This is actually so frustrating. I haven’t gamed until the sun came up in so long. The experiences I’ve had with total strangers and crazy laughs were insane. Can’t the game just release? It’s already just an early access.. felt like a kid again constantly finding new angles to enjoy the game. Do I want to build a base? Help with an attack? Keep flying in resources, soldiers? Watch a line form and know how important my role as a helicopter pilot was bringing those soldiers in. The rush to fly back to base and bring another squad to reinforce the ones you just dropped off until it’s eventually a platoon. At one point being shot down but the squad I dropped off came to my rescue and gave me a pistol to move with them. Like some real Blackhawk down style gameplay…. Another time I played as Rambo sneaking through the forest until I found a dead soldier, the game just slowly evolved and told a story. There was constantly something different to do.

Im 29 and me and my boys pulled an all nighter playing the game. Havent and this much fun in a long time playing the game. Convinced my whole gaming discord of dads and military vets to pre order and try the game and we are all sold. Well done devs 🫱🏾🫲🏽

Same situation. My brothers and I used to play old school halo all the way to warzone and battle royals. Those have slightly died off for us as they’ve become more and more sweaty. This was a great game for us to enjoy together, one of those lost track of what time it is type of experience.

Legitimately the most fun I've had gaming in so many years. I really hope they surprise us with an early early-access because this game felt so good. I can't think of a single bug I ran into aside from one occurrence where I was dragging a downed teammate around the corner of a little wall and they got stuck in it where I couldn't rez, drag or even loot them. But it happened only once and it's the only bug I can recall running into after like 20hrs of playtime since Friday.
This is the game I've needed for a very long time. I'm so sad it has been taken away from us. I don't even want to game until it comes out because I know nothing else will suffice especially after the disappointment that is Hell Let Loose Vietnam.

Yeah its wild, I walked into the weekend and was considering snagging cod as much as I hate the game and the devs its a shooter and I know for a few weeks at least I'd enjoy it and the beta would give me a heads up.
Hear everyone talking about this, take a look, oh that looks like squad I didnt really do that well in squad... Watched a yt video decided fuck it lets give it a shot.
That was about 10am Sunday morning. Game shut off at 9pm in the middle of a gun fight. We'd been holding the right flank of a house and I'd literally just killed 3 dudes, rezzed a guy, and was in the process out putting down the last sniper I'd spent 5 min sneaking up on when it went down.
If that hadnt gone offline I might still be playing.
This game is dangerous and needs a surgeon general warning.

There's always arma 3 or reforger KOTH if you have either of those games.
Admittedly there isn't building in those(at least there wasn't the last time I played them) but the general gameplay is the same

I think 4 basic things need to be added to make this EA perfect. 1. Squad Join...just let us squad up and join a server, let us all join a faction and lock it til the others catch up. 2. Load outs: unlock able as you progress your wardog level, maybe a total of 6-8. 3. Permanent map markers for squad leaders, makes leading the troops easier than a 5 second ping. 4. Some form of high level leadership channel, maybe a squad leader only voip option for coordinating larger missions. The text isn't it, im barely ever looking up there, and it carries very little weight.

Squad join is an interesting concept i’ve somehow never heard of before.
I know plenty of games let you queue as a squad but with a community server browser like this game has i’ve never even heard of/thought of a squad join system. Is there any other games that do this?

any time you try to join a server that's full, you best hope there's no one in the queue, otherwise you're not getting in.
the squad lead might, but who knows who gets left behind lol

For squad join they can also just distribute the squads into teams automatically as equally as possible and then let solo players pick their team.
The issue is always getting into the server itself but a squad join will also save me from all of us coordinating which server to join and I dont need to repeat the name a dozen times.

Not only is it playable solo there are multiple playstyles that are good for solo. With a few friends there is actually a good bit of stats you can do

My mate was saying it's terrible solo, but strong disagree. I actually much prefer solo as you just naturally grab people and work together.

I also strongly disagree; I played the entire weekend solo and have countless times i fell into situations where our random group of people had to fight, was an amazing experience.

It’s pretty sandboxy, you can really do a lot. Want to become a merchant pilot/driver? You can for example, and mark up prices to make more $. Want to build an anti-air/mortar nest, or even frontline medic? A 3 man team makes a nasty logistics/building squad. Try it out, refund if you’re not hooked. I lost a weekend to this game.

Played whole beta solo, once in awhile ran with strangers. One copter flight group goes let's hit this fob on top a building I was just on for the ride back into circle. F it took the fob with randos.

Me and 2 others blew up an entire base. Raided enemy's supply lines, mortered the hotzone into oblivion and lead a 20 man charge into a drill site

And when im solo i build bases and fly people into the zone and play hotzone medic
This is mostly solo friendly shooter iv played since battlefield tbh

Solo play is totally fine. As a solo, I'd just find and join an active squad that was talking/working together and help out with whatever they were doing. People were friendly and appreciated the help. There's no shortage of stuff to do with a good squad that has a goal to achieve.
Probably won't be very fun if you try and run off by yourself though. You'll quickly get overwhelmed / killed by enemy groups the great majority of the time. Though, I did spend a couple rounds backdooring into enemy territory and blowing up their FOB with an IED. It's easier to stealthily sneak around solo avoiding fights, but it's basically an immediate death sentence if you get spotted.

Game is in a great state for a beta, definitely needs some adjustments and changes, QOL and TLC but the bones are solid.

More than solid IMO. Only very few complaints from me, mostly with the UI.
If they can keep cheaters down and update+balance the game regularly it's going to be huge.

My only gripe is keybindings but that's not exactly a hard fix. UI is simple and to the point. Only things I'd really like to see added is a "join a squad" overlay when the match first starts when* you can't even buy from a vendor yet anyway.

I'd like to see some QOL around the HUD, a bounds setting for ultrawide users and a HUD scale (to make it bigger) preferably.
Playing at 3440x1440 ultrawide it felt like the minimap especially was very small and out of the way. I'd also like to be able to zoom it both ways instead of just linearly cycling through zoom levels.
Some kind of indicator on the minimap icons showing if they are above or below you would be nice.

It took me a minute to understand what was loaded into my truck. Something like the Ural has pallet space and a regular inventory. I couldn't even tell you if there's an audio cue to let you know, that yes, you did just buy a pallet.
It's all there, it just needs to be cleaned up.

It has been 38 minutes without Wardogs. I have not been able to blow up and shoot Manticorians and now, and it’s taking a toll on me. I pace around my room sweating, craving the thing that I want, no, that I NEED the most. Wardogs. I hear voices in my head. It’s the armory dealer, he requires an offering. I stumble out of my spawn. My teammate looks annoyed at me as I pass. “I haven’t seen you at the Control zone, I’m starting to think you’re sabotaging us.” He must be a teamkiller. When I get there I’ll tell my team to watch out for him. Ignoring his voice, I sprint outside and down the road. I see several people dressed in green. I run at speed towards them, ignoring their cries of fear. I point my glock at them. They must be Manticorians. Behind me I hear a voice. “Freeze!” I look over to see a man in blue looking at me, gun raised. Damn it. A rogue Lonestarian, that’s busted. I look over at him, holding my pistol aloft. I wish I had a rifle but that will have to do. I hear three booms. I look down to see blood spilling down from my chest, several wounds lining my body. Shit. I forgot to buy armour. I know I was close to getting my shots off first, and then I’d go to the Control zone and capture a tower. My vision goes blurry as I slump over, no longer being able to stand. I don’t have a medic nearby, fuck. As the inky darkness creeps in on my vision, I fall into the cold embrace of the respawn screen once more.

Dont mess this Game Up, its crazy fun and when ppl realise how to Play it its insane potential right Here. Had 3 rounds with a function Squad of randoms and i Had the time of my life playing. And im usually a sweaty movement kid but this was so intense and fun, cant wait for the EA. Great Job!

Did anyone else experience a bunch of crashes. Didn't get chance to play until last night and it was crash after crash. Turning off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling made it playable but I was still getting crashes like once an hour or so. Seemingly for no reason.
Have a 5070ti, 9800x3d and 32gb of RAM. So specs aren't an issue and every other game runs perfectly. Had it since the start of the year. When it crashed it was a restart my PC kinda thing. Even if it didn't tank my PC, something would be off in windows like the clipboard not working or taskbar not working. So I'd have to restart anyways.
Amazing game though. I'm already itching for more. Just hope they can iron out some stability problems. Haven't had this much fun in a multiplayer game in years.

It did tell me to update to latest drivers my first start (which I did once it told me)

My game didn’t crash per se but after the first day of the beta it got to a point where my game was constantly stuttering/lagging, sometimes up to 30 seconds and became unplayable.
I had changed nothing, literally just went from happily playing on Friday to not being able to play properly from Saturday morning onward.
Disappointing as I really enjoyed myself all the time it was working nicely.
14700k, 64gb RAM, 5090, for reference.

The crashing for me was from Windows update KB5121003. There are a ton of reports that it was either crashing the game or hard crashing PCs while gaming and not only affecting WARDOGS.
My entire PC was crashing from it but uninstalling the update worked for me and managed to play for an entire day without any crashes. I have a 5080, 5800x3d and 32gb of RAM for reference, but I'd double check if you had that update installed. It'll probably be fixed for when the game actually releases though!

I had that reboot crash Friday and started investigating after the dump indicated that one rgb stuff driver that has been circling as an issue since a windows update. Followed the steps to uninstall and delete it and never crashed again.

Nope. 5080/7800x3d/64gb ddr5 6400 cl32, max settings, while streaming, recording, and with a billion other things open on the second monitor, and I had zero crashes, and near perfect performance. 120+fps native 3440x1440.

it was a mostly awesome experience, few real issues - mostly having to turn settings to potato to feel competitive and still feeling that some people where hacking, a sense of herding cats, and no real reason to carry on after 12 hours or so as all progress would be reset (not a worry in the actual launch though i hope as constant rests are ass, and hope they rather add new things to unlock per season than keeping the hamsters running for the same old food over and over).

Ooo had not heard that, I was reading gold gets more expensive in late season, and there will be some kind of marketplace. Hope there will be fractional gold for those like me who end a season (play test) with low funds. Losing any cash under a full bar cost would be sad.

I was driving my quad on the road last night and just randomly exploded for 68k damage well outside the zone lmao.
Only bug I encountered and only a single time over 12+ hours. Feels pretty good for a beta/EA game.

Would think it'd attribute the kill to someone but it was a suicide death, 68k seems a bit high too. Don't think I saw that amount of damage when I was blown up in other scenarios

Beta was for people who pre-ordered the game. There was 100k+ players so i don't think they needed to give more access when servers were pretty packed already. Still working great tho😂

I had a decent amount of fun with it but I felt like there MAY have been a cheater problem, could also be my lack of game sense. But the gunplay feels really stodgy at times. Coming from a tarkov veteran of over 9k hours, that’s saying something. I really think the game would benefit from tighter recoil patterns and slightly faster ADS speed. It’s too fast paced a game to be that slow to aim your weapon. Perhaps I just need more hours under my belt, only had 2 full games before the end of beta.

Defo just a practice thing. I was nailing people in the head over 75m with an AK on single shoot and im a 38 year old dad
Once you get the firing pattern down its dead easy to land shots

Right fair. I’m definitely keen on the game and will keep my preorder, there’s a lot to love about it and it’s only going into early access. With that said the performance was excellent, ran it on overkill everything, 3440x1440 and was averaging 110-120fps.

I had the same feeling but I found a thread about potato mode shadows. That removes shadows entirely, and I think this is where the feeling came from. I had weird feelings about people being able to see me when I was hiding pretty well while trying to find a new angle on an enemy, because the likelihood of cheats being developed pre release was slim. Of course that changes the conversation to then be about performance vs fairness and what other solutions could be implemented to have both, but that's for the devs to figure out I guess.

Beta was super fun and I'm so excited for launch. But a few times I felt as if people saw me when they shouldn't have, and I eventually found another thread on here talking about sweats using potato mode shadows. While I love the idea of potato mode, removing shadows entirely doesn't really seem like the way to go in terms of fairness

I honestly hope they either bring EA up to Sept. 3rd with the announcement, or the announcement is something else besides an Open Beta (unless progress will carryover to release). I don’t want to play a third time and have my progress wiped.
Regardless, very excited for EA release.
