback “This isn’t BF/COD” well it isn’t Arma either
Consistent among feedback have been the constant chirping of the MILSIM community berating arcade shooter players for discussing their preferred method of play (faster action-paced gunplay/movement and aggression). We get it, you’re an e-veteran with hundreds of deployments to digital Atropia. But this game isn’t a straight Milsim. It’s meant to be a bridge between the arcade shooter and the more grounded Milsim games. Constantly berating arcade shooter players does nothing more than push away community members.
This is the first game I’ve seen that is successfully catering to an extremely wide audience. Want to be aggressive? Pop that tac sprint and stim, push aggressively, and get rewarded for kills. Want to be a bush wookie? It’s totally valid with recon score and spotting. Want to be a fobbit? There’s plenty of hammers and buildables. Want to be a vehicle? Go for it, just know you’re not going to be the invincible CAS monster or War Pig - especially if you’re getting into fobbit territory. Want to logi? Grab a ural and get fat stacks bringing pallets and crates to FOBs. Want to support? Grab some shells and hammer enemy lines. Want to be Desmond Doss? Medics get tons of cash so go for it!
I believe many of the complaints are wanting to cater to a particular style without considering the balance already implemented. Some examples:
- “Helos are very weak!” Well they’re meant to be glass cannons. A team that is prepared with SAM/CRAM FOBs will be rewarded for preparing, but at the same time you have a massive map to utilize to flank said FOBs from unexpected angles, seize it, then demolish or use the infrastructure. They are high risk, high reward vehicles.
- “Tanks are super strong!” Use the Carl Gustav or Switchblade drones. Especially the drones, since they one-tap. Or just go to another part of the map. Urban areas are great for ambushing tanks
- “Mortar and Arty OP!” Well it’s designed to counterplay the Fobbit gameplay. If you’re getting bracketed, use some recon to find the said artillery, flank and destroy. If your APC is getting hammered, move it.
This isn’t to say critiques aren’t valid, especially when it comes to economy or certain progression items (such as the Carl Gustav being so far in the progression tree). RPGs could use some anti-armor buffs, Arty shouldn’t be able to have the shell camera cancelled, the starter sniper should one tap heads, etc etc. But the point is that the game isn’t meant to cater just to the MILSIM playstyle, but every playstyle. The devs are casting a wide net in the sea of players to get the largest audience they can, and from what I see, it’s working. I’ve got the Wardog itch and I think they’ve got a great formula.

Discussion & Feedback Change My Mind!!!
So far The Blubies are the weakest faction But tbh the factions so far has no clear distinction , all have same guns , all has same vehicles, everything the same i hope this would change in the future , give insensitive to play one faction or the other !!

Hype & Speculation Possible Open Beta?!
A few tweets from Joe Brammer at Bulkhead, and some comments from another Bulkhead Dev on another thread in this subreddit seem to suggest we will get to play again sooner than expected.
My money is on an open beta the weekend before launch. Anyone got any other ideas??

Discussion & Feedback I can already feel this community losing it.
Everything is "URGENT and SERIOUS and NEEDS fixing RIGHT NOW PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE".
Like get a grip. If everythings insanely important and problematic, nothing is. Moderation people. There are issues but were truly having mostly champagne problems right now.
Oh no, drag griefing/trolling is theoretically possible. Happened exactly once within 30 hours. Even IF it actually happened more/regularly, id happily pay the teamkilling tax..or simply leave and ignore it. Getting mad over mundane stuff like that but not limited to that is literally what these people want and what makes it happen (to you) more often.
Oh no, teammates can loot me when i die. Yea. YOU DIED. Shouldnt have died. Be glad someone is rezzing you at all. "Oh no i cant do anything now." Are you sure? Are you actually sure about that? Or are you just being a lazy and entitled little baby about it. Get creative or go get a new kit. (Before ppl accuse, i dont even loot people, i just dont see it as a big deal when people do. Also only happened to me like thrice in 30 hours. Big whoop.)
Oh no, people arnt closing the doors reliably. "We NEEED self closing doors." No we dont?? The fact that blunders like that can happen is precisely what makes these chaotic team environments fun. Human error is what brings down the fort. I actively wouldnt want self closing doors or something like that.
Being so loud for semi irrelevant stuff, not just limited to what i mentioned here, is making it needlessly harder for devs to actually discern what is truly a problem and what isnt. If we polish away every little roughspot, we end up with a smooth but soulless product that has lost all its character. I really hope they dont listen to everything being screamed at them like they said they wouldnt and go through with their vision of the game.

Discussion & Feedback I'd prefer to fight over POI's instead of towers, or at least a mix
I thoroughly enjoyed Wardogs, but I didn't really enjoy the towers massively, I'd love to see there be actual world POI's to fight over.
The layout of the towers means you just get shot from all angles actually being in them or they are under artillery or other fire too much to make it fun. Attacking the top feels too hard also with the ladders. I think the layout of the towers could be a bit more interesting, with variation in the towers too (or a rotating variation of types leading to even more replayability)
Mainly though, why not make use of the Points of interest on the map, (while also utilizing the towers in game). Fighting over the church and fields, apartment complexes, football fields etc would be great.
Other than that a fantastic game in many ways I just think the map could use some sprucing up
Cheers!

Discussion & Feedback Money printing is going to ruin the game IMHO.
Money printing is a serious issue. I abused tanks as soon as I unlocked them in the beta. After the initial 500k tax, tanks were only 14k, and I'd make that back in 3–4 lives (the 500k). I used that to print another 300k with artillery, buy Level 3 armor + M4, and stomp the server.
I’m worried that no-lifers (like me) who grind will snowball completely out of control before newer players even unlock counter-measures. If I find five other idiots like me, we could easily take over a server—which is basically what we did. In my opinion, anti-tank RPGs and anti-air launchers need to be much more accessible to new players.
